Our very own Lyndal Harrington received a personal invite along with some of the famous who’s who of Beverly Hills and those people important in Anna Nicole Smith’s life to the book signing kick off party. It was an honor for Lyndal to be invited but the close relationship she has developed with Patrik during all of these interviews, I believe have gone from an on the record interview to a real personal friendship. BRAVO to our very on Lyndal Harrington for doing such a good job, from April 1 up through today and ongoing, on these series of interviews with Pol’ and Patrik. We hope we have additional interviews with them as they wind through the pitfalls of their own legal embroilment in these lawsuits.
As Rose Speaks winds up our exclusive coverage and interviews with Pol’ and Patrik, there are a few things you will only be able to read here. Including, they say stay tuned as they plan a COMPLETE TELL ALL book on Anna Nicole Smith and those in her life and all of the secrets hidden that we don’t know about. That book will be out between 3 to 6 months from now. Can the life and death of Anna Nicole Smith with yet more inside information do well in a market with so many tell all books? Pol and Patrik hope so.
Patrik did give us a peek into the deposition he had with all of the lawyers on May 27, yes, they moved his deposition up by one day. Patrik had called me on the morning of May 28, from his home, sounding very ill, with what appeared to be a relapse with the flu he had been battling for the last few weeks. However, Patrik did want to make a full disclosure that during one of Pol and Patrik’s many yearly trips to New York in regards to The Modeling Association International, which Patrik sits on the board, they did have dinner with “Liz”, her assistant and Rita in mid March 2008, something that he had forgotten to tell us during the exhaustive phone calls involved in these interviews. The rest of this paragraph has been pulled by concerns of Pol’ and Patrik in regards to their deposition, this will be replaced with an official statement from Pol’ and Patrik’s lawyers as soon as we receive it.
One last note for those sites that are saying they had “written interviews” with Pol’ and Patrik and so that is what Rose Speaks had also, WRONG, we have had extensive phone contact with Patrik and a few times with Pol’. For those naysayers I would just echo what Patrik said in the past, Pol and Patrik’s home phone, cell phone, business and fax numbers will show that we did in fact have many calls for many hours in compiling these interviews.

Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson will be appearing on the television celebrity show Extra on Wednesday May 28th. This will be the kick off of their tribute book to their friend Anna Nicole Smith, Portrait of an Icon. The interview was partially done in the studio of Extra but some of it was filmed at Pol’ Atteu’s Contour Boutique. Perhaps we will get to see some of the gorgeous designs for Anna Nicole Smith.
Pol’ and Patrik will barely catch their breath following the Tuesday show of Extra before each being deposed for seven to eight hours in Los Angeles by subpoena from Rita Cosby and Hachette Books. Patrik Simpson will be deposed on May 28, 2008 and Pol’ Atteu on May 29, 2008. My first question is wouldn’t it have been better for Rita Cosby to talk with them BEFORE the book came out then to have to pay the legal expenses to depose them now? Can you imagine the powerhouse lawyers that will be present during those depositions, from Elizabeth McNamara for Ms. Cosby, Douglas Maynard and Deborah Newman for Hachette Books. Then add Lin Wood, Luke Lantta and John Patton for Howard K. Stern; two lawyers for Pol and Patrik, and they are going to need a huge room to accommodate that many plus the staff doing the depositions. This should be the making of two fun days of questions and answers NOT.
I am assuming since Ms. Cosby and Hachette Books lawyers are the ones doing the deposing they feel Pol’ and Patrik will be helpful to their case or are they on a fishing expedition? We were given copies of the Subpoenas for Oral Depositions on condition of anonymity therefore, Rose Speaks downloads open to all visitors, not just registered members is the only place you can pick up copies of these papers. Those papers can be downloaded under the Howard K. Stern vs. Rita Cosby and Hachette books in our download section. We still have not been able to reach Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson’s lawyers to check to see if Pol’ and Patrik have filed or are going to file Motions to Quash any parts of the Subpoenas nor do we know if any records are being asked for the depositions. If we get a statement from their attorneys, we will be adding that to this article.
We have also added new papers under the Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson vs. Jody “Baby Doll” Gibson and Corona Books, again open to ALL not just members. Two of the more interesting papers that you will only find here at Rose Speaks are two letters. One is a letter from Lin Wood to Pol’ and Patrik threatening to sue them because of their books of Anna Nicole Smith, Portrait of an Icon. The other is a response letter from Pol’ and Patrik’s lawyers back to Lin Wood threatening to sue Howard K. Stern and the Estate.

Patrik Simpson and Pol’ Atteu reveal more about their friendship with Anna Nicole Smith as they answer your questions below. Patrik thinks maybe I sent the virus I had through the phone lines, he and Shelby were pretty sick and Pol’ was taking care of them both as Pol’ never seems to catch what is going around. Pol’ is super at multi-tasking going from fashion to cooking for the family. Patrik has been playing catch up this last week and that is the reason behind the answers to your questions taking awhile coming from them, also, they wanted to take their time in the answers to you … our members. Yes, they have read the site and appreciate the support from Rosespeaks.com for the interviews, covering all the lawsuits and the support from YOU our members.
They come across as wonderful parents and they both have a mighty big heart. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know them and being able to be ourselves while chit chatting about all things from Anna Nicole Smith to haircuts to sharing stories and proud moments about our daughters.
Look for them on Extra this week in an exclusive interview with Carlos Diaz. They met Carlos Diaz while in the Bahamas, so it was a very comfortable interview. They will be in the studio with Carlos and at the Pol’ Atteu Boutique showing off some of Pol’s one of a kind dresses’ made for Anna. We only know at this time… the interview on Extra will be on one day this week, during “sweeps week”, when they find out for sure what day…. They will let us know first!
Here are the questions and answers by Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson from our members.
1. Though I knew the why’s of Anna Nicole going to the Bahamas I’m wondering if once there, before Daniel died, if she was happy? She was happy to be away from the tabloids/paps and those that wanted to intrude on her every move? I know she made her living in front of cameras and I think that’s where the idea came to plug the new show. She could still do her thing and make a living and then escape it all. We never saw paps climbing the walls, or sitting in trees trying to get the money shot while she was there. If Daniel Smith hadn’t died, I envision her to finally have found some peace and comfort where she could have raised her daughter. Am I off the mark or just wishful thinking.
Answer: Yes. Before anyone knew Anna was in the Bahamas, she had a little time to get some much needed R & R. The Bahamas was going to be her safe haven. A place where she could “let her hair down” and relax and have her baby without the prying eyes of the paparazzi. She told us before she left we should buy a house next to hers. We had looked at a few properties there. Sadly, her safe haven turned out to be her worst nightmare. If Daniel Smith had never passed away, Anna would have been able to find the peace and solace she so desperately sought.
