When I think of Elizabeth Taylor, I think of my Mother, let me explain; ever since I was a little kid, Liz and my Mother seemed to be living in two different worlds yet shared very similar life experiences and illness problems later in life. Sometimes the cards piled up against Liz and it seemed she wasn’t dealt a fair hand, and I could hear my mother saying, “Oh, poor Liz, I feel for her. I would love to talk with her because it seems she and I would understand each other”.

I know a lot of people feel like Liz Taylor was family to them or an inspiration; her lavish and amazing lifestyle and career were what motivated a generation. She was such a huge star that everyone feels such a strong connection to her.

You can maybe try to compare her to one of today’s new Hollywood generation crop of starlets or socialites like Paris Hilton, one of her relations, but there is no one like Liz! A lot of Hollywood’s Movie A listers claim what a huge influence she was on them and some of them may even copy her style, but to be the first of your kind is very hard to duplicate.

Beside the fact that Mom and Liz both were Pisces; they both liked lavender, they were loving and caring yet brutally honest at times, and a somewhat resemblance that in some photos was “spooky” to me… Liz would have been my Mom’s doppelganger for Face Book!

I remember Liz at a Halloween event I attended in 1998 called “Dream Halloween Children Affected by AIDS Event” at Barker Hanger at The Santa Monica Airport. She was platinum blonde! She had everyone at this event on their feet applauding when she took to the stage. She was the Fairy Godmother of AIDS causes! This was an amazing appearance for her since in 1997 she underwent brain surgery for a benign tumor. I actually couldn’t believe how great Liz looked sans her famous teased hair in her LIFE Magazine post brain tumor operation photo spread! At the event many A list stars showed up in Halloween costumes, like Jamie Lee Curtis in her “Cat” Costume. I remember when Jamie Lee was coming off the red carpet and she was twirling her cat tail and walked up to me and “purred”! Jamie is fun and never takes herself too seriously!

Liz was a very private woman, yet was very sweet and friendly and down to earth once she let you in her world. I first met Liz when she was married to Larry Fortensky. I remember Larry Fortensky and I talking one time, he just rolled in from Palm Springs and was absolutely “smitten” with Liz. Larry was not the typical “Hollywood” type of guy that you think Liz would have been with, but in reality, Larry was what she liked and needed… at that time! Liz had so many marriages to “dream guys” like Conrad Hilton, Eddie Fisher which sparked a war with Debbie Reynolds, Richard Burton and so on, that made every woman in the world dream what would it be like to have been her.

Although, Liz could be brutally honest and be a “broad” at times, and this is what made her so unique. She was strong, yet weak at times.

Her weight gains and losses made news as well as her fashion and hair choices. Her famous mole even made news! Funny, I have a mole on the same side of my face like hers, as so did my grandmother! Hmm, coincidence? Joking of course!

Whether you liked Liz for her acting, persona, charity work, her “White Diamonds” perfumes, or heck you just liked “Her”, she is a legendary lady and “STAR”… yes, all capitals,… and she will be greatly missed. I am sure she will never be forgotten, how could she?

The list of movies that she will be immortalized in; “National Velvet”, “Giant”, “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf”, “These Old Broads” her last movie, and “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and of course my personal favorite “Cleopatra”, just to name some.

The funeral for Elizabeth Taylor was held yesterday, Thursday March 24, 2011 at 2:15 PM, 15 minutes “fashionable late” per Liz’s instructions. It was a private service at the same cemetery where Michael Jackson and in the same Mausoleum as Jackson.

I remember a month before my Mother passed away she called me and Liz came up in the conversation because Liz was admitted to the hospital. My Mother said to me “I wonder who will die first, Liz or me?” Anyway, Liz is gone and she will be greatly missed. Legends Never Die.

Elizabeth Taylor is gone. I had the opportunity to have a few dealings with Miss Taylor and it was odd in so many ways. Odd in so much what I was doing was talking with, visiting in her bedroom, and assisting this Hollywood legend. But she was a delight to be with and a class act in that way very few in this town seem to be anymore.

