You’ll recall at the last hearing there was a large supportive crowd, a showing of friends and relatives of Lauren Ann Freeman that made quite an impression on the court. My feeling is that the world, so to speak, was watching what was going to be done to Ryan Bowman. He hit and killed a young girl, Lauren, and drove on with little or no thought, other than what I believe was to figure out a way to cover the horrible deed he had just committed. You know, abandon the new Bentley with lights on, keys in ignition, car running and, did I hear, took the license plates off the car…nice touch, Mr. Bowman, very nice touch. And thus, you will always be known as the “Scum From Down Under.”
Well, it was not till the following morning that his “male” passenger decided to turn himself into the West L.A. Sheriff’s Department. My sources tell me that he was traumatized after Bowman hit and killed Lauren. After a nice shower, a light breakfast and phone calls to whoever he thought could lower the heat on his cowardly ass, Mr. Bowman decided to turn himself in. Sure, well-rested and certainly any of the festivities and beverages from the previous night at the Four Seasons Hotel on Burton Way and Doheny in Beverly Hills would be gone or almost impossible to detect — again, all of this is my sole speculation. I am not mentioning the name of the “male” passenger at this time, perhaps later.
….By the way, a system that is broken and at some point will collapse, and I almost forgot, a system that I have little respect for anymore. If our legal system and many of the components were a game in a casino in Las Vegas, I believe it would be shut down for “questionable gaming practices,” my thoughts.
…but in about an hour I will have tears running down my face as two parents describe for the court how their once perfect lives have been destroyed by the “scum from down under,” Ryan Bowman. Truly one of my worst days.
…There was a 9 minute film and soft music showing Lauren Ann Freeman, from a little girl to a young woman in the glory of her life. There was one lady in the courtroom who picked up a box of Kleenex and passed it out.
I cannot remember in recent years my being so emotionally wrecked as I sat and watched the short film, then friends came forward and addressed the court. Each and every one was as tearful and heartfelt as the previous one. Then Steve, Donna and Andrew Freeman stepped forward. I sat and watched as Steve and Donna broke down again and again as people spoke, and now it was their turn. Steve looked at Ryan Bowman and addressing the court stated, “What I can’t understand is how the defendant could leave my little girl in the street like a piece of trash.” I have been with Steve and Donna for months, and heard the pain still fresh in his voice. Later on as Steve, Donna and Andrew stood and looked at Bowman, Steve again looked at him and in a tone that you would have had to be present to understand said, “Like a piece of trash on the road…my little girl.”
All of this was very difficult for me to have to deal with, but this is what I do, I work with and help families who have been devastated by the scum bags, hoodlums, grifters and people like Ryan Bowman. Andrew Freeman, Lauren’s brother, looked at Bowman and stated, “I will never forget what you did here.“…

…Steve Freeman mentioned in his address to the court that Lauren’s diploma came one month after she was killed by Bowman, one month and Lauren never got to see it. It was at or around this time that Judge Eldon Fox removed his glasses and wiped his eyes. The entire court room was in the grips of an emotional roller coaster that seemed impossible to stop. Mr. Bowman’s lawyer Blair Berk also looked drained. Ms. Berk is a mom, too…strapped with the task of a defense attorney. I have it from very close sources that she is a very nice person. And for you who want to complain about Ms. Berk, send it someplace else, she has a job and does it.
……Ryan Bowman will be doing his time in an absolutely wonderful place, located in one of the most picturesque locations in California, Seal Beach.

…Seal Beach Police Department, 911 Seal Beach Blvd. Seal Beach, California 90740…Please I want all of my readers to visit this “Official” website for Seal Beach Detention Services, this is just wonderful for all you rich SOB’s who commit crimes and kill people. This site almost reminds me of camp, you know get a little physical, “bring the following items”…if you or one of your ass-wipe friends need to start the process call 562-799-4100 ext. 1117 and talk softly, don’t want to wake the resting shitheads! Females cannot be sentenced to the Seal Beach Detention Center…hmm, that is interesting, perhaps the gods of shit and misery knew one day Ryan Bowman would be staying here?