2. I wonder if Pol’ and Patrik have thought about doing a line of classy dresses for women 12 and up?
Answer: Two things. First, Patrik is the owner of Network International Models & Talent in Beverly Hills. Pol’ is the Couture Designer. Pol’ made many dresses for Anna when she was plus size & when she was thin. He fits women of all shapes and sizes. His specialty has always been high fashion couture, but coming soon will be a contemporary line of clothing. The new casual line will be affordable and mainstream. We are both excited about it’s upcoming debut. Plus both of us are creating a men’s line coming soon. Our daughter Shelby is getting into the design business, too. Shelby and Pol’ are working on a new teen line that they are designing together.
3. Did they see more then friends when it came to Anna & Howard’s relationship?
Answer: Yes. They were more than just friends. The commitment that they had to each other exhibited the true nature of their relationship.
4. How did Daniel Smith feel about Howard K. Stern and what do they think of the PI that said Daniel was scared and concerned about Howard, or was it more like Daniel was worried about Anna’s friends Ford Shelly and G. Ben Thompson?
Answer: Daniel and Howard were like brothers more than a father-son relationship. They hung out together many many times.
5. Did Anna Nicole Smith talk about her childhood with them?
Answer: Yes. Many times. The stories and intimate details that Anna confided in with us about her childhood and her relationships with her mother, brother and step-father are a complete book in itself. We printed the email in our book in which Anna describes her mother as a monster only to show everyone what Anna thought of her mother. Those were NOT our words, but Anna’s.
6. I have a question for Pol’ and Patrik did they know either of the Hattens?
Answer: No. We had not heard of Jackie Hatten until after Daniel died. She came to the Bahamas house while we were there, and Anna told “Big” Moe, Anna’s bodyguard and friend, to tell her to go away. We spoke to Jackie after Anna passed away. Patrik spoke with her on the phone when she reached out to offer her condolences. They have spoken on the phone a few times. I’m sure one day they will meet face to face.
7. I actually have a question for Pol ‘and Patrik. What is their secret to balancing their careers and raising the beautiful daughter they have? It’s hard with working parents as sometimes my own husband is putting in double shifts.
Answer: The key to success is the balance of mutual love and respect we have for one another and our family unit. We maintain an unprecedented commitment to each other. Our daughter is always first no matter what we do. She comes even before us or our businesses. NO matter how busy we all are, we ALWAYS have a night every week that we spend the ENTIRE evening togther. Pol’ is an exceptional Fmother (we explain that in our book) and keeps Shelby pretty well-grounded.
8. First of all, if you don’t mind me asking, why do you spell it ‘Pol’?
Answer: Because of the way it is supposed to be pronounced. My mother had a strong Armenian accent and that’s way she said my name. It’s pronounced POLE not Paul. Out of respect for my deceased mother I honor the way she pronounced my name.
9. What did you think when you saw Ford Shelley trash your $5,000.00 dress?
Answer: I didn’t know that happened. If it did, it doesn’t matter. I know how beautiful my designs are. I put love and devotion into everything I create no matter what their social scale is. If my name is going to be on that dress I make sure it’s the best in fit, design and quality. The key is to make sure my clients walk away from me feeling like a million bucks. Any woman that has worn one of my dresses can tell you from firsthand knowledge what an amazing experience it is to wear a Pol’ Atteu.
10. How did you get involved with that sketchyass publisher in the first place?
Answer: Ms. Gibson came to Pol’s boutique for a dress. Our publicist referred her to us. We are very kind and generous people, and sometimes a little to trusting. She said she had a small publishing company and she really made us believe she cared about the project and would make sure a beautiful tribute book was put together. It was important for us to make sure the book had a certain level of class and elegance to it, and that it would be a “must-have” for all of Anna’s fans. We wanted a book that was easy to read, had some very beautiful pictures and showed the intimate friendship we shared with Anna. When it became CLEAR to us that the “convicted felon” could NOT accomplish this, we terminated our agreement and published the book through Kings Road Publishing.
11. In your book you said that right before Anna died she was cramping with a lot and bleeding- do you think she could have been pregnant?
Answer: We knew Anna had wanted another baby after Dannielynn. If you remember, she kept teasing about that. Anna had wanted to start a new family in the Bahamas. She said she wanted another girl. I don’t know if she could ever had a boy, it never would have been the same without Daniel.
12. Do you think that Anna is proud of Howard now? (For getting her buried next to her son and doing everything he can within his power to keep her baby girl safe)
Answer: Yes. I’m sure Anna is proud of all of us who fought tirelessly to make sure that HER wishes were carried out. Patrik sat right next to Anna Nicole when she picked out the burial plots, and was very CLEAR that there had to be enough plots for them all to be buried together. She was also VERY CLEAR about wanting J. Howard Marshall’s ashes placed in the casket with her. I know that she is looking down on us from heaven, smiling and happy, that we were able to honor what she wanted. Anna was so stubborn when she was alive. We had to make sure HER wishes were followed after she was gone.
13. If you are willing to, explain the effect Anna and Daniel’s Smith death has had on Howard K. Stern.
Answer: Anna’s death was completely devastating for all of us that loved her. I don’t think Howard has ever been the same since she passed away. I know we haven’t. Anna was like this “light” in our lives that always knew how to make us smile. We loved each other with no conditions and no boundaries. As we said in our book, we maybe didn’t always agree with the choices she made, but as her friend we gave her our love and support. It’s never been the same without her. I miss her funny little text messages, her blatant statements and her undeniable charm and appeal she had on us.
14. Do you think that Larry Birkhead feels any guilt towards Anna’s death? (i.e. Debra “Anna and Howard are dying Dannielynn’s hair” Opri)
Answer: We never knew of Anna dying the baby’s hair?!? I can only say that people don’t change. If there was an agenda before Anna died, I’m sure there is an agenda now. When Anna was alive, she protected her children. Any parent does.
15. Years ago, Hollywood was known for its glamour. The red carpet was a place for the stars to shine and be portrayed as royalty. Now it seems that tabloids have tainted that image. The Oscars and Globes ratings have fallen. Is it due to lack of interest or are the stars no longer on a pedestal as they once were? The human frailties that everyone has are now splashed across websites and magazines for fodder to snark over. Are people more interested in the train wreck aspect than the fan aspect? Has it changed the atmosphere in Hollywood from years gone past?
Answer: We don’t think anything has changed. Maybe the year, maybe the face..but, it’s always the same. Let’s face it. People reading the magazines and clicking on those celeb websites don’t want to read about something good. They want DIRT. Why do you think these magazines sell like hotcakes? Were not sure the ratings have fallen? It’s more like there is MORE competition. It used to be just the National Enquirer and The Star, now you have over 10 solid rag-mags published every week. But, it’s no different from day one in Hollywood. We have learned Hollywood loves to build you up, only so they can tear you down, and then build you back up again. That’s why it is so true that ONLY the STRONG survive this business. But, for us, it’s something we love to do. Pol’ takes great pleasure in making a woman feel her utmost sexy in one of his gowns. Patrik gets a personal high from taking a model and grooming and molding them, and then putting them in a magazine. We don’t think we could do anything else.
