DESPERATEEXES.COM EXCLUSIVE!!!! Anthony Pellicano has filed for divorce from his wife Kat Pellicano. The two were together for well over 25 years. Mr. Pellicano is represented by Robert J. Nachshin, Lawyer, Mr. Nachshin has been in the trenches of ‘divorce’ for many years here in Southern California, handling many high profile clients. Anthony once again could have picked several lawyers to represent him and chose Mr. Nachshin’s office…..smart! (Some of those lawyers I am sure are trying to forget Mr. Pellicano ever existed, but he did and these very same lawyers will forever be connected to him….and we all know who you are).

Anthony Pellicano of course famous for his ability to gather information through the tapping of telephones is serving far more years in a Federal Prison than I am sure he ever expected. Anthony was given an additional 15 years on top of what he was serving for a previous conviction. Please keep in mind that much of that sentence was do to his insistence in representing himself, this I believe. Also even a bigger issue was his refusal to ever roll over on any of the lawyers that he worked with and ‘tapped’ for. For those lawyers here at DESPERATEEXES.COM we call them ‘ Very Very Very Lucky’ lawyers. And you all know who you are as I am sure the feds also know, and lots of others know who you are, and on and on it goes.

Had Anthony decided to save his own ass, he could have been a free man, and the Beverly Hills Bar Association would have had a dozen or so less lawyers in its ranks.

That never happened due in part to Mr. Pellicano keeping his mouth shut and loosing his freedom and everything else he owned. That I am sure brings pleasure to many of his victims and again, at some point you have to let the hate go and move on.

“Summing up, the prosecuting attorney stated that he chose to attack the supply rather than the demand, the way that vice investigators attack pimps and prostitutes rather than johns, because “that’s how you make a dent in it.” The johns in this case were the likes of Bert Fields, Brad Grey, Ron Meyer, Michael Ovitz and Chris Rock, all of whom paid Pellicano for services rendered. “If the government has no plans to go higher than Pellicano, this is a depressingly pedestrian effort that shows a lack of ambition,” commented John C. Coffee, a professor at Columbia Law School and an expert on white-collar crime, as quoted in the NY Times story on the verdict.” This paragraph was taken from Mr. Pellicano’s Wikipedia page and I very much agree with almost all of it. Pellicano could have had some of the most powerful lawyers and entertainment execs in Federal Prison had he chosen to talk…..as if it was not bad enough I am sure that proctologist in Beverly Hills were busy for weeks trying to relax some of these assholes ‘Proktos’!

As for Anthonys wife, Kat, I had the opportunity to speak to her a couple of time and what a class act. She was just one of the nicest people and at times you had to recall that old adage,
“ opposites attract “. As to his family that is private and will never be mentioned here on DESPERATEEXES.COM….none of my business. We do not know at this time who will represent her in these proceedings, my suggestions, lets see, Ira Friedman of Friedman & Friedman, Michael Trope of Trope and Decarolis, Judith Forman of Law Offices of Judith Forman, Grace Jamra of Jamra & Jamra, Roz Soudry, Law Offices of Roslyn Soudry…..just a few that I think that would get through this without the usual slaughter of finances.

For us here at DESPERATEEXES.COM and for myself I hope that this goes in a direction of reasonableness and that both these people get the time to move on with their lives. Mr. Pellicano has plenty of time as well as Robert Nachshin to handle this in a sensitive and delicate manner. It is my hope that Mrs. Pellicano will find her own peace and a counter part to take care of the closing of another chapter in her life.

I wish them both ‘Peace and a better future’.

PS….I would love to have that Pelican that sat in the offices on Sunset Boulevard….

Brot and Gross have hit it to the moon again! Lawyers Ronald Brot and Mark Gross continue to be the “go to” guys in the world of high profile divorces. Well Ron is going to the moon, sort of indirectly.

Ronald Brot is representing Buzz Aldrin (whom we all watched walk on the moon with Neil Armstrong) as he now sends his third wife to the moon! Ron is the guy to do it, and I am betting it will be a one way trip. These divorce lawyers (Ron and Mark) have the energy and shock like a new nightclub….they rock! And they have the office and staff to rock most lawyers worlds…they are not nice and they like it that way. Nice they are as to being great and fun people, but not easy when it comes to seeing anything except what they think is right for their clients…”Fly me to the Moon” indeed!

And the reason for the divorce you ask? “Irreconcilable differences”, a legal term for they hate each other, at least for now. Well that is great for Mr. Aldrin, he got him a real launcher but wait. This is not going to be cheap…welcome to Southern California, great sun and even greater legal fees! Divorce is a big deal, like building a house and it should not be cheap…you want it done right and you should pay for it. Also it is a learning experience that once you do it you don’t want to do it again. Buzz? is this number 3? You got to love this guy, The Moon and DIVORCE #3.

Lois Cannon and Buzz were married on Valentines Day, in ’88 (over ten years, you go girl!) and I understand that she is searching for a divorce lawyer and a satellite to keep her in orbit, or at least in a “lifestyle” she is accustomed to and who are you betting on? Meyer Olson Lowy & Meyers? Trope & Trope? Trope & Decarolis? Ros Soudry? Susan Wiesner? Grace Jamra? Steven Knowles? Bob Cohen? well my fingers are getting sore. All I will say that whoever she gets to keep her in orbit will have their hands full in dealing with RON BROT.

