Seldom do I ever get a chance to just unwind and relax and think nothing except just the food I am eating. Well I got together with a ‘re-new’ old friend, does that make any sense? Let me explain, I met Daniel DiCriscio years ago, a very long time ago. He was employed at the Jose Eber Salon and had just launched his music career. Funny as it seems I remember that CD and it was not bad. I was developing my new business and offices and Daniel was busy with his hair and as I said his music. This guy has some real talent other than being ‘Daniel’. Go ahead and Google him, after you Google me.

Recently his mom died and we communicated both by phone and email and I could hear the pain in his voice as well as in his writings. His emotions were ones that had escaped me during similar circumstances that I had and I felt bad that he was at a loss in his mother’s death. We spoke further and again, it was good for me in away that is hard for me to explain.

Well through the last couple of years Daniel has assisted me in a few projects and he, like myself are tough to miss. He has a presence! The great blond hair and of course his style of dress, too bad those in power during the Anna Nicole Show missed him and found that ‘mess’ who played too many episodes. Booby Bobby or Bobby Boob, whatever. The two of us make an interesting ‘set’, black and white, sour and sweet, Beauty and , well enough, you get my point.

I suggested we get together for a bite to eat and the amazing thing here is that we are both very entertaining when it comes to the rich and famous. It was to the point I was wondering how have we missed what could be one of the best duos since Dean and Jerry, Amos and Andy, Jan and Dean, and maybe even Mutt and Jeff. My point here is that we could both have a new career, we had each other laughing and on serious points we were both on target. Especially, our thoughts on Anna Nicole Smith as well as others both in and out of Hollywood. My perspective is sarcastic and stinging; Daniel has what I call a ‘snap’, like get over it. Call me a little odd, but I was very entertained and realized it was just him and me.

I am posting this picture to make my point, when it comes to ‘Hollywood Insiders’ no one can come close to either one of us. And we both understand how far to the line we can come after all of these years bumping around Hollywood. Speaking for myself, there are things that I would never speak of and a book, is never going to happen. For Daniel the stories about Elizabeth Taylor alone could fill two chapters in his book. My time with Miss Taylor could fill maybe ten pages….thanks Adam! I recall my first encounter with Peerez Hilton and thought, “ Beast “, and having to do a short pilot with him, Lisa Stanley of KRTH ( she is the best ) and Ryan Seacrest’s assistant, what’s her name……the painful part was Peerez Hilton…and those feet!

All I am saying is watch, there could very well be some very interesting ‘tea’ coming along and presented in away that only two people in this town could present, John & Daniel or Daniel & John……that will be a hump to stroll over…..in time.

Folks none of this is going to be pleasant, maybe two or three times I have had clients who realized what time it was and did the right thing. What you ask is the right thing? You have ten dollars and you take five dollars and the other side gets five dollars. Otherwise the ten dollars goes like this, your lawyer will take $4.00 and the other lawyer will take $4.00 and some lucky private investigator will get $1.50. I have made this as simple as I can and yes I have seen this done with millions of dollars and yes everyone was thrilled, that is the lawyers and me!

…. So I hope that my perspective will help women and men who have decided to take the plunge and DIVORCE each other. After seeing Laurel and Hardy on Monday I got away from the craziness that comes with famous dead people and headed for higher ground. Well let me tell you, I stopped by the Honorable Amy Pellman, Judge, department 65. Action for me is judges being just that — judges — and liars, excuse me, I mean people who sit before the judge and tell their sad stories, true or not? Who can ever tell, after awhile it is like being a parent or an old copper who has heard so much crap on a daily basis that even before the offender opens their pie hole you know they are liars.

…I have to tell you that for anyone to have to sit and listen to divorce people wanting to get through the process for 5 minutes can make you want to grind your teeth. These judges who handle family law, aka DIVORCE, are not paid enough nor am I for the constant attack on our common sense. ….She had a Big Fat Liar in her sights and she was not going to be playing anymore games with him or his lawyer. Talk about interesting, here was the “doctor” who was just “broke” and had already paid over $500,000 in legal fees, investigative fees, accounting fees and only God knows what else…But not one cent for child support. This guy had performed the now famous “Persian two step.” For those of you who do not know what this is well let me explain, there are other versions of the two step, but this one is one of the best. …

…Judge Pellman busts one over this guy’s head by telling him that “not to pay child support for five years” was unconscionable and she has had enough. She asks Da Doc’s lawyer, “how many days in a week?”… It is simple folks, you want to totally screw over the X-wifee all you do is get rid of all your assets….

Well you know what they say, just plan a nice late morning swim and the phone will ring! It did I got my first call from John Connolly, and then Robert Iafolla called and told me that the jury was ready and get to the courthouse by noon — it was already after 11:30 AM. I was out of the pool and at the courthouse by 12:01PM, not bad!

The place was jumping, the guards were milling around and the players were all there. Lally and Saunders were very quiet, almost like a couple of big dogs who had just treed the neighbor’s cat and were getting ready to take a snooze under the tree and wait…and wait they did! All the games had been played and the Jury had done their job, and at 12:15 PM Judge Fischer began to read Pellicano’s charges, all 77 of them…on 76 of them he was found guilty! And worst of all was the RICO act…talk about some bad fish! Pellicano just sat there, at one time tried to smile but remained very stoic, almost like he could not move. He looked around the courtroom and was almost comatose. It took almost 1/2 an hour for the judge to read his charges and it was very slow and almost “wah wah.” It was all melding together for me. His wife Kat sat and listened and was also very stoic and looked straight ahead. Could it be 6-7 years and maybe 20 more for RICO? The Pelican is so done, but he still has not said a word and appeared to find all of this entertaining. What does he feel about Omerta, I guess it worked for him!