16. You mention a talent agency. You’re not like Donny Bonaduce? are you? Looking for the next child star? Does Shelby want to be in the biz?
Answer: Patrik has the model and talent agency, Network International Models & Talent. http:www.network-models.com. The agency is licensed and bonded in the state of California and has been open for over 16 years. It’s not an easy industry to be in, let alone for over 16 years. Network International Models & Talent is ALWAYS looking for its next star, but I think the media misrepresents a lot of what goes on in this industry. It all boils down to the parents. If the parents of a kid in the entertainment industry were bad parents before their child starting doing commercials, they are going to be bad parents afterwards. Plain and simple. Shelby is a model and an actress. She recently booked her first cover. You can see her on the cover of Zodi-Habit magazine. http://www.zodihabit.com She also just competed in New York City in the MAAI’s (Modeling Association of America International’s annual modeling convention, and won a Summer scholarship to The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. We are very proud of her. She sings, she dances, acts and models. It was a natural thing that Shelby would be in this business because she has been around it all her life. She was on the Anna Nicole E Special “Anna Goes To Camp” and she’s starring in “Designer Family” with us. However, we are STRICT parents. There are auditions we have NOT let her attend because she didn’t have her homework done. That’s the key to making sure your child grows up healthy and happy in this industry…KEEP THEM GROUNDED and well adjusted. We would have supported Shelby in any career choice she wanted. That’s what good parents do.
I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS——-
17. What was Anna’s relationship with DR E, where they good friends?
Answer: She loved Anna and Anna adored her. She, along with us helped take care of Dannielynn, and gave unconditional support and friendship to Anna. All these bloggers that want to blame Dr. Khris for Anna’s death don’t know the real story. If Khris Erosovich could trade places with Anna, she would, in a heartbeat. We love Khris and will always support her. She was Anna’s friend. Again, as we have stated many, many times a true friend will love and support you no matter what. That’s what Khris did.
18. Was the doctor there with Anna a lot of the time, did Anna ever go on dining alone with Howard?
Answer: We were all there with Anna & Howard. Khris, along with us made many frequent trips to the Bahamas. But, there were many times that none of us was there and it was just Anna & Howard. One of Anna’s favorite places to go with Howard was the “Poopdeck”. It’s in the central part of town, and quite well-known.
19. The gowns that were designed for Anna Nicole Smith are beautiful. Is there anything in place to protect them in the future so that they are not damaged? A exhibition of these beautiful dresses would be lovely. When everything settles down of course. I think that Anna is firmly in the history books and the dresses you designed are a part of her public life.
Answer: Someday they will be unveiled and showcased. Right now we are considering many options to make that possible. Anna is a part of history and will always be an ICON of our time. We may hold an auction for charity, or possibly open a museum. We want to make it possible for Anna’s fans to see all the beautiful gowns Pol’ created for her.
20. What did Anna and Howard say to each other in their vows??
Answer: The universal language of their love and commitment to each other was revealed in the look of their eyes staring into each others.
21. Could you elaborate about why Ford Shelley and crew couldn’t be stopped from taking things from Horizons?
Answer: That’s one of the hardest things Pol’ ever had to do: stand there and watch them pillage Anna’s home. At the time, there was NO establishment of residence in place. Technically, there was no LEGAL way to stop Ford Shelley and crew from doing what they did. While that was going on, an attorney for Howard, Wayne Munroe, was in court to get a court order to get the house back, which would have prevented Ford and crew from doing what they did. Pol’ was outside with the Police waiting, so even if he wanted to do something, he couldn’t. It was the most helpless feeling. And, to make it even worse afterwards and walk in to see what a disheveled mess was left behind. Once those court orders were in place, Pol’ had the locks changed to prevent them from coming back and then immediately went to the Bahamas Police Station to file the theft report.
22. & 23. What was the mood in the house the day the dna test revealed that Howard K. Stern was not Dannielynn biodad? What was the mood in the house when Larry Birkhead left with Dannielynn? How was Howard? (If you don’t want to answer those last two questions cause you don’t feel like it would be appropriate I would understand. I don’t know if it was appropriate from me to even ask them)
Answer: All of us were devastated. Dannielynn was the last real connection to Anna Nicole Smith. When Larry took Dannielynn out of the Bahamas, he had taken her from everything she had ever known. Her safety, security and her home. And, if Anna were alive today that NEVER would have happened.

Roland Carnaby was pulled over for speeding. He showed the police officer his CIA credentials and the police officer thought that maybe Carnaby was impersonating a CIA official, because of his vague answers to questions, the officer’s superior told him to arrest him for something and bring him in until they could figure it out. Arrest him for something, as in make it up if you have to or what? Mr. Carnaby sped off leading the Houston Police on a high-speed chase around the city of Houston. It ended when someone from Houston Police Department internal affairs, who Carnaby had called while driving at speeds up to 120 miles per hour, told him he should stop. Once stopped Mr. Carnaby didn’t get out of his Jeep right away and officers began to smash in the passenger side window. Mr. Carnaby opened his car door to get out, he made a move possibly to get his cell phone when a officer slam the car door on him while two of the officers fired, shooting him in the back.
Susan Carnaby has filed a wrongful death suit, violating Mr. Carnaby’s Civil Rights, against Houston Police Department for the shooting of her husband on April 29, 2008. One of worse parts of this tragedy was watching on the local news, the police officers standing around after handcuffing Mr. Carnaby, and doing nothing to provide first aid while he lay there on the street waiting for an ambulance, for 12 minutes, after being shot. He died on the way to the hospital from massive loss of blood and we believe the cause of death was ruled homicide, however after the first day; we have been unable to find any additional information on the M. E. findings.
The CIA in a statement saying they rarely comment on whether someone works for the CIA denies he was with the agency. Rose Turner mentioned she remembered when the Iran – Contra mess first begin to unravel for the CIA in the 80’s, and again the CIA broke their silence to say the pilot downed in South America did not work for them. However, later the CIA had to retract that, and thus begin the unraveling of the Iran – Contra scandal. The former special agent in charge of the Houston FBI field office, Don Clark says he knew him as only “Tony”, although they had met before at an event where Roland Carnaby made an introduction and presentation. The Officer that pulled him over stated he thought he [Carnaby] was a CIA Impersonator. Roland’s wife, Susan Carnaby, family and so many close friends believed he was in intelligence for the last 30 years and he has the awards and mementos to prove it. Mr. Carnaby knew many in the intelligence community after resurrecting the Association for Intelligence Officers after a period of inactivity. From the AFIO website, “we have renewed our mission under the leadership of AFIO-Houston President Roland V. Carnaby and his team”.
