After the hearing on March 11, 2010 before Judge Bonnie Sudderth of the 352nd District Court in Tarrant county, an Order to Dismiss was issued by the Court yesterday. I asked Wilma Vicedomine for a personal one on one interview and she granted that.
The one rule was that we would not talk about the Harris County case other than to say that Don Clark and Ms. Vicedomine would continue as independent consultants on certain cases as needed by the O’Quinn Law Firm during what appears to be a rather large transformation of the direction of the firm. So if you are looking for any “inside” information or my opinion of the Harris County case this is not the article for you. I remain with ALL counsel and/or parties a “Respectful Adversary”.
Ms. Vicedomine made two statements up front at the beginning of our interview. The first she was thrilled and felt great about her attorney Jonathon Stoger taking the lead in Court today; she felt “Great” at the outcome today and said she thinks Mr. Stoger is brilliant.
Ms. Vicedomine then surprised me by saying on the heels of that statement that she feels Teresa Stephens continues to have a valid case against some of the bloggers from TMZ going back to 2007. Vicedomine felt that once it began to appear that Stephens added people she was angry with, and had no valid complaint against them, was the undoing ultimately of Stephens’ case.
I was amazed that she said both in the same sentence.
We then returned to a conversation she and I had shortly after I was served with Stephens’ suit at the end of October 2009. I found myself added because of anger and not something I had done. Stephens admitted that even in emails saying, I had never written anything bad about her nor had I ever said anything to her that was bad, but I was added “because of what others were telling her I said.” I felt devastated about that and Stephens and I had some frank phone conversations and email exchanges concerning that.
Vicedomine could tell at the beginning of November 2009 my voice sounded tired and she expressed sincere concern that was shocking in itself when you hear some of the mantra of the “I am not sick” or the opposite why didn’t I do the world a favor and just “check it all in”. Vicedomine began to check up on me about every ten days and as I became weaker I heard sincere concern in her voice. She tried to kid with me about the “respectful adversary rules” we had established and she noticed I was having trouble following the conversation or staying focus. I then began to not be able to eat a lot of things I had before and the final blow was that coffee even made me sick.
Ken and I made a conscious decision after talking that he would take over more of the interaction on the blog; that we would ask guest writers like John J. Nazarian and Daniel DiCriscio to cover for me with their great articles. Ken’s family knew and Roxanne and Heath knew and tried to take up some of the slack and I continue a downhill spiral. I just could see no way that any of this would ever end, as one suit slowed down the other one blazed up. The paperwork was overwhelming and frankly life was just not that satisfactory. I had to spend more time too sick to write articles and had to spend more and more time in bed, and my two beautiful yellow labs sensed something was going on and both would lie next to me for hours.
Yet Wilma Vicedomine continued to call to check on me… WHY??? There was nothing to get from me, so why did this “evil enemy” continue to call and seem concerned. At one time she said, “Rose I am not a monster, in times like this all of us must be humanitarians and that applies to me the big bad Wilma Vice.” I thought about it and had my doubts, and yet she continued to call. As my health went down she would encourage me to hold on and to say there would be a light at the end of the tunnel and I thought “yea sure”.
When O’Dell filed her Counter Complaint and began to serve people with subpoenas for video depositions it appeared to me that the tunnel became darker. Then came the day the Hang Out forum posts were sent to me by a “cyber angel” with the information of how to contact the Irish Server and get that information for Court if needed. Again an adversary but someone on the inside that just did not think this should be done to do a video deposition of someone sick or a private person as O’Dell began to look for others to take depositions. This adversary wanted nothing except to level the “playing field”, nothing more. By the way that new server that the Hang Out is once again trying to cloak itself in secrecy someone you “trust” is still among you and contacted me that although you think you are on a safe server in Italy. that server had a Designated Agent in the U. S. to serve for records of the newest “plans” and the ongoing mantra of getting other bloggers. I will never give up the name of this person because they asked me not to, they did not want to get dragged into this mess but they just thought it should be fair and that I should know they wanted a video for You Tube. You know who you are and I owe you, I will never forget your courage to send me that information and risk being ostracized by your “fellow secret bloggers”.