… “…Returning offenders to society as contributing members of the community”…sure at one hundred dollars a day, VIP room and board…if you don’t think that the rich and powerful are treated differently visit my world one day…….
Be sure and read the complete article by John J. Nazarian at Desperate Exes.com. You might want to visit the “Bar Association” website for Seal Beach Detention Center to see all of the “perks”.

As it has been reported Steve and Donna Freeman have retained the services of a local law firm to sue Ryan Bowman. John J. Nazarian was asked to ‘serve’ court papers on Ryan Bowman after sentencing, Friday March 11, 2011, as he left the courtroom…..it is not nice to serve people in the court room. Quite frankly Nazarian is not sure why that is, but he has been asked several times through the years not to.
Well, Nazarian waited outside of Judge Fox’s courtroom for Ryan Bowman to leave, Nazarian was talking to one of the deputies when Bowman exited the court and turned left. This was not the way he was supposed to come out, as the elevators are to the right. Well Nazarian walked briskly towards Ryan Bowman, shouting, “ Mr. Bowman”, “Mr. Bowman I have court papers for you” and when he looked at Nazarian it was shear terror…….Nazarian threw the papers at Bowman and stated, “ You have been served “. A couple of the deputies who were escorting Bowman out tried to block Nazarian…..Nazarian guess was that they thought he was a potential threat! “Me!, [Nazarian], I am almost 60 years old, bad back and all kinds of medical issues…..me a threat? Give me a break, I’m an old softy…..Ryan, the look on your face? Priceless….LMAO!” (Talk about threat, if Mr. Bowman was just common scum he would be going to the county jail and having to deal with a different kind of ‘ girls gone wild’…..that would be a threat, not me, I am old. Ryan, when you sleep in a jail…. Just my, [Nazarian], two cents again, mate! )
All Nazarian can tell us is that Bowman turned to look at him as if Nazarian was going to chew on Bowman’s neck, he put his hands up and coward against one of the females walking with him. The papers fell to the ground and Bowman stepped over them, as did his lawyer, Blair Berk, when she walked back to take the other elevators down. It makes no difference, he was served and can get ready to defend himself again, more money and more lawyers.

And Nazarian’s buddy the photographer, got a great photo of Ryan Bowman leaving the court house…….for all of you photographers, remember to take sun screen when you visit the SEAL BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT…….perhaps you can get a picture of Bowman playing basketball or jogging.

ONE-time high-flying Australian entrepreneur Ryan Bowman sat and listened to the heartbreaking words from a family destroyed by his actions.
At the end of the emotionally-charged proceedings, Bowman, a 34-year-old Queenslander who helped launch the GirlsGoneWild soft porn business in Australia, would be sentenced to just under a year in jail and be allowed perks most inmates in California’s overcrowded prison system could only dream about.
But first, he had to come face-to-face with the family members and friends of a woman he never met – fashion designer Lauren Ann Freeman.
Bowman’s Bentley struck the 21-year-old Lauren Ann Freeman with enough force to catapult her body over 50 feet in the air. Freeman’s promising young life ended in a bloody, crumpled mess on Sunset Boulevard while he drove off leaving her to die.
Ryan Bowman drove his luxury Bentley a couple of miles away from where he killed Lauren and left it abandoned in a residential area of West Hollywood. He then left the key in the ignition, the doors unlocked and fled. Authorities suspected he hoped someone would steal the Bentley. How convenient then he could say I didn’t kill that young beautiful girl, it was someone else. After police found the car, poor Ryan could not use his car stolen overnight alibi, the next day Bowman accompanied by one of LA’s top lawyers, Blair Berk, turned himself in to LA County Sheriffs.