I have had the privilege to have been involved at different levels with Doris Duke, Bernard Lafferty, Dean Martin, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee. As I have told a few today’s so-called “celebrities,” I can die now, it does not get any better than what I have had access to and enjoyed. This will be the limit to my discussing these American Legends. There will never ever be “Stars” like these people, they were the real deal, with the exception of Miss Duke and Bernard; they were both very unique in their parts in the world theater.

Miss Duke died October 28, 1993 at her home, Bernard Lafferty died November 4, 1996 at his home, Miss Peggy Lee died January 21, 2002 at her home, Mr. Sinatra died at Cedars Sinai, and now Miss Taylor also died at Cedars Sinai. An interesting note here is that almost all had visited the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills, often for one or the other’s funeral or memorial.

My dear acquaintance Jose Eber was quite possibly one of Miss Taylor’s best friends, after all he was her hairdresser. And the story goes women tell their hairdresser all of the scoop, and I have no doubt he was a close confidante. Well there was no way in the hell Jose would ever bring me anyplace near Elizabeth Taylor. Oh sure, I would hear this and that, and of course Miss Taylor and Bernard Lafferty were “friends” in what I would call in a Hollywood way. Bernard had access to millions, and he like so many adored Elizabeth Taylor, those Sunday afternoons were a real treat. And Miss Taylor’s interest was her fund raising for AIDS. Back to Jose, he as I said would have sooner cut his hair and stomped on his hat than to grant access to me. Well, I get a call one night and it is Adam, Jose’s boyfriend, Adam is the best. He tells me that he wants to go see “Elizabeth,“ my initial response was good, have a good time. Adam tells me he wants me to drive and wants to introduce me to her. I tell my son Mike that we are going to go and visit Elizabeth Taylor, Mike knowing Jose tells me, Jose is taking us? Of course not, I laugh and tell him we are going with Adam…my dear Adam is as real as it gets.

I had been working all day and picked up Adam and drove to Bel Air. There was a young kid from Israel who was working as “security.” These Israeli “security specialists” are a comical bunch of nitwits in Beverly Hills. Sure they have all worked for “Mossad,” they got the accent and most of the time it is bullshit, as I am sure this was. Why you ask? I had a .357 revolver, handcuffs, and pepper spray and no one noticed…so much for Hollywood security. Don’t get me wrong, Mossad, perhaps, parking cars, emptying trash cans, actual agents I think not.

Well, Miss Taylor had a silly little wormy guy, a real fruitcake, as her assistant and gate keeper, who I never trusted and I think that my feelings were shared with several others who will remain nameless. He sees me and runs to get the security guy, but Adam goes in and a few minutes later I hear, “John, Mike come on up,“ security is still trying to posture like he can do something about our presence and with the worm making mouth noises and frowns, he has to step aside. I am sure the worm ran to the phone to call Jose and report to him what Adam had done…Nazarian & Kid are in the house and headed for the bedroom. The look on their faces was priceless. It is out of respect for the memory of Miss Taylor that I will not discuss the nature of her reasons for our meeting…small stuff when you look at the “big picture.” As my friend Neal Hersh of Hersh, Mannis and Bogen stated recently in open court, “Nazarian knows where all the bones are buried “.

The house looked as I had seen it many times on television and up we went, to Miss Taylor’s bedroom suite. I remember seeing what looked like a velvet ottoman with a little spotlight on it, this was Sugar’s (Miss Taylor’s special pet dog) place. I think it was blue. There were one or two females present and of course Adam. Miss Taylor acted as if I was an old friend, we talked about our pets and she loved my LV date book that I was carrying and to this day I am not sure why I was carrying it. Miss Taylor loved my son Mike and they hit it off and it was at least two or three hours of laughs and fun, she was just incredible. Here was the biggest actress in the world and she acted like we had been friends for years, she was the best. We spoke briefly about my work and my thoughts on the current events and the news. I had contact with her again at other times…my thoughts on Elizabeth Taylor were grandmotherly. I thank Adam to this day for his willingness to introduce me and Mike to his friend, Elizabeth.