Many questions are being asked from weblogs and the internet surrounding Roland Carnaby also known as “Tony” as the mainstream media and family has been quite in revealing any more details concerning his life. Why did Don Clark know him as “Tony” and ex-CIA chief Tenet had autographed a book to “Tony” with “RC” put in quotations?
The Family held a quite private funeral for Mr. Carnaby on Monday, May 5, there was barely a whisper about it in the media, and I was unable to find a death notice in The Houston Chronicle.
I feel so horrible for Susan Carnaby, who not only lost her husband she had not seen since March, although he was in town and according to a close friend and was engaged to be married to someone else. Susan Carnaby is the one I’m grieving for tonight as I write this. Was her husband the real deal? Was he leading two separates lives and pretending to be in the CIA all these years? There are many conspiracy theories on the internet. The bottom line is Susan Carnaby lost her husband and she is the one who is most likely replaying every moment she spent with Roland in her mind as she tries to find the answers. I hope she can find peace and answers to all her questions.
Because of being so strongly pulled to Ms. Carnaby, her pain, her questions and her federal lawsuit, Rose Speaks has decided to follow this from the investigations into the shooting through the federal suit to the conclusion of all questions that can be answered.

Because of pending litigation in so many venues even involving us here at Rose Speaks, we had to do a lot of thinking about how to present this interview without Rose Speaks or Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson being pulled further into any litigation. After a lot of discussion, which is why this interview took so long to write, is that, we decided to just do it in the questions covered in our interview and with their answers adding no spin from us, with no interpretation from us.

“A wonderful friend 24 hours a day, she had a spark no matter what was going on or what she was going through, her inner beauty always shined through. Anna had the “IT FACTOR”. Energy would gravitate to her.” These are some of the flattering remarks that Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson shared with me as we were discussing their friend Anna Nicole Smith and reminisced about the last year. You could hear the pride and love for their dear friend in their voice as they spoke.
I started out with a set of questions, much like you’ve seen answered in the previous articles and also below. The first night we talked we bounced around from one subject to another. I never stayed on track with my list of questions. With all three of us talking and getting to know one another it was like I too had known them for a long time, as we both shared stories with each other about having daughters and such.
I think one of the hardest things we talked about was when they found out that Anna Nicole Smith had died in Florida. Their phones started ringing. A camera crew showed up at Shelby’s school. Someone even came into Pol’s boutique and tried to run off with a dress that was made for Anna Nicole and on display in the window, even while CBS was outside filming. It was pandemonium. Both Pol’ and Patrik dropped everything and headed to Florida to be with Howard K. Stern. Pol’ after flying from LA to Miami took off for the Bahamas when they were told that Horizons had been broken into. Patrik, Moe and Dr. Kris stayed in Miami to console and be with Howard.
Pol’ called Theresa Ladimore, “a very nice woman, who had become a friend of Anna’s” as Pol’ described her. Theresa picked him up at the airport. Pol’ felt lost and didn’t know where to start or what to do in order to secure the home of Anna, Howard and Dannielynn. Theresa told Pol’; “I’m so glad you are here because Anna loved you and trusted you.” Theresa was the celebrity liaison for the Bahamas and knew who, what and how to get the house back and was going to help him. She knew Patrik and Pol’ from the times they had stayed in the Bahamas in the past, so she was there to help Anna’s friend Pol’, as a friend to Anna also.
Pol’ told me how horrific it was to drive up to Horizons, finding it locked up and how helpless he felt as he watched for 4 hours outside the back gate while Ford and Gina Shelley, Gaither and Melanie Thompson leaving not once but 2 times with a truck full of belongings from Horizons. Standing at the back gate was Pol’ asking them not to do this, Ford Shelley told Pol’ “He [Ford Shelley] would profit from things inside the house so he could make some money back”. After they were through rummaging the house, the Shelley’s and Thompson’s drove by a couple of times in their limousine.
It was 2 am when he was finally able to go inside after the massacre. It was as if the home had been violated, Pol’ could not believe what he was seeing. Horizon’s had been totally ransacked. In Dannielynn’s room everything was in shambles. Pol’ knew the home from staying there after Daniel Smith passed. It was not the same, this was a disaster. On one trip from LA to the Bahamas they had brought from the Studio City home at the request of Anna Nicole Smith, some pictures from her nightstand and a whole suitcase of sunglasses. He knew exactly where she put all the sunglasses… in the top drawer of a dresser. Pol’ Atteu opened the top drawer, “They were all gone, not one pair left.” There were clothes and fur coats taken from the closet, pictures, paintings so much missing and all he could do at the time was collapse at the foot of the bed, their [Anna Nicole, Howard K. Stern and precious Dannielynn] belongings were stolen… gone! It was a slaughter, ransacked, an assault on their personal things, it was mass destruction through out the home. It was Pol’ that had to pull himself together after seeing all the devastation and file a police report with the authorities.
I asked Pol’ about the infamous refrigerator picture that was in the media and shown on nightly infotainment shows, he says, “That refrigerator picture was so set up. We all used that little refrigerator including Shelby for soft drinks and such. Anna kept Slim Fast in there to mix with cream of wheat. Other than that it was a total set up.”
After Daniel Smith had died, of course Patrik and Pol’ were at Horizons with Anna Nicole. They told me about lying in bed and watching all the “friends” coming on TV to talk about her, Howard and Daniel. She was very hurt by this and they said it was very inappropriate at the time with what Anna was going through. She [Anna] heard Jackie Hatten calling her Ahana, and yelled at the TV, “My name is not fucking Ahana, its Anna”. When I asked them about Jackie Hatten coming to Horizon’s and Anna turning her away, they said that was true. “Tell her to go away”, Anna said. Jackie Hatten wasn’t the only person that was told to go away. Anna called the shots. Matt Lauer, of NBC’s Today Show came to Horizons and got the same treatment as others did. Mr. Lauer left a very nice inspirational book at the front door and Anna Nicole Smith loved it. Pol’ reminisced that he wondered if any one had told Matt Lauer the gift of that book had meant so much to Anna Nicole.
Anna Nicole was not “wealthy” during this time, there were no off shore bank accounts, etc. She had not worked in quite awhile. Anna never thought about tomorrow. Patrik and Pol’ were both shocked by the so called friends that called offering to come to the Bahamas, to comfort her and help out if she would fly them to the Bahamas and rent them a place to stay while there. True friends, dropped everything and never thought about the expense or the inconvenience. True friends bought groceries, ran errands or did what ever was needed as Patrik and Pol’ did.
Anna Nicole really never talked badly about someone behind their back. If you were condescending, turned on her or were just out to use her… well that was it. Patrik and Pol’ feel that they remained close friends because they didn’t want anything from her or need anything. Anna’s innocence made her very trusting but if someone came into her life and tried to take advantage of her they would only last a little while once she knew their true intentions. Like Patrik and Pol said, “Anna called the shots.”