And we are at 10, 9, 8, ahh you know the rest, I need to stop!

What are some of those just brilliant old expressions? “Every dog has its day,” “sleep with dogs, wake up with fleas,“ and one of the best ones that comes to my mind today is “you don’t know what you got till you lose it.” And did I hear someone ask, “Have you seen Michael?”…LMAO, I think I found him and have the wet clothes to prove it, read on.

You heard it here first folks, on January 2, 2011 I predicted that “it would appear that others too are checking the depth of the water and chipping barnacles in hopes of setting sail.” Well, I am walking to my car after having an incredible lunch with one of my best friends, Sorrell Trope founder of Trope and Trope. Sorrell and I had a great lunch and as always the conversation was the best. All of a sudden I get hit with a hail of water, another “anchor” dropped and it was at 9465 Wilshire Boulevard…wait, this is the offices of Jamra & Jamra! Shiver me timbers, it is Michael B. Hanasab, Esq. He has said goodbye to Phillips, Lerner & Lauzon, LLP aka “Sticey Flips & Co.” It would seem that at this rate, Ms. Flips offices will be a great place to practice yodeling. The upside of all this is that new associates will have a place to get some experience in the world of divorce. My opinion is just that, my opinion, but “Flips” still has some great talent in suite 1200. My only thought is this, who is next? I hear some serious barnacle chipping is still going on.

Michael Hanasab, Esq. is one of DesperateExes.com’s favorite associates and for sure one of the up and coming divorce lawyers. Remember we are tracking the bright stars in the world of divorce, associates are our stars and in time you will see why. Michael arrived March 21, 2011 his ship docked….then why did I get splashed this afternoon? Mr. Hanasab is a graduate of Loyola and has been practicing for 6 years. When asked what moved him to set sail, it was a simple response, “this was a step up and out “. Michael I could not agree with you more, you have joined one of the premier up and coming law firms in Southern California. To be more exact, Beverly Hills, if you have not seen the new offices of Jamra & Jamra all I can say is wow! Already? I rushed to my mailbox for my February issue of LOS ANGELES magazine and got an instant rash, 2011 Southern California Super Lawyers issue! We had our usual laughs and then it got serious, Phillips, Lerner, Lauzon & Jamra…Jamra, did she not so move on? Well if you look at page S-8 you will see the group photo, was that photoshopped? And the space between Sticey Flips and Grace Jamra is big enough to stick Lynn Soodik in, sure like a plug! …Grace Jamra is now Jamra and Jamra, there is no more ‘J’, it is ‘PLL’, as Grace is gone!

…Not to only mention Sticey, but who reads this drivel and hires someone based on being a “Super” anything, I think you should have “Super Dooper,” “Super Biller,” “Super Super Dooper”… My thought here folks is that I wish that I had been the slick SOB who came up with this idea, it is now showing up in other papers, everyone is “Super.” Then we have “top 50? and we have the “top 100,” this is great, how about the “bottom 3.” Or the “worst biller” or the “best biller” (we all know who those are!). Or the best dresser or the worst dresser, the best hair….the worst hair. How about for the men, those who never shine their shoes? Sorrell Trope will always be the best dressed and his shoes…like mirrors, and you won’t find him paying to be called a “Super Lawyer”. And here is the bad news, many of you who are grabbing for this silly title really suck at doing what you do and we all know who you are!

What are some of those just brilliant old expressions? … “ you don’t know what you got till you lose it.”

Well, I was walking down Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills the other day after having lunch at the Montage and heard this big splash. What? I could not believe my eyes, it was Grace Jamra of JAMRA & JAMRA. Grace has dropped anchor in Beverly Hills at JAMRA & JAMRA, 9465 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 460, Beverly Hills, California……you can call her at 310-278-9001.

Formerly of Phillips, Lerner, Lauzon & “she is gone” Jamra, LLP. This is huge, as it is in many of these “premiere” divorce firms, you have one in the firm who is a great self promoter but presents a case as if… …

…I coined the term “Amazing Grace” after sitting and listening to her in court a few years ago…

…. what took this 20 year veteran so long? So long to move out of a situation of working for ol’ what’s her name? I would have given a pair of my cashmere socks to see the look on Sticey Flips when the news hit her with her morning coffee. Ouch! And it would appear that others too are checking the depth of the water and chipping barnacles in hopes of setting sail

Jamra & Jamra will be a power house of expertise and experience, I will promise any of my readers, no disappointments here folks. Amazing Grace has even taken a cut in her hourly rate, from $675 per hour to $500, her idea. When I asked why, her answer in typical Grace Jamra fashion, “I want to give the clients more bang for the buck!” How often do you see divorce lawyers lowering their hourly fees? …

….We at DESPERATEEXES.COM want to wish Grace Jamra and everyone at JAMRA & JAMRA, smooth seas, a strong wind and friendly ports…

….HAPPY NEW YEAR!