Footnote: there is not another person in my field that EVER has had the access that I have, and I will never betray the trust these people placed in me. They had class and most of all honor and appreciated those around them with similar behavior.

Well I decided to give the Criminal Courts Building a shot yesterday afternoon after spending the previous night and much of my day in Catalina….

…I misunderstood a friend who told me that Steve Sadow was warming up just prior to lunch and that if I hurried I could catch some of the “Sadow factor.” Best laid plans of mice and men…upon my arrival I was told by one of my eyes and ears that he had started first in the morning, and that I had missed some incredible lawyering…”it was some of the best.“ Sadow was dressed in a very nice black suit and white shirt, the usual court wear. And he was into his “step by miserable step” of trying to dismantle the “people’s” case. The people’s case was presented in Power Point and I was told it was very powerful and made all their points and was nothing short of impressive. Steve Sadow had Chris Smith as his Audio Visual guy, and would say, “Chris put this one up.” Hey Hey Hey, I am just reporting what I saw. I thought Chris did a good job…

…Sadow would mention Larry Birkhead several times, there was the methadone taken from a bag, in the closet at a hospital and how Birkhead had testified seeing Howard give Anna her methadone. However, unlike the initial testimony when everyone was telling the truth in the Bahamas, this was almost warm and fuzzy…Sadow now told the jury that Birkhead could not remember for sure…it was a warm moment. I almost cried, but I am pretty dry after this week… Sadow went on to say that Anna Nicole Smith had lost her faith in Cedars and wanted to get out of there and fast. She would leave Cedars and she would go directly back to Dr. Fabulous, aka Kapoor, he too was doing all things right! I almost felt that at the break the lawyers and defendants would hum a few verses of “we shall overcome.” …

…It almost looked like family day, Kapoor’s mother and father were sitting in the front row, and Mrs. Stern and her other son were sitting close by also. These are good people who did a hell of a job raising their kids, one’s a doctor and the other a lawyer. Eroshevich was smiling and picking lint off her lawyer (the light in the tunnel !!!)

One of the highlights of Mr. Sadow’s reviewing the facts was, “Anna was leaving Los Angeles to get rid of Larry Birkhead,” his words not mine. We did at Desperate Exes.com speak about the “Bahamian Master Plan.” Mr. Sadow also stated that Anna had gone to South Carolina for three weeks…

…It would appear that Steve Sadow was less protective of Dr. Bubbles, aka Dr. Ersohevich, and spoke of her putting the prescriptions in Howard’s name and he not knowing what Anna’s buddy was doing. Again this is my thought on what I heard, if I am mistaking I apologize. And that Howard K. Stern had a good faith belief that what the doctors did was legal and appropriate….

…The jury seemed very attentive and many were taking notes…this is good, three or four people told me that the “PowerPoint” was very very impressive, so keep talking and enunciating Mr. Sadow. In the course of the afternoon, other very insignificant people were mentioned, you know little people, potential headaches sorta people. Are you ready for this? There was mention of some silly candy for a better sexual experience! Better than a few hundred dollar bills? Hell, I will stick with…

….or did it have to be ‘cooked’, prior to being injected…..

It is the picture in this article, see red circle of the car, that spawn the gossip that Howard K. Stern was driving a new Mercedes Benz and how tasteless would that be?

First I have not seen the registration nor even the license plate number and until I do I am not buying this. It could be his parents, a rental car, one for his out of town attorneys, etc. However, what if Stern bought a “new Mercedes Benz”? I just don’t think that, it is not his kind of car and what one drives to court does not mean one owns it. Remember we have all heard the stories of Stern’s like for baseball caps and to dress down, so why a Mercedes Benz? For those of you who know cars look at the hood ornament on this silver car and tell me what kind of car it is? If Stern bought this or any other car big deal, if he got money from some of the lawsuits or contracts he negotiated and he chose to buy a new car with that money, great for him. I don’t get what all of the commotion is about. If you have a copy of a registration please scan it and send it on to us, if you prove to me he does own a new Mercedes I will eat my typed words on this blog.