Another time when Patrik was watching the news with Anna Nicole was when Debra Opri first came on bashing Anna. Anna told Patrik, “Damit, I should have hired that fucking bitch first!” Patrik found Debra Opri to be sincere at the funeral of Anna and even handed him a Kleenex [1].
I asked them how they felt when Virgie was shoveling dirt on top of the casket. They said the way they saw it, she had hate in her eyes and despise for her daughter. She was mumbling while doing it and then she stomped over the dirt. They felt it was wrong that even in death she could not get any peace. Patrik and Pol’ told me Anna referred to her mother as her birth mother, and she also called Virgie…a Monster.

Patrik and Pol’ have a lot more to say about Virgie Arthur, but you will have to buy the book get the full scope of how she felt about what Anna called her “birth mother”.
They never set out to write a book. It just happened, it was just part of the healing process of losing someone they admired, loved and can never be replaced. They wanted to share with her fans a side of her that no one knows with beautiful life stories. They will never have a dear friend like Anna Nicole Smith again; she was positively one of a kind.
With that said, here are the final questions with Pol’ and Patrik’s interview.
A last observation from you as to your friend Anna Nicole Smith the person:
Question: If you had to name one quality you most loved about Anna what was it? One quality that most troubled you about Anna and what was it?
Answer: Her innocence. Anna Nicole had this childlike quality about her that made you instantly fall in love with her. The quality that most troubled us about Anna was her insecurity. She always had to have people around her to make her feel better. Unfortunately this allowed the “hangers-on” to remain.
Daniel Smith his life and death and the aftermath of his death on Anna Nicole Smith
Question: Was Anna a hip mother and did Daniel do some minor experimenting with drugs, prescription or otherwise and alcohol at home?
Answer: Anna was a hip mother. But, I do not think she would ever approve of Daniel doing drugs, and I never saw her allow him to do them. She [Anna] was very strict with Daniel because she wanted to make sure he was a good kid, and kept a good head on his shoulders. Anna told me that Daniel was having severe back pain and that is why he was taking medication. She also told us he was depressed after breaking up with a girlfriend, and so he started taking anti-depressants. I think he just didn’t pay attention (as many kids don’t) and just kept taking the medication, not knowing how much, and that it could be potentially fatal.
Question: Do you have any other thoughts about Daniel? Was Daniel very camera shy unlike his mother?
Answer: Our thoughts of Daniel were always how shy and sweet he was. He loved video games. He and Shelby would play video games for hours at a time. He was very camera shy. Many times I would try and take a picture of him and he would put his hand in front of his face. He loved and adored his mother and always listened to her. She was strict about homework, and we saw him studying a lot, too. I think that Daniel’s shyness was extreme. I am sure it wasn’t easy to live in the shadow of one the most famous women in the world. He got embarrassed really easily, but he was very respectful of Anna and listened to what she said at all times. He did keep to himself a lot though, and really hated the spotlight. He was very smart. Anna said he was in college studying to be an engineer or a rocket scientist. We didn’t know if she was kidding about the rocket scientist or not, but he was smart enough he could be anything he wanted to be. I know he really enjoyed being a producer on “Illegal Aliens” and told me he wanted to produce other films.
Question: How did both of you feel when you learned the outcome of the Inquest of Daniel Smith?
Answer: We never understood why there was an inquest to begin with. We really felt like it was an accident. To this day, we still can’t figure out what went wrong. We never saw Daniel Smith on drugs. He was always a good, clean-cut kid. It was so shocking to us that he passed away. Anna Nicole never understood why either. When the first autopsy came out, she refused to believe it was a drug overdose, because it was so out of character for him, she wanted a second opinion.
Question: You say Howard and Daniel had a good relationship, what kind of things did they do together? Had you ever heard that Howard’s nickname for Daniel Was “Cracker”? Was that’s why Anna named her yacht that?
Answer: Howard was more like a big brother to him rather than a father figure. They would go to the movie theater together. Rent movies or watch movies at home, play videogames and go out eat and hang out with each other often. We had heard Howard call Daniel “Cracker” & Anna would sometimes call him “Cracker” as well. I’m sure that is why Anna named her yacht “The Cracker”, after Daniel. She never said that was why, we just assumed it.
Virgie Arthur the aftermath of Daniel’s death and what Anna Nicole Smith shared about her “birth-mother”.
Question: Did Howard K. Stern get a bad rap from Virgie and her lawyers about Daniel from the beginning? How do you think Anna felt about what Virgie said on TV after Daniel’s death?
Answer: I think that Virgie Arthur spoke out of turn, and should not have come on camera with such strong words, because no one really knew what happened to Daniel Smith. I was in Anna’s room lying in bed with her when Virgie Arthur came on CNN and was describing how Anna was on drugs and was incoherent when she left a voicemail on her machine about Daniel passing away. This devastated Anna. She cried and cried and then she got angry. She said to me how hurt she was that after she reached out to her mom to tell her about Daniel, that she went on TV and opened her mouth to the world. Anna Nicole Smith never got over that up until the day she died. She felt betrayed by her mom. On that night she told me a few horrible things about her childhood with her mom that I have never revealed to anyone.
Question: Do you think Anna Nicole Smith was stoned or on drugs during her famous ET interview now called “Mommy Dearest”?
Answer: I think Anna Nicole was on prescription medication. She was on several drugs to help her cope after Daniel died. However, no matter what prescription drugs she was on, I believed those were her true feelings about her mother, because of what she had personally told me about Virgie Arthur in the past. Anna would refer to Virgie as her birth-mother.
Larry Birkhead, Dannielynn and Larry Birkhead as a person and father:
We do know that Anna did not want Larry Birkhead to be in Dannielynn’s life, however because of pending litigation it would not be appropriate for us to comment anymore on Larry Birkhead or the rumors surrounding his sexual orientation.
Howard K. Stern, his relationship with Anna Nicole Smith and you now?
Howard K. Stern loved Anna Nicole and she loved Howard. We have not seen Dannielynn since we left the Bahamas and it hurts a lot, because Anna called us her “Uncles” and we were very involved in the first 5 months of her life. No matter what happens, Pol’ and I will always be her Uncles and will always love her. Again because of pending litigation it would not be appropriate for us to elaborate on Howard K. Stern other than we are deeply hurt he has said some of the things he has since Anna Nicole Smith’s death.
Rita Cosby her book, and Wilma Vicedomine and what did she offer the two of you:
Question: Did Rita Cosby interview you for her book? Did she try to? Do you think Rita Cosby vetted her sources as good as an investigative journalist should?
Answer: No. Rita Cosby did not interview us. We have her book and we read the first chapter, in fact we read it in the car and after the first chapter we realized we could write ten chapters to fill in the blanks on her first chapter. So we put the book down and decided not to read the book because if we did decide to write a book of our own we did not want to be influenced by something she wrote. Actually when in the car we tossed it in the back seat and never picked it up again. As far as Rita’s sources we can’t comment since we have still not read the book. All we know about the book is what we have heard in media reports.