Per the article in The Australian.com in quotes from the courtroom relayed what Steven Freeman, Lauren’s father said during an emotional address to the court “What I can’t understand is how the defendant could leave my little girl in the street like a piece of trash.” A few moments later, Mr. Freeman stopped talking, looked across at Bowman, and for five chilling seconds locked eyes with him. When Mr. Freeman opened his mouth again per The Australian.com, he erupted, maintaining his glare at Bowman and releasing some of the pain his wife, Donna, 24-year-old son Andrew and friends and family had endured since losing Lauren in such a violent way.
“Like a piece of trash on the road,” Mr. Freeman yelled. “My little girl.”
The article went on to say that Mr. Freeman’s statement to the Court was one of nine tear-filled, victim impact statements verbally delivered by Lauren’s family members and friends. A nine-minute video presentation showing photographs of Lauren as a baby, through to the last photos taken of her was played for the Court.
In Mr. Freeman further told the court that he, Lauren’s mother and brother Andrew Freeman have been so traumatized they are on medication and are seeing a psychiatrist.
Per the article in The Australian.com Mr. Freeman told the court and Mr. Bowman in detail how when he said goodbye to Lauren in the morgue her hands had to be covered by gloves because they were so damaged and when he kissed her face it was “freezing cold”.
Bowman, breathing heavily and his voice shaking, stood and told the Freemans he was “ashamed” and “will be forever haunted” by Lauren’s death. Sure he will be for the next 6 months as Mr. Bowman said what was required of him for this sweetheart deal. Bowman on cue with tears running down his face said; “I didn’t stop my car and I wasn’t there as I should have been to see if I could help Lauren,” Bowman, a co-founder of mobile phone marketing business mConnect that he sold for $8 million last year, told them.
Witnesses in the Court Room said even Judge Elden Fox had tears in his eyes and had to get Kleenex and then had to take a break saying he admitted he was rocked by the tragic case because he had a son and daughter about the same age as the Freemans’ children.
Bowman was originally arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence which carried a hefty jail sentence. But, under the deal, it was slashed to a lesser charge of leaving the scene of a collision.
Ryan Bowman’s jail sentence filled with perks
Bowman was sentenced to 364 days in jail at the Seal Beach Police Detention Center. The Seal Beach Police Detention Center which boasts a newly renovated kitchen, library, commissary, and single “room” with in-room, [we don’t call them cells], cable television with a movie library. It also has a large outdoor recreational area with basketball equipment and picnic tables. Our “Pay to Stay” CLIENTS’ in good standing may have full family visitation periods. The center is located along the north Orange County coastline, boasts of moderated temperatures with a pleasant climate and it is private. Our clients, [we never refer to you as a prisoner], would normally not do well with the violent offenders found in “crowded jails where real danger lurks”. You get all of this for $100.00 a day and we hope you enjoy your stay as one of our “clients”. You can also bring your MP3 player with headphones, pictures to put in your private room as long as they are not pornographic and no tacky “prisoner suit” we let you wear your own jeans, shirts, bath robe, and suggest you bring a jugging suit and shoes for your comfort. The only requirement is that you get a clean bill of health and that you are sentenced to less than a year. We allow you to leave once a week for business meetings and once a month to visit your personal physician. We have a fully trained emergency medical team at the Center to handle any medical emergency that occurs until we can get you to your physician or the hospital of your choice.
We have 30 rooms and you can have up to a 2 hour daily visitation with family and friends, Bring your iPod, books, magazines and games. Be sure and bring your first $100.00 in cash with you to shop in our commissary. We suggest you bring an inexpensive watch and not your normal watch. WE DO NOT ACCEPT VIOLENT OFFENDERS, unless you have a damn good defense lawyer that can talk the D. A. into asking that you be exempted. We promise we will never allow anyone to ever refer to you as a killer while you are a client at our center.
Bowman has until Saturday to turn himself into the Seal Beach Center. With good behavior, Bowman will likely be released in a little over six months. After he completes the jail term, Bowman will have four years of probation and will be allowed to return to Australia during that period.
NOW HERE IS THE SWEETEST PART OF THE DEAL BOWMAN MADE:
If Bowman does not violate his probation, the conviction will be reduced to a misdemeanor at the end of this time (a total of about 4 and ½ years) and expunged from his criminal record.
It took classy people, which Steven, Donna and Andrew Freeman to have agreed to the plea and the “center” Mr. Bowman will be living at for the next few months. I don’t think I could do that with anyone who killed my child
Now this is the reason we all love John J. Nazarian, the Freemans have launched a civil lawsuit against Bowman, with the family’s private investigator, John J Nazarian, serving Bowman as he left court. Sadly not a very “bright” ending to a very sad day.

This brings back a saying I remember saying every day at the start of school when I was young: “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and JUSTICE for all”. No wonder lady justice wears a blindfold, it is probably to hide her tears that there is nothing equal in justice for all, but there are perks for the very rich. I think we should all cry with Lady Justice today for Lauren Ann Freeman being denied Justice just because the guy who killed her is rich!

