This has been a tough article to write or to even think about. I have to confess I got very little sleep last night and woke up sick to my stomach. I did not want to read the text messages again that caused the MURDER of Mike Yepremyan.

So I asked myself why, this is someone’s son I never knew except in death, why or how could this day affect me so deeply. The answer is simple, we all have children and grandchildren and today text messages via their cell phone is something that happens million of times every day. The time old thought comes flooding in of “There but for the grace of God….” Any of us could find ourselves facing a day like this day is for Ani and Ari Yepremyan.

I wonder if the homicide detectives or the assistant district attorney called Mike’s parents today with that famous: “Just two more weeks”, that Mike’s dad shared with me is what he has heard twice a month for a year. I bet neither called this family today, to think of this is hard enough and they have many more and very “important” cases to work on.

Tomorrow, November 19, 2010, is the day Mike’s parents goes to the Rose Bowl Parade gathering of donor families to decide what they want their message to say to the world on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2011, a new beginning for most of us.

I am sure Mike’s parents paid a visit to their son’s grave and cried a new river of tears today. If the truth be known I would bet that John J. Nazarian also made a journey to the cemetery to pay his respect to this young man who even in death gave so much.

How much can one family take, and “Just two more weeks” are pretty hollow words. There are no conspiracy of murder charges pending, or conspiracy to block an investigation, or obstructing justice, and of course no murder charges. “Just two more weeks”, and that is if Mike’s dad can even get a call through, they seem to be avoiding him as much as they can. My wish for the homicide detectives and the assistant district attorney is look at your children and/or grandchildren tonight. Take a hard look at that cell phone that goes everywhere with each one of them, and the hundreds of text messages sent in a day. If this was your child or grandchild how would; “Just two more weeks” sound to you?

My prayers and thoughts today are with those who love Mike. My anger is at a system who failed this family and more importantly this young man who had so much to offer the world in the years robbed from him, his parents and us.

My heart truly aches today and I am sure tonight I will be haunted again by the words; “Just two more Weeks”?

It’s a truly tragic tale — a young Southern California man full of promise, a murder that remains unsolved, and a family forever torn apart. This is the story of the Death Text.

The mood was festive at Mike Yepremyan’s 19th birthday party last October. Family video obtained by KTLA News shows a jubilant Mike, dancing with his family and friends. But no one in the room that night could have possibly imagined that 20 days later Mike would be dead from a gunshot to the head.

To think: a boy sends a text message calling someone “a bitch,” and within hours he’s shot down in cold blood, says Beverly Hills private investigator John Nazarian.

Nazarian is working with the Yepremyan family on their son’s murder. Nazarian says Mike and his friends had no idea what they were getting into.

“This is a classic example of sheep going to a slaughter”, Nazarian says.

“I don’t have anything”, Mike’s father says. “It like a tree without roots, only leaves. Nothing, that’s it.”

…Ani, Mike’s mother, fights back tears in remembering her son. “My life is broken. Forever, forever.”

19 year old Gombert Yepremyan, a fine young man known to friends and family as “Mike,” was brutally murdered over a text message. Mike was a student at Pierce College and worked as an emergency vehicle dispatcher. A devoted son to his loving mother Ani and father Art Yepremyanrt , Mike attended LA Baptist High School where he met his lovely girlfriend, Danielle. He was a good kid who worked hard and kept out of trouble, but on Nov. 18, 2009, trouble found him on the corner of Laurel Canyon and Victory Blvds, at the Sears parking lot in North Hollywood. Earlier that evening, Mike had sent a text message to his girlfriend, Danielle, warning her to “Stay away from that bitch,” that bitch being Khatun “Kat” Vardanian, a girl Danielle had begun hanging out with occasionally. He just had a bad feeling about her…little did he know how prophetic that feeling would be. The text message came through while Danielle’s iphone was sitting in her car’s center console, where Kat saw it, went into a rage, and immediately set in motion the events that led to Mike’s death only hours later. She allegedly called relatives who got together an Armenian posse who went gunning for Mike. For a text message! Mike and his school buddies agreed to meet them to “talk it over.” But before they knew what happened, Mike had been shot in the neck, hitman-style, and the culprits disappeared in a black BMW. The getaway driver fled the country. The shooter has not been caught.

But as of Friday, March 26, the “Kat” is in the bag. Department 100 on the third floor of Van Nuys Criminal Court is Judge Thomas Rubinson’s court and the calendar was very full with an assortment of misfits. …

…The occasion was supposed to be the arraignment of Khatun “Kat” Vardanian, DOB: 4.30.1989, for “conspiracy to commit assault,” for which she had been out on a paltry $30,000 bail. Why is it in LA that some business tycoon gets a million bail for putting giant ads on buildings, but for causing someone’s murder you can walk for $30,000?

Well anyway, there was a nice little surprise waiting in court for Kat the Bitch. She was re-arrested for the murder of Gombert “Mike” Yepremyan, yes you read this correctly, murder. Khatun Vardanian arrived in Department 100 this morning with her father, Samuel and her uncle Abraham, they looked to be a happy bunch in a serious way. …Donald B. Marks, Khatun’s lawyer told the court, all she did was tell her brother, “Go beat em up“ (for calling her a BITCH)…..what????????? I was shocked to hear him say this! …

Khatun Vardanian is represented by Donald B. Marks and Anthony Brooklier, well for now, anyway. …The new bail is $1,000,000 and Mr. Brooklier’s fees should also increase considerably, defending a murderer. When Ms. Vardanian was lead away to the holding area, she whined, “Daddy!” …From another part of the courtroom someone uttered, “Justice.” Justice? Not yet for Mike’s devastated, grieving parents Art and Ani, his little sister Cristina, his girlfriend Danielle, and Mike’s many friends. …

….Khatun Vardanian’s arraignment on the new charge of MURDER is set for April 7.