It appears Stern did have one set back yesterday. Judge Robert Perry after hearing the amount of money that had been made since Anna Nicole Smith’s death from body guards to Larry Birkhead, he did agree that better accommodations should be provided to the Texas crew. So out of what is fondly called the roach motel and into better quarters Don Clark and Wilma Vicedomine were entitled to. Stern’s team had paid the airfare although the duo with their attorney Neil McCabe changed it to a later flight on Monday morning, and Stern’s team had to pay for 2 nights lodging at a classier hotel. It came down to in court who was fibbing to the judge? Chris Smith, Stern’s California criminal attorney, said he had contacted the duo and had offered 48 hours notice before appearing. Mr. Smith argued that Neil McCabe should not be allowed to address the court as he was not licensed in California. In the end the Judge did allow Mr. McCabe to speak on behalf of his two Texas clients, asked what his clients wanted, asked the defense team if they were going to call them and then split the argument in half it appears to me. Stern paid the upgrade for the lodging and McCabe’s clients would be hustled out of town by Wednesday morning.

I talked to one person involved in the fiasco to be in town or not to be in town. They said the communications between Chris Smith and Wilma Vicedomine broke down when she emailed him and told him to talk and handle things through her lawyer, Neil McCabe, and Mr. Smith felt Mr. McCabe was not licensed in California. Is there hostility there on both sides?? YOU BET!!!!

However, the big news in all of this to me is that by Howard K. Stern’s legal team subpoenaing Don Clark and Wilma Vicedomine as “hostile material” witnesses for Stern, neither Clark or Vicedomine will be allowed in court for any of the hearings including the trial. I would think that someone else will have to accompany Virgie Arthur to court each day and set with her during the jury trial. In your opinion was this a good move by Stern’s legal team?

It appears the good Dr. Nathalie Maullin is NOT an EXPERT witness, she is just a witness relaying the facts as she remembered them over two years later. I was told she had the personality of aluminum foil and would be a doctor that none of the patients including Anna Nicole Smith would have felt warm, snuggly, or even comfortable with. I went to work yesterday to find out more about Dr. Maullin with the ever changing “definitions and who she talked to” taking place in court. I can sum it up in one long sentence. She had been a doctor barely two years when she “treated” Anna Nicole Smith, and she has been downgraded from the prestigious Cedars Sinai Medical Center to Kaiser Hospital. Enough said.

The other two witnesses yesterday were two pharmacists, Steve Mazlin and Romeo V. Par; very dry testimony reading their records of what was ordered when and by whom.

There was a brief walk on witness to testify that one of Anna Nicole Smith’s alias names was Charlene Underwood and Ms. Underwood made a cameo appearance as this was not her.

Judge Robert J. Perry did not have a good day and is a tad upset with everyone, by yesterday afternoon he was telling Renee Rose to move the case along. Some in the court house heard her say out of court she could be finished by Friday before noon. Court Observers are betting it will last no longer than next Tuesday, October 27. Several Court Observers also said that all three defendants would be bound over for a criminal jury trial and Judge Perry would be happy to be rid of this mess from everyone. I would imagine he has empathy for the judge that inherits this for trial. BEFORE ALL OF YOU GET UPSET!!! Remember I predicted they would be held for trial on a minimum bond, the district attorney has to basically meet the bar of standards of a ham and cheese sandwich and the pharmacists alone probably did that for the prosecution. Judge Perry wants to be done with this. This preliminary hearing has allowed the defense team to see the assistant D. A. Renee Rose in action as well as some of her star witnesses and you can bet that by trial the defense team for each of the three defendants will be loaded for bear and ready to meet and bring reasonable doubt for their clients to a jury. It was Adam Braun, Dr. Khristine Eroshevich’s attorney, who said if the district attorney’s office could not meet the low hurdle required by California statute in a preliminary hearing the assistant district attorneys should be laid off. I agree and if I was any of the defense attorneys I would just let this round go to the State of California. We will see if my prediction is correct.