Ryan Bowman is to be sentenced this morning in Judge Elden Fox‘s Beverly Hills Courtroom following a plea deal he reached last week with the District Attorney. As part of the deal Ryan Bowman has admitted he was driving the luxury Bentley car that struck and killed 21-year-old fashion designer Lauren Ann Freeman as she crossed Sunset Boulevard at the Hammond Street intersection just before midnight on November 10 as she was hailing a taxi upon leaving the Roxy Theater. Miss Freeman’s friends said she was hailing a taxi because she had been drinking that night and did not want to drive. The plea agreement is a felony guilty plea to a lesser charge of leaving the scene of a collision, while the original charge was vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. Lauren Ann Freeman was thrown fifty feet and Bowman as we all know now just kept on driving leaving the young woman to die. His luxury car was found abandoned missing a piece of the front end of his gray-and-black vehicle which was left at the site of the murdered Lauren Ann Freeman. The Bentley had been stripped of its license plates.
Bowman was originally facing a lengthy prison sentence when sheriffs arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence after he surrendered to them the day after the hit and run death of Freeman; and after he had hired a top criminal defense attorney, Blair Berk Esq.
Talking about the rich and famous versus the rest of us Australia The Sydney Morning Herald reported earlier today that; ” The jails are nicknamed “five-star Hiltons” and offer privileges the general prison population often do not receive.
Inmates approved for pay-to-stay prison sentences pay between $85 to $135 a day for a separate cell and privileges vary depending on the facility. Some of these California pay-to-stay prisoners have access to a phones in their cell, can wear their own jeans and t-shirts and have access to microwaveable food like popcorn or frozen dinners. Some prisoners can also serve pay-to-stay sentences part-time, checking themselves into jail each weeknight or weekend.” Sounds kind of like a Comfort Inn.
WOW what a deal for killing a young girl, wonder if it comes with an ocean view or is located in California’s wine country? I wonder if they will make his bed and put a chocolate on the pillow every night.
The DA’s office, as well as Bowman’s lawyer Blair Berk have declined comment on the plea deal and Bowman’s expected jail sentence. “At this time we are not confirming any terms of the plea until after sentencing,” a DA spokesperson told The Sydney Morning Herald.
Freeman’s family spokesman, John J. Nazarian, said Lauren’s grieving parents, Steve and Donna Freeman, will be joined by a large large contingent of family and friends when Judge Elden Fox sentences Bowman.
As soon as we know how much time Mr. Bowman receives this morning we will be updating this article.
UPDATE: Under a plea deal Ryan Bowman was sentenced to 364 days in a private LA jail facility, with good behavior, Bowman is expected to be released after serving a little more than six months of that. Bowman will also be placed on four years’ probation after his release from jail. Judge Elden Fox confirmed that after an emotional sentencing hearing, where Lauren Ann Freeman’s parents, Steve and Donna Freeman, as well as her brother and friends addressed the court. Bowman also offered an apology to the family.
An Hispanic youth received life in a similar case of a a hit and run in California earlier this month, WOW, Justice is for those that can afford it and there is nothing about equal justice under the law here in the gold ole U.S.A. At least he has enough money to face a lawsuit from Freeman’s family.

Friday the 25th of February will be a day that the Beverly Hills court house won’t forget soon. It was another hearing in Judge Eldon S. Fox’s court to see what “the system” was going to do with Ryan Bowman, the accused hit and run killer of Lauren Ann Freeman. More than 40 friends and relatives showed up to make a statement that the world and at least Los Angeles is watching and listening to what takes place here in the form of “justice.” Lauren Ann Freeman is no longer with us, and what the Los Angeles District Attorney and Judge Fox do is going to leave a lasting impression on those who have a desire to hit pedestrians and leave the scene of an accident.
It does not get any simpler than that. What I have always told my boys and as I was told by my father, if you hit someone or something, STOP it is an accident. When you flee the scene with a body laying in the street, not only is it shamelessly, heartlessly and criminally WRONG, you leave most people with the thought of WHY? In this case I think we all know why but it is not for us to make those decisions. However, someone’s daughter is dead, friends still grieve for the loss of Lauren and how she was left to die on Sunset Boulevard, those are the facts.
Bowman was present with his lawyer, Blair Berk, Esq. I have to tell you she has a real presence in that courtroom. …after all Barry Tarlow has been a friend of mine for years.