Question: Tell us the rest of what you said to Wilma Vicedomine.
Answer: I told her if Anna were alive she NEVER would have exploited her children. She always kept her relationship with her children very private. I told her we never met Jackie or Nazarian, and I knew many things that went on in the Bahamas house, but I would have to speak to my Husband, Pol’ & get back in touch with her about what if anything we would discuss. I made it clear to her that Pol’ and I had our loyalties to Anna….and NO ONE ELSE, just Anna. Pol’ and I discussed things and I called her back but we never spoke again. Wilma Vicedomine called back several times but left no additional messages for us. One thing that Pol’ and I talked about was the fact that she since was working for Virgie Arthur and we knew Anna’s opinion and feelings of her birth-mother, so we didn¹t think we should contact her back.
Question: What did Wilma Vicedomine offer you and how do you react to what some people are saying that she never contacted you?
Answer: She [Wilma Vice] told me she could help me get our book published and at the time [end of Oct. or first of Nov. 2007, after Cosby's book was published], we had not even made the decision to do a book, so we didn’t know why she would offer to help us publish one. She basically wanted us to lie for Virgie and we are NOT going to lie for ANYONE! We have been notified informally we are going to be subpoenaed by Rita Cosby, so all we can say is phone records do not lie.
Pending Lawsuits:
Question: Have they received any letters of threats of lawsuits from Howard K. Stern, Larry Birkhead or Virgie Arthur?
Answer: We’ve received telephone threats from both Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead. They seemed upset that we were going to put out a book. Larry [Birkhead] told our publicist that Anna hated us and that all of Pol’s dresses fell apart, and that we had stolen photos, etc. I found that laughable. Especially, since Pol’ and I [Patrik] have all the “details” Anna confided in us about Larry.
Howard [K. Stern] called me [Patrik] personally and actually said what I was doing was wrong and that I was stealing from Dannielynn. I didn¹t want to stay on the phone with him because I really didn’t feel that we were appreciated for all that we have done in the past for the both of them. Pol’ had never charged Anna for a dress. EVER! And, it’s not just because she was a celebrity. It’s because they [Pol’ and Anna] had this rare and special friendship. Howard’s attorney, Lin Wood sent our lawyer a letter demanding that we refrain from using “Our Photos” accusing us of stealing them from the estate of Anna Nicole, and claiming that we were in breach of a confidentiality agreement. We never signed a confidentiality agreement because we were never Anna Nicole Smith’s employees, we were her friends and we were never asked to sign one. We were one of the few that were NOT on the Anna Nicole Smith gravy train. We were her friends. In response, our attorney answered back. The whole thing baffles us, because we were always so kind and generous to Anna and Howard. We are one of the “few characters” in the Anna Nicole Smith saga that never had an agenda. We got along with everybody and we were always there to offer our friendship, love and support to Anna and Howard. After Anna Nicole passed away, we were there for Howard in every aspect. I don’t think Howard has ever seen our book, and if he did he would be proud of the loving tribute we paid to Anna.
When Anna was alive Pol’ and I were always there for both Anna and Howard. After Daniel Smith died we dropped everything to be there for them. We left our businesses and traveled MANY Times back and forth to the Bahamas and stayed days and weeks at a time, just to help Anna through the crisis. We helped take care of Dannielynn the first five months of her life. We did all of this at our own expense. We never asked for anything. After Anna died, Pol’ and I were completely cut off and cut out of Dannielynn’s life. It was very difficult and traumatic for us to never see our “niece”, Dannielynn again. We were not even invited to her first birthday. We were never even thanked for being such wonderful friends. It’s OK. We KNOW Anna Nicole loved us, and we KNOW she is looking down on us from heaven smiling and happy that we have put out such a beautiful tribute to her. NO ONE else did. It was so appalling to us that NO ONE put out a tribute book to her. She was such a huge public figure of our time. She [Anna Nicole] was in the media everyday and she truly was an Icon. I am glad we did. I am glad that Pol’ and I were able to put such a beautiful funeral together for Anna. We saw what the one-year anniversary was. We were NOT even invited. That was wrong. The fact that Dr. Khris Erosovich has gotten such a bad reputation from so many people, and I can tell you from first hand knowledge…she is a wonderful person with a heart of gold and she loved and adored Anna. It’s not her fault Anna died. The people that were invited to the one year memorial of her death were not there for Anna like we were. They didn’t drop their lives after Daniel Smith died and head to the Bahamas as we did.

The second part of this interview with Patrik and Pol’ are a few more intimate memories about Anna Nicole Smith who they spent many special times with and loved dearly. As they say in the introduction of their book, “Moments with Anna could be as simple as having a peaceful dinner at her home, being called in the middle of the night because she was bored, jumping into a limousine with bodyguards and hitting the town all night, or just climbing into her bed and watching a movie.” Featured in “In Touch Weekly Magazine” Patrik said, “She was an incredible soul. I don’t think I’ll really have a friend like her again in my lifetime.”
Although we talked many times by phone, because of all our combined obligations and litigations, we also sent them questions to answer in their own words. In part three, I will also elaborate on the remaining questions after their “written” answers from our many conversations.
Here are the questions and answers of part two of our exclusive with Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson in their own words…
Question: Was Anna Nicole Smith ever insecure when she was larger?
Answer: Anna Nicole always had this childlike insecurity about her. But, when it came right down to it, she knew how to step out of that insecurity for any given moment she needed to perform. She [Anna Nicole Smith] had this incredible presence about her and an undeniable confidence whenever she was in the spotlight. However, when the cameras were off and the photographers were away, she could very easily delve into an insecure state of mind. She was always worried about what people thought of her. When she was large she hated the fact that people made fun of her because she was fat. Anna Nicole Smith didn’t like the fact that designers would not send her their clothes because of her weight. Pol’ dressed her with the same love, care and attention whether she was fat or thin, or in-between.
Question: In your book you say, “She hated the fact that when she was overweight people had a different opinion of her.” Did Anna Nicole Smith hold grudges with those designers that did not offer to do gowns for her when she was heavy? Did she feel a more kinship to other women battling that stereotype of today’s society of looks and thinness is everything?
Answer: Anna Nicole didn’t necessarily hold grudges, because she had a big heart. But, she never forgot. When it came down to it, she didn’t hold it against the designer, but she loved the fact that Pol’ was always there for when she was fat and thin. Whenever she needed a gown, even if it was last minute, she adored Pol’ and always knew she could count on him. That’s what friends do…count on each other. Anna Nicole always stuck up for the underdog and that definitely included overweight women, as well as men. She was very happy that her TrimSpa campaign had motivated so many women & men to take the initiative and get their bodies in shape. She was proud of that.
