After the surprise unanimous ruling of the the U. S. Supreme Court last week that police must get a warrant before using GPS trackers attached to a vehicle of a suspect or “target”, police and private detectives have been asked their thoughts.
“Only yesterday it was the exotic stuff of spy shows: Flip on a computer, and track the enemy’s speeding car.
But today, anyone with $300 can compete with Jack Bauer. Online, and soon in big-box stores, you can buy a device no bigger than a cigarette pack, attach it to a car without the driver’s knowledge, and watch the vehicle’s travels — and stops — at home on your laptop.
Tens of thousands of Americans are already doing just that, with little oversight, for purposes as seemingly benign as tracking an elderly parent with dementia or a risky teenage driver, or as legally and ethically charged as spying on a spouse or an employee — or for outright criminal stalking.
Last Monday, [January 23, 2012], in a decision seen as a first step toward setting boundaries for law enforcement, the Supreme Court held that under the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution, placing a Global Positioning System tracker on a vehicle is a search. Police departments across the country say they will be more likely to seek judicial approval before using the devices, if they were not already doing so.
Still, sales of GPS trackers to employers and individuals, for a multitude of largely unregulated uses, are growing fast, raising questions about privacy and a legal system that has not kept pace with technology.
This easy tool for recording a person’s every move is a powerful one that, when misused, amounts to ‘electronic stalking’.
“That, to the victim, is just as terrifying as seeing your face in the window at night before they go to bed,” said John J. Nazarian, who heads an investigation agency based in Los Angeles.”

Nothing better than to wake up first thing in the morning and have calls coming in with the question, “who did Laura Wasser hire as her P.I.? “ Let me think, NOT ME for sure. One – we are too expensive, and I am very happy to be able to write those very words. Two – are you nuts? Going up against Arnold Schwarzenegger and his lawyers…is there an upside to this assignment? Ahhhh let me think, no, not even the money would be worth the “encounter.” “Happy” will not be a word coming from the mouths of whoever is being chosen for this gauntlet of misery that he or she will be facing. Let’s sit and think for a moment who it is that some “P.I.” is going to try and mess with…now you understand? Go back to sleep and just hope this all passes.
Remember Arnold is smart, very smart…look into his eyes when he is being followed and asked questions, the look of annoyance is present and is it not a look as to say “I want to make you go away and fast”? I swear the look in his eyes when he is annoyed is familiar, very familiar, like in TERMINATOR! No I am not being silly here folks, it is my opinion that you want to stay on the sunny side with this guy or your life will become difficult, maybe even miserable. We here at Nazarian and Associates are happy and thank god busy…loving the desert.
Much of my success has been to know when to duck, and the other issue for me is that I know the difference between being a “sacrifice” and being an “investigator.” Also I consider Marty Singer a friend and someone that I would not want to be upset with me or my sons. Sure call it old age, call it getting soft, or how about this, “picking your fights carefully.”

Through all my years in the investigative and security field I have extended my hand only a few times in helping an individual hit the road running in the private field. Mike Spencer, former investigative reporter, was one and of course I taught Bobby Jakucs Col. USMC ret. everything he knows about “making a buck” in this racket! Both of these brilliant minds remain people that I depend on when I am in the need for good solid advice.
Now here comes someone that I have the utmost respect for and from the very beginning when he and I met we hit it off. Centurion Security Consulting is operated and controlled by my friend, James Ventola. Mr. Ventola recently left the United States Secret Service and is based on the East coast. James will be assisting Nazarian and Associates in the course of our work on the West Coast and throughout Europe. Nazarian and Associates will be assisting Mr. Ventola as well on the East Coast, as we have always had a presence on the Eastern Seaboard…it was home for many years.
Mr. Ventola spent seven years with the United States Secret Service and his list of achievements are too long to list. And he still has a level of confidentiality that will remain just that, confidential. James was assigned to the White House as well as being assigned to a field office as a Special Agent, investigating crimes all over the United States. To become a member of such an elite group is one big achievement, there are only 2300 agents for the entire world. Let me put it to you this way, have you ever met or even spoken to a member of The United States Secret Service? Mr. Ventola is graduate of the University of Rhode Island and holds a degree in Sociology that will come in handy in dealing with me…only thing more helpful would be a doctorate in psychology. James and I share a love for good Italian food and are still on hold on the pizza angle, East v West.
Nazarian and Associates has always looked for very special people with very special talents to provide the best of the very best for our clients. Mr. Ventola brings exactly that kind of knowledge and technical ability that we are proud to be associated with. For sure Nazarian and Associates and myself have a very public persona and we love that part of our image. However, 99.9 percent of what we do is never ever revealed for the hundreds and hundreds of clients we deal with for whom privacy is important, and that is a fact. Having Mr. Ventola and his new firm on board will bring Nazarian and Associates up to an even higher level of knowledge in dealing with Vulnerability and Risk Assessments, Security and Safety Audits and Contingency Planning. These are all areas that Mr. Ventola has expertise and can examine and give clear and concise advice and direction. With his education and training in these areas there is no one around who can come close to Mr. Ventola, except for perhaps his father…a story for another time.