Los Angeles Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley said no decision had been made about whether to charge Mel Gibson in the domestic violence case involving his former girlfriend.
In a released statement today Cooley’s web site states; “Allegations of domestic violence involving Mel Gibson are actively under review by the District Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Gibson’s attorneys met yesterday with Airport Branch prosecutors and provided information they felt was relevant to the matter. Information received will be taken into account in deciding whether or not to file charges.
Any decisions made by the D.A.’s office in this case will be made public in a timely manner.”
This statement was prompted by a RadarOnline.com exclusive yesterday stating that charges could be imminent for Mel Gibson involving an allegation of domestic violence by Oksana Grigorieva and her attorneys.
Blair Berke, Gibson’s criminal attorney, met for 2 hours yesterday with Deputy District Attorney John Lynch, to try to avoid any felony or misdemeanor criminal charges being filed on her client Gibson.
The L. A. Times is reporting that L.A. County sheriff’s investigators have spent months looking into whether Gibson struck ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
Officials have said that case is closely tied to another investigation into whether someone tried to extort money from Gibson.
Sources have told the Los Angeles Times that prosecutors won’t make a decision on the case until the Sheriff’s Department has finished its inquiry into claims that Grigorieva or someone close to her attempted to extort money from Gibson.
News of the meeting Tuesday was first reported by Radar Online.com.
So a messy custody dispute is now bringing criminal investigations of extortion and domestic violence as Gibson and Grigorieva continue allegations against each other in what is becoming an increasing potential volatile custody dispute over their one year old daughter Lucia.
More lawyers are being added by both sides which brings to mind the old saying, “If you have the money, we have the time”.

Yes I intentionally misspelled “pour” in the title.
This week on January 18, TMZ.com reported that Mel Gibson got hit with a $163,000 legal bill by the mother of his daughter, Lucia, Oksana Grigorieva’s lawyers. TMZ reported that attorney, Alan Shifman sent Gibson a bill to the tune of $163k for about one month of service in what is becoming a revolving doors of hearings with allegations flying.
Not to be out done RadarOnline.com covered an exclusive that L. A. county prosecutors are expected to charge Gibson with domestic violence following the allegation by Grigorieva that Gibson became violent on January 6, 2011. Grigorieva claims Gibson punched her twice in the head and broke two of her teeth as she held their one-year-old daughter Lucia during the January 6 domestic dispute
Reportedly criminal lawyer Blair Berk made her trip to the Los Angeles district attorneys office today to try to talk to the D. A. not to file charges and arrest Gibson on this recent volley of fire works between the two parents of Lucia. RadarOnline.com quotes unnamed sources that there was a reported two-hour meeting with Berk and Deputy District Attorney John Lynch at the Airport Courthouse.
Last week on January 12, after Gibson’s attorney leaked a story alleging that Oksana Grigorieva had been bribing a witness The accusation of bribing a witness was made by Mel Gibson’s legal team. That allegation was denied by Grigorieva’s attorneys.
RadarOnline.com article states that: “Law enforcement sources connected said before the meeting, that it was almost inevitable that Gibson, 55, would be charged. A charge of domestic violence/corporal injury involving a former cohabitant is looming for the Oscar-winning actor/director, sources said. It can be prosecuted as a felony or misdemeanor. If convicted of a felony, Mel Gibson could face up to four years in state prison; if convicted of a misdemeanor, he could face up to one year in county jail. While Berk made her bid, multiple sources, all with intimate knowledge of the situation, said the District Attorney had made its stunning decision in the last few days to prosecute the award-winning movie star.”
If Mel Gibson did in fact become violent and abusive with Grigorieva, and there is more evidence then just her testimony in the custody dispute, the district attorney will take another look at her allegations and if they decide to move on this Gibson will be hiring a whole new team of lawyers.
Like I said when it rains it pours in this ongoing saga of who did what to whom and on what day. Don’t you just love Hollywerid?