Question: Did she have one favorite movie or just several that she watched over and over again? Other than Marilyn did she have any other favorites actors/actresses? Did she love horror movies as Nathan Collins told us and if so which one was her favorite?
Answer: Anna loved ALL kinds of scary movies. She loved the blood gore and guts. She and Shelby would watch all the “Halloween” and the “Hellrasier” movies over and over again. She loved and ADORED John Travolta. She was so excited that she got to meet him for “Be Cool”. She had a framed picture of her & Daniel with John Travolta that she kept on her living room table, that we brought to the Bahamas and she kept it on her nightstand.
Question: You say in your book, Anna Nicole Smith had a leopard design living room, with photos and paintings of her everywhere, did she also have paintings and artwork she did hanging throughout the house? Was there a room on the lower level of her home near Daniel’s bedroom that just held her own artwork that she drew or painted? What was her favorite painting or picture of her she had in her home? Did she do a lot of clown drawings or paintings or clay she worked with we have heard during other interviews concerning Anna Nicole Smith?
Answer: There were pictures of Anna Nicole everywhere in her house. Some of her favorites were of her dressed as Marilyn Monroe, and of course any photo with her and Daniel together. Her two favorite pictures of her and Daniel was when she was reaching up for him (it was a black & white photo) and the photo from the G-Phoria awards show where she was kissing his cheek.
Daniel Smith’s bedroom was on the very bottom of the house (the lower level). Anna Nicole also had her Barbie room there. This was her special room filled with every kind of Barbie you could possibly imagine. When Shelby was much younger she and Anna would play Barbie’s in that room forever.
Anna was a wonderful artist. She had so many paintings of everything. She loved painting clowns, flowers… and especially self-portraits. Before she went to the Bahamas we had talked to her [Anna Nicole] about painting Pol’ and I and our daughter, Shelby. Sadly, that never came about.
One of Anna¹s favorite paintings she did (hanging in the Bahamas house) was a self-portrait of her with her hand on her belly & “Hannah” on a cloud. She painted it while she was pregnant. At the time, she was going to name Dannielynn Hannah.
Question: In your book you say; “She [Anna Nicole] possessed that special, unique something that set her apart while also being very comfortable in her own skin. I think that was part of her appeal and something that most people simply can’t claim.” So Anna liked Anna? Anna was secure with Anna for the most part? Care to elaborate on this?
Answer: It was two-fold Anna Nicole Smith loved Anna Nicole Smith at times, and then there were the times Anna was insecure and needed people around her to tell her what she wanted or needed to hear to make her feel better about herself. Even if they didn’t mean what they were saying…as many of the “hangers-on” did that just to appease her. She always got the truth from us, whether it was the painful truth or not…it was still the truth. She respected us for that. Anna was more secure in the persona “Anna Nicole – Celebrity” than Anna [the woman]. I think it was quite easy for to get lost in the celebrity status and it was a way for her to escape her pain from her childhood. “Anna Nicole – Celebrity” didn’t have to face those issues.
Question: Did she [Anna Nicole] love her fans? What did she ever share with y’all about her love for her fans? Did you ever see her stay to sign autographs or have pictures taken with fans after she was too tired to go on?
Answer: Of course! Anna Nicole Smith adored all her fans. She went above and beyond to please them whenever she could. Anna was the type of person that would stay until she saw everyone. If there were 50 people clamoring to get her autograph, she would not leave the room until she attended to all 50 of them. Many times she was exhausted but kept on going just to make her fans happy.
Question: Is it true that once Anna stopped trusting someone, then that person became history in her life? Can you name anyone you saw that happen to?
Answer: Anna Nicole Smith had many people that came and went in her life. Anna had hangers-on around her that were the type of people that were in her life just because she was Anna Nicole Smith. She had a difficult time trusting anyone because many so many people were in it for themselves. Pol’ and I were rare because we didn’t need Anna to make a name for ourselves. We are both successful in our prospective fields. Pol’ has many celebrity clients and I have had my modeling and talent agency for 16 years. We are both well established in our industry.
Question: Have you met Rita Cosby, and did she interview you for her book?
Answer: We had never met Rita Cosby until much later after Anna Nicole Smith was buried. We did see Rita Cosby at the funeral & she did show up to the reception.
Question: About Wilma Vicedomine, how often did she continue to call you? Did she leave messages or was it just picked up by caller ID? When was the last time Wilma called? Do you have any emails from Wilma?
Answer: I called Wilma Vicedomine back and we spoke for a few minutes. She asked me for my email address and I gave it to her, but she never sent me an email. Wilma Vicedomine asked if I could answer the questions she had for me. She asked me if I knew about what was going on in the “Bahamas house”, she asked me if I knew Jackie Hatten or if I had spoken to Nazarian? She asked me my opinion of Larry Birkhead as a father.

Because of pending litigation in so many venues even involving us here at Rose Speaks, we had to do a lot of thinking about how to present this interview without Rose Speaks or Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson being pulled further into any litigation. After a lot of discussion, which is why this interview took so long to write, we decided to just do it in the format of questions and their verbatim answers, with no interpretation from us.

Rose Speaks’ Lyndal Harrington brings you Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson in their own words on everything Anna Nicole Smith.
I have spoken with Pol’ and Patrik over the last couple of weeks several times and I must say, I can see why Anna liked them so much. They are charismatic, charming and fun to talk with. They are a very happy, well balanced couple, trying to juggle their individual business’, parenthood and of course “lawsuits”.
We talked the first night with all of us on the phone at one time. Three big talkers, I was asking the questions and both of them were telling me their story. They were so polite and considerate to one another …. Pol’ you can answer that… no Patrik you go ahead, etc., it was extremely refreshing to get a glimpse into their relationship. There’s no doubt in my mind that their daughter Shelby is well loved, talented and like most parents they praised her often in our conversations.
Here’s the questions and their answers in their own words.
Question: What happened in court on April 9th, in the California Court in Los Angeles? What does that mean for your book now?
Answer: On April 9 the judge granted us our preliminary injunction against Jody ”Babydol” Gibson. The injunction CLEARLY states that she is not allowed to interfere with marketing and/or selling of our book: Anna Nicole Smith Portrait of An Icon and/or Anna Nicole Smith Portrait of An Icon Signature Edition. It essentially confirms what we have been fighting for since the day the book was supposed to come out, February 8, 2008, that we can now release our book to the public. We had our book on Amazon for approximately ONE day, and Ms. Gibson wrote a false letter to Amazon accusing us of copyright infringement and Amazon’s legal department immediately took our book off their website and ceased all sales. Since Amazon is affiliated with Borders Books, it affected our book being sold on Borders Books website and in the Borders Bookstores, which is a huge marketplace. Ms. Gibson basically SHUT DOWN book sales for our book in a split second. We had to file a lawsuit and request the court give us an injunction against her in order to get our book back on Amazon and Borders.