Now for Mo Mo making over a hundred and fifty thousand with money from interviews which is still probably pouring in from Fox, not bad for five months of work in the beautiful Caribbean with Anna Nicole Smith paying all of his expenses while he was there. His testimony is going to get to when did you lie, at the paid media deals or now at the hearing and on to the jury trial. If Sadow did in fact cause Mo Mo to become angry and agitated then the defense learned a lot from Mo Mo’s three days of testimony and I would bet they are going to go over that transcript with a fine tooth comb so to say. If I was Renee Rose I would make sure there were more people then just Mo Mo that saw what he claims to have seen, if he is the only one I predict that will not get far with a jury.

Next up is Larry Birkhead and the 2.3 million dollars paid since Anna Nicole Smith’s death, well part of it came from NBC contracts to be Tony Potts best paid friend with exclusives for 3 to 6 months back in the spring of 2007, how ever long that contract was for. So the over one million more I would say came from other media like Fox and CBS – Entertainment tonight, and I wonder if Birkhead was also adding up the magazine layouts he has done with Dannielynn since winning the DNA test? If he can make this kind of money GREAT, it means he has the dough to take care of his daughter.

I was sent an excerpt of something that suggested Birkhead was pocketing Dannielynn’s money and cheating Dannielynn trust account, WRONG. If Larry Birkhead is in the interviews or pictures sold, the money goes to him. If the money coming in is for the use of Anna Nicole Smith’s name and/or likeness it goes into Dannielynn’s trust account. IF at a later date Birkhead decides to be in a reality show, which again I heard the first editing was a bomb, then the money MADE by Dannielynn would have to be held for her in another trust account NOT the Estates. The same goes for if she appears in pictures alone or begins to model, that money would have to be held and accounted for, EVERY penny. Since Birkhead testified that he had made that much money there is no reason to doubt him. Birkhead has also become a household name in the last 2+ years as has many in this sad saga.

The big question is did Larry Birkhead lie about the young new assistant district attorney Sarah Slice and his conversation with her. If these allegations floating around the courthouse corridors and the district attorneys office are true and Birkhead did lie what a crappy thing to do to a young assistant district attorney, in my opinion. She was back in court yesterday and all was normal and she has learned to NEVER talk to a witness outside of the courtroom. The reason is because in court it can be spun to look like you did a naughty and the witness is the victim. I do have to say this fiasco got Birkhead international coverage and bumped Mo Mo from the papers, perhaps that was the plan all alone. If Birkhead lied about his conversations with Ms. Slice then shame on him to take advantage of a new and probably friendly attorney. I bet in all future hearings involving this trial, the state of California vs. these three defendants we will see two big burly bailiffs bring Birkhead in and out of court and Sarah Slice will never forget this hard learned lesson in the legal world of the rich and famous.

I have often said this site will close before it becomes a propaganda site for either side in all of these lawsuits. However, if I am told something and I can verify it through at least one and preferably with two other independent sources it will appear here and hopefully start a good dialogue.

I hope we have debunked part of the gossip and put perspective on the rest, and yes it was the courthouse discussion as it was in the offices for the district attorney that the allegations of Birkhead lying is true, I guess we will find out with time won’t we?

There is no court today and I believe the rest of the witnesses are not going to give us the fireworks that Mo Mo and Birkhead provided.

UPDATE: I did forget to mention that there is of course some main media in the courtroom as well as bloggers covering the case. Those bloggers sharing with me or telling me where to look, they are great and neutral…. HOWEVER, there are some bloggers in the courtroom that do not appear to be fair and unbiased, they have been identified as VA bloggers and now their identities are known and they will be dealt with appropriately.

So what is in Howard K. Stern’s hand?

Day six is completed and there is approximately 4 days left until Judge Perry hands this entire mess over to the trial judge for the case. Tell us your thoughts and would someone look up the car in this picture and tell us what the hell it is?