Thanks for the emails of concern, I appreciate them, actually I have begun to trace my family from the U. K. via the May Flower in 1620 and forward… it is additive… however have no fear I am back and will be putting up a new article at least every other day while we catch up on all of the cases we are covering not just all things Anna Nicole Smith, Howard K. NEWEST PAPERS IN TEXAS CASE:
June 1, 2010 Court Order with new Docket Control Dates, as well I expect this all to change again because of the pending hearings, Motions, depositions, etc. I just don’t see it being done by August 17, 2010 regarding Discovery let alone the Writs decided by the First Court of Appeals and the Howard K. Stern Motions set for hearing on August 6, 2010. I see the Court once again changing all of the dates.
June 8, 2010 Virgie Arthur’s Notice of hearing on all Motions pending against Howard K. Stern on August 6, 2010 at 2:30 PM at the same time Stern has all of his Motion’s set.
I am putting this up because I believe they have been public since probably 2007, just not easily located. By going through the diary excerpts I found several interesting things. 1.) Anna Nicole Smith was a very screwed up woman, however she knew what she wanted any child to look like and it was not Howard K. Stern. 2) Stern was so in meshed with his love and/or addiction to Anna Nicole Smith that he would have said and done anything she wanted. 3) That goes along with what many of you have said but I was unable to believe and that is Stern knew all along that Dannielynn was not his daughter but Larry Birkhead’s which is kind of sad he was willing to lie for Anna to have a baby and no father. I think Anna desperately wanted love and feared being alone, the diary shows she was a very lonely woman IMO. It also shows she appears to have been attractive to abusive men, I found that interesting. How sad she finally got the blond hair blue eye baby she so wanted before Daniel grew up and left home; a child loves unconditionally and I see a woman in here that displays that over and over again. I think the significance I see in this is that Virgie Arthur is going to be able to show that Stern lied and attack his character and credibility on those facts. So to those of you who told me over and over again that Howard K. Stern knew he was not the father, you had greater insight in to all things Anna Nicole Smith and I did not. I remember when the DNA was announced and I called Krista Barth and cried on the phone with her for poor Howard, boy did I call that one wrong.
June 11, 2010 Order to remove Turner’s Medical Records from the Harris County Clerk public site stating the records are protective under TRCP 76a(2)(a)(2) based the access of the medical records is otherwise restricted by law.

NEWS ON THE CALIFORNIA CRIMINAL TRIAL
Multiple sources have told me that Dr. Khristine Eroshevich is on her fourth attorney in the criminal case, NOT good wonder what the problem is with her and her attorneys? Stern and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor has kept their legal teams in tact from the beginning. Could Eroshevich being going through lawyers like stockings you discard because you don’t like them or is this a smart ploy to get the August trial date moved past the California elections in November of this year. I was also told that Nazarian and Associates are no longer representing her. I was not able to contact any of the attorneys involved in this musical chair like of switching attorneys, however I was able to get in touch with Nazarian and Associates and asked them if that was true only to be turned away with the norm for Hollywood of “No Comment at this time”. So what’s up with Dr. Eroshevich? Perhaps y’all are again right in your take she is going down for that laundry list of drugs but not Kapoor or Stern. It appears I might have called this one of none convicted as wrong, glad I don’t bet on football or horses.

The latest potential train wrecks, Da Kardashians — Kim and her BIG sister Kourtney — were exiting a car when some poor photographer got very close, it is being reported. And Kim and BIG sis Kourtney’s security thugs took care of business. What does that mean? Just because the guy has a camera does not make him a “threat,“ as a matter of fact is it not these very same people who made these nobodies somebodies?
The members of our security details are off-duty police and sheriff deputies and above all gentlemen. You can still have “security” and not get sued or arrested, it is called having trained people in place and COMMON SENSE. During the Phil Spectre circus we saw his “security“ team and being that he was so rich it would appear that he had paid by the pound for the two cows in very large suits that accompanied him and his wife to and from the court.
…For Nazarian and Associates, we don’t hire people by how many pounds they weigh but for what they have between their ears: brains. …
And how about this, you don’t want the attention, don’t leak your schedule to the paparazzi and chances are they won’t be there. Ahhhh, that would be too disappointing, no one to take your picture and document how surprised you look. OH NO, but then TMZ would not have you to make comments about on there site. There are dozens of ways to keep from being confronted by the photogs. A perfect example is when Adam Braun and I accompanied a client to be booked for the Anna Nicole [Smith] debacle…there was no photo of her entering the police station, and no photo of her leaving. Also keep in mind that I planned the entire event and the best part NO MUG SHOT! We don’t want to be sued and we don’t want to attack the very people who make us famous, THE PAPARAZZI, these men and women provide a service. For sure there are times when you wish they were not parked in front of your house or apartment. How about this, send for coffee and sandwiches for them while they are camped out and maybe they will give you a break. We use other less pleasant tactics but they are harmless…who can predict a broken hose or sprinklers going off by accident?
When a real threat is in place, get out of the area quickly and use the appropriate force to do that. Having trained professionals will do the trick and you don’t get that for 50 bucks an hour. But if you hire meat to beat people and smack them around and break their cameras, you’ll PAY FOR IT in bail, lawyers and settlements.
