An Evening of Entertainment with John J. Nazarian PI and Could have been a Chef!

…I drove into the parking lot this evening to have dinner with the star of an upcoming new series on CBS and my son. Now this parking lot is attached to this so-called “Studio City’s Favorite,” and the last time I was here you could park for free…well these kings of milking you of every dime found a new way to dig even deeper into your wallet, now you get to pay for parking. Then Hose A and Hose B put up a fight about letting me park myself. Well, I am not cheap but no one parks my Bentley, no one. Most smart establishments don’t want the liability of parking one of these autos (Huh, this place is not smart). The yellow carpet service does not stop in the parking lot, it continues inside…you know the rule, dirty restrooms = often dirty restaurant and shitty attitude in the parking lot or at the door will carry on inside also, NEVER FAILS! Well I go in and ask to speak to the manager and tell him of my encounter with these two idiots in their parking lot and he tells me, “they don’t work for us anyways.” Note: If you park in this lot and something happens get ready to be told that it is not their problem. And as for the entertainment in this place it is as good as the food…STINKS. …The only thing that this place is known for it is where Robert Blake took his soon to be DEAD WIFE for dinner before someone shot her in the head! Hmm, could it have been after having a plate of this dive’s greasy food that she shot herself in the head for being so stupid for even eating here? Well, after getting the yellow carpet treatment we are not so stupid, we leave.
Sooooo, we go over to Caioti Pizza Cafe, 4346 Tujunga Ave, Studio City, Ca. It is across from the carnival lit signage dump called Vitello’s. We were greeted promptly and you got the feeling that they really wanted you to come in and eat. …
…Friends, do yourself a favor and skip Vitello’s and go to a place where fresh and friendly is the rule of thumb. Caioti has been around for 14 years…I am telling you to visit once and you will see why.
Vitello’s? Visit once and try and figure out how they have lasted and why are you sitting in this dump on Toojoonga.

Mr. Nazarian, you always add the right “touch” as only a chef could to your rating of restaurants and “The Monster” we love when you share you takes on things with us…
Oh you betcha, in this economy they allow customers to leave and eat some place else for $ 2.50! This is the mentality one must deal with in Los Angles. Anyone who just gives their car to any ‘Valet Parker’ is a fool. Many of these people either dont own a car and or dont even have a license to drive! And dont even get me started with the issue of liability! Oh sure if one of these idiots wreck your car and you can catch them get ready for the ‘denial ride’. I know too well from what I speak. when they piss you off before you even enter the place that will set the tone for the rest of the place.

did you leave a tip?
I always love how you tell it like it is Naz. I guess the first clue about what kind of place it is was the parking fiasco, why would they even care if you park your own auto? Anybody with any brains wouldn’t want to touch such an expensive car just in case something happened, but as the restaurant says it isn’t their problem. I think that says alot about what kind of place it is. I don’t blame you for leaving, if that is all the manager had to say about it I guess he isn’t too worried about his customers!!
My Hubby won’t let anyone park his car either, and it sure in the hell isn’t a Bently………….but it is his ” baby” LOL
My son’s friend worked for one of the top hotels in town as a valet and now that he is older, he tells us all about how those cars are driven by some of the valet people………..scary!!!!!!
Tianna it makes no difference if it is an old car or a new one, to just give the car keys to these people is a huge liability and if something bad happens they will deny and or walk away from the problem…..that is how it is done in their own county. In California it is a terrible problem, ‘Valet’ rip off the money you may leave in the car, they steal your CDs…..they are not a service, they are a PROBLEM. And this ‘dump’ could careless about ‘me’ the customer being happy, no they would rather me walk due to a 2.50 fee to pay and instead of going into the restaurant and spending $65-85 for dinner……I would rather eat worms than to ever go back to that place……jerks! Heath no tip just my opinion going through the net!
Rose, I do make a great sauce! Look at me, most of what you see is my ability to cook and eat!

Hi John,
Being an aussie we don’t tip, it is not expected and if we do it is because of good service.
It is right about a happy customer just tells a few people and unhappy one tells everyone
My brother was visiting from the US last month and was a little unnerved, he said you are expected to add 10 or 20% to bill in the US, why not pay people properly in the first place I think.
Valet parking here noway, it is dog eat dog in the parking lot. lol
A chef, how about some recipes?
Good one John I don’t let anyone handle my car but family and that is only close family ,daughters not grandchildren they are too young and don’t worry about the next day.heath I’m with you pay them and they should not have to worry about tips. Here you feel like you have to even with bad service, though with bad service you can leave a small tip to show disapproval