What this means for our book now is that Ms. Gibson is enjoined by the court
from interfering with the sale or the promotion of our book. Our book was just added back on Amazon on April 14, and interestingly enough Ms. Gibson wrote a fake review about the content of our book. I feel as if she will stop at nothing to try and discredit us and trash our book. However, everyone that has ever seen our book has told us how beautiful it is. The good thing is that we can FINALLY release our book everywhere. Since it first came out, our book was only available on our website:
http://www.portraitofanicon.com but, now it will be sold on Amazon, Borders
Books and Barnes and Noble. We are going to now have an official launch party of the book in May. We have a few author signings coming up in California and Arizona, and will be scheduling a nationwide book tour.
I do want to say that our book is NOT a tell-all. It is not meant to hurt anyone. It was a way to pay homage to our friend. We wanted to memorialize her and our friendship and share some private and intimate stories and open up our personal photo album and share with the world and her fans the Anna Nicole we knew and loved.
Question: You stated she was large when you first met her and when Pol’ Atteu first began his designs for her. Was this during her reality show, before it or after it? If you met her during her reality show did either of you appear in any episodes and if so which ones?
Answer: Pol’ [Atteu] first met Anna when she was taping the first season of her reality show “The Anna Nicole Show”. He was in several episodes in season one and season two. He [Pol’] dressed her for “Wasabi Tuna” and was a guest-star in the one hour special “Anna Goes to Camp”. I [Patrik] didn¹t meet Anna until the end of her second season of her reality show. I appeared in the “Anna Goes To Camp” one hour special.
Question: How many total outfits did Pol’ Atteu design for Anna during her life? What were his favorite two or three and for what years and events? What was Anna Nicole Smith’s favorite dress?
Answer: Pol’ [Attteu] created many outfits. He created all her most famous and beautiful ones. Anna wore many of his dresses to red-carpet premieres and several dresses that were worn to private events and didn’t get much media attention.
Here are some of the special ones:
The spectacular gold G-Phoria dress (where she her boob popped out) This was
also the most photographed dress as it was the last red carpet event with Daniel. It’s also one of Pol’s favorite dresses he ever made her & we put it on the cover of our book. The red Valentine’s Day dress (with the heart-shaped bodice) made for the “Be Cool” premiere with John Travolta. The blue Italian lycra that she wore to VH1’s Best in 2004. She won best body makeover at the event. He made her pink Cinderella Gown that she wore at the Military Ball in December of 2005. Another famous gown was the white couture gown that is on the cover of her “Anna Nicole Show” DVD of her series. He made the red dress (she was photographed in at the Pride Parade in Los Angeles). The black French lace dress that she wore to Daniel¹s funeral and he also made her baby Dannielynn a black dress as well. He took fabric and material from a few dresses and created her wedding dress that she wore when she “married” Howard K. Stern on the yacht at Gilligan’s Island. He made that dress in just a few hours with a borrowed sewing machine in the middle of the night.
Pol’s favorite dress he made was the final dress that she was buried in. He put so much love and care into its creation and all his emotion went into the design. He made a beautiful Swarovski Crystal encrusted heart over the bodice to symbolize her broken heart over losing Daniel. Pol’ said he felt as if Anna was guiding him into the design and style. A year earlier Anna had picked out the fabric for another dress, but he never got to make it for her because she got pregnant. So, he used this special fabric to create her final gown. He made sure that it would have been just as Anna wanted. It was her favorite color, pink and it was elegant. He wanted her dressed as the princess she always wanted to be. Not ONLY did he make her gown, he made a beautiful tiara covered in Swarovski Crystals, a heart shaped pillow for her head to lie on and a unique silk fringed casket cover to drape over her coffin.
It was exactly what Anna Nicole Smith would have wanted.
Question: You say in the book, “She had a great eye for what she thought looked good and most of the time she was right on because she was very visual and very detail-oriented. Always making every decision from head to toe-ring about precisely what she was going to wear.” Can you elaborate on that for us?
Answer: Anna Nicole Smith really had a good sense of what she wanted Pol’ to make her. She would describe what she wanted and Pol’ would basically make or create her “dream”. They would discuss style, fit and fabrics. Anna and Pol’ were pretty in sync when it came to the finished product. But, the bottom line is Pol’ always made her look her most elegant and classy, but still sexy. All of Pol’s clients refer to him as “Mr. Beverly Hills”, and the reason why is because he knows exactly what fabrics and textures and style to use to compliment a woman’s body. Anna Nicole was no different. He [Pol'] dressed her when she fat and thin and always knew exactly how to make her look her best. He knew Anna Nicole’s body better than anyone else!
Question: Did she ever have you do a dress only to say “oh no” at the end or did you ever tell her something would NOT work and if so did she listen to you? If yes, to either of those two questions which outfits or for what occasions?
Answer: One of the most famous dresses Pol’ created for her was the gold dress he made for her G-Phoria awards show. Ten minutes before she was going to walk the red carpet…she turned to Pol’ and said “Pol’’’, I need MORE boobs! I need more cleavage! You can’t see my tits!” So, Pol’ made her take off the dress and re-designed the bodice giving way more cleavage. …The dress was a huge smash on the red carpet & got Anna on all the best dressed lists. The bottom line is Pol’ was one of the FEW people Anna Nicole Smith would ALWAYS listen to when it came to clothes. She trusted that he would always make her look her best.
Question: What were Anna Nicole Smith’s favorite rings and necklaces?
Answer: Anna Nicole Smith loved her diamonds from J. Howard Marshall especially a spectacular diamond necklace. She had the most beautiful diamond ring (HUGE ROCK) from Harry Winston. One of the pictures in our book is when all three of us (me, Pol’ & Anna) all put our ring fingers together and took a picture of our Harry Winston’s enjoined in unity. She [Anna Nicole] also loved the silver cross she wore around her neck. She and Daniel Smith had the same silver cross necklace. She never took it off.
Question: How long did it take Anna Nicole to get ready for one of her media events?
Answer: It was always “Anna Time”. It would take her sometimes 3-4 hours to get ready for a red-carpet event. The funny thing is we would wait and wait for her to be ready, and as soon as she was…we were out the door! She would have her hair in rollers for a long time, then get her hair done…make-up done & finally get dressed for the event. It was NEVER a fast process. However, the minute she was ready to go…we were all out the door.
Question: About Wilma Vicedomine whom you brought up, how did she find you to get in touch with you? How many times did either of you talk to her, what did she offer you?
Answer: I had no idea who Wilma Vicedomine was. The first time she called me I didn’t answer my cell phone. I saw an incoming “Texas number” on my caller ID, but no name. I very rarely answer any unknown call. She [Wilma Vice] left a message that she was a private investigator working for Virgie Arthur and asked me to call her back. I believe this was sometime in the end of October or beginning of November of last year.