Note: I was told that he blew through almost all of this money and never saved any money for his one child, who is not well. What about the oath to provide for your family?

Next in line was my “buddy” the Sarge, Mark Arneson. It was the worst scenario for a cop, Guilty of RICO and 44 other charges, that could be…20 plus years in prison! It will have to be in “protective custody” or he won’t have a prayer. Yup, it will be double the hell in prison, a dirty cop and all the rest won’t be good for him! His wife looked as if the jury had just smacked her…it was sad, but what did she think? The jury saw and heard what we had and it was “Guilty” all the way…Da Sarge did it all and got caught. “Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time!” The other problem for the Sarge is that this judge is going to make an example of this dirty copper who saw “nothing wrong” with what he did, hell everyone does it…NOT!

Ray Turner got the smack down too, RICO and GUILTY of 14 of the 18 charges against him…he too seemed pretty much resigned to the fact that this was not going to be a good day, Happy Ray was looking a little sad!

One of the more amusing verdicts was for Lil’ Abner Nicherie. LMAO, after watching him for weeks taking his nice long naps and coming in late he was wide awake today, yes he was, as the judge said….GUILTY, you nitwit! No, she did not say “nitwit,” that was me! He put his face in his hands and just looked like he got smacked with a dead Pelican! This grifter already is a convicted felon, and now this? He is so F%@#ed. This judge is going to lay chubby away…you watch when she sticks him with the full sentencing guidelines…but for that we have to wait until September.

Here is my prediction: based on what we witnessed today, Terry N. Christensen (the only lawyer to get caught in the Pelican net) better make a deal! He does not want to go forward with a trial based on the evidence against him. He is right there talking with the Pelican and he is in as deep as he can get! He is rich and will be rich when he gets out of prison, people are also saying that Kerkorian will take care of him…..Hmmm!

Lots of reporters waiting for the verdicts and the jurors outside. I was asked what it was like in the courtroom, all I could think of was what a turkey farm must look like during Thanksgiving…it was a slaughter! Feathers everywhere — not turkey feathers but Pelican feathers!

Well it must have felt like Christmas in April today for the defense as the Government went from 112 counts to 79! Yeah they say! I guess, but how deep have the prosecutors already dug the hole that may bury the Pelican and his gang of 3? This case was the toughest on Pellicano and Arneson, and again today the prosecutors played a tape of Arneson taking another big order from the big Feathered One.

It went something like this: Pellicano tells Mark Arneson (aka “Da Sarge”) that he needs a few things, and he starts. …and a name, Mirella… Esther… and several more. You hear Arneson say, “that it?” and his next response is “let me jump on it.” One thing Arneson did right and that was to hire Chad Hummel…if Mr. Hummel cannot get this guy out of the crap he is in, no one can! Chad is a force to be dealt with, and he has style and a commanding presence.

Early on the Pelican still has Wayne Reynolds stuck in his throat, I can only guess like a bony fish! Pellicano tells the court that Sherry Wainright would testify that Reynolds had “bugged” someone…hmmm, maybe his current supervisor at Conde Naste? What happened to the love, “Pops?”

Again, no one should underestimate Anthony Pellicano, this guy knows something and many are wondering what he is up to. There is more behind this case than what has come to the surface during the trial. In spite of where he sits today he is not stupid, but he is arrogant and, and as someone told me today, he just felt that he was above the law. Only time will tell what he is up to and I am going to be one of those waiting.

One of the most well known entertainment lawyers was present this morning, Marty Singer, Esq. The man is a legend and not too many people do well going up against this counselor of law, he knows the game and plays it well! Today he is with an employee of Sylvester Stallone, Kevin King Templeton — aka Kevin King, aka Kevin Templeton — anyway, this guy has name issues! “Kevin” gave testimony about Stallone …about his investment in Planet Hollywood, otherwise known as a “donation.” LOL…He took the advice of his business manager Kenneth Starr and then sued him for not giving him good advice…Oh the rich! Well, Starr hires Bert Fields and yes, here comes the Pelican! And he of course records his call to Starr, and it would appear that he knew things about what Stallone’s lawyer was going to do and who he wanted to locate! How he doin’ dat????? It must be those damn “unorthodox methods!”

Then we all found out that Sly’s alias when he travels is “Johnny Friendly” (I was travelling with a VIP client last year and I was checked in as none other than “Mr. Pretty”…and I enjoyed being called that…when you stay at the Ritz they remember your name, I heard all day, “good morning, Mr. Pretty,” “can we get that for you, Mr. Pretty,”), there were a couple of grins as a few knew what was up! And of course there was Arneson’s handiwork and the usual Pellicano “pass me your money” dance, and on and on…

Mr. Stallone’s lawyer, Mr. Lawrence Herbert Nagler, was one of the sharpest witnesses to date, this guy has been a lawyer since 1966! And he looks great and is interesting in his delivery…. This guy was up against Greenberg, Bluster and Fields and he did very well, even with the other side knowing what his plans were thanks to the Pelican’s phone tricks! Associates said Nagler hired a P.I. to “sweep” his office for bugs — too bad, the only thing that got swept was his money…YOU CANNOT FIND A TAP THROUGH A SWEEP…CAN’T DO IT!!! Mr. Starr paid Mr. Pellcano $25,000 on 2.14.02 and again on 2.20.02 $50,000…hey, don’t knock those “unorthodox” methods!

…The United States Government rested its case at 12:35 P.M. I have never done this before but I tell you these prosecutors and the agents and the courtroom security did a brilliant job! Now we get to see the defense team try and gain some ground, I am not sure if they can. I will follow up as I can in the next several days and will be present when the verdict comes down and will report it as it happens!