However back to Vicedomine when she next called to check on me she learned of those subpoenas and that they were asking for it to be on video, she sounded sincerely angry and told me to hold on and let her do some checking around. She kept calling me to check on my health, how strange is that??? Vicedomine sounded determined and sure enough she kept her promise waived being served with the papers for the lawsuit, and entered the case. She knew there would be costs to her in preparation and charges for an attorney. That did truly amazed me and then one night she called and said “Rose hang on, I am going to have my lawyer throw out both Stephens and O’Dell’s lawsuits, hang on I promise you I am not lying and I am going to do this”.
Today her lawyer took the lead in Court and she kept her promise, the cases were not severed, or just the Harris County people dismissed, or Stephens and O’Dell could battle it out. Vicedomine wanted to stop O’Dell in her tracks, all because someone sent me that “Hangout forum comments”. When I asked her why, her simple answerer was “it is just the right thing to do”. I got the impression it was a tad personal not with Stephens for Vicedomine but with O’Dell, go figure. Vicedomine says just as she is paying all of her legal fees, O’Dell has to pay all of her own costs including all three lawyers. Vicedomine is still checking to see if she can retrieve some of her legals costs, even if O’Dell is the only one with money to go after.
At the end of our talk today on the phone when I asked her for this interview, she wanted two things stressed, she did this because “it was the right thing to do” and she still maintains that Stephens does have a valid case, it just got out of hand and so it was stopped.
Was Vicedomine lying to me these months? Did she come to the aide of other bloggers that were being hunted down and subpoenaed for the fun of it? Did she do it because of the continued hunt for Lucky as the rumors and the Hang Out forum stated?
Those answers will remain a doubt in many minds, but what if for a few months personal battles were put aside and Vicedomine did this for my health because “it was the right thing to do”.
I am going to enjoy spring and contemplate that even behind a computer monitor; those we think are pure evil do surprise us. Now Wilma Vicedomine and I will return to being “Respectful Adversaries” but the kindness shown to me as my health failed because it was simply “The right thing to do” will stay with me for a very long time. Neither of us has changed our positions in the Harris County suit but she showed a great kindness and in my book she is a true humanitarian especially on the Tarrant County case.
UPDATE OF THE MEANING OF THE TERM IN THE COURT ORDER OF “All costs related to the claims are taxed against Plaintiff.” THAT IS NO RELATING TO ATTORNEYS FEES IT IS THE COURT COSTS (I. E. filing fees, service, etc.) THAT THE COURT INCURRED IT IS A COMMON TERM AND HAS LITTLE MEANING. SO EVERYONE IS PAYING THEIR OWN ATTORNEYS FEES, INCLUDING O’DELL FOR HER THREE LAWYERS
At Rose Speaks we try to present all sides as long as it is done with manners and using that gray matter between your ears, but this to me needed to be said this night that for the first time I enjoyed two cups of coffee.
By the way Ms. Contrary is NOT in the know as she wants all to think. If she says I am not sick or that I am not on dial-up perhaps she should contact Wilma, I think she will vouch for me. If you doubt this was a win for Wilma and a huge loss for Einy, again ask Wilma to spell that out for you very carefully and very slowly.

It has been three years since Anna Nicole Smith passed away this February 8, 2010. I still cannot believe it has been three years…WOW!
I received a call from Patrik Simpson asking me to be part of a “séance” to “contact” Anna, which was going to take place on February 4, 2010 in Beverly Hills. Since it has been three years, this would be like an anniversary séance. I was told to be at Pol’ Atteu’s Boutique in Beverly Hills at exactly 11:00 AM. This was the first time I have ever been part, or have taken part in being in a Séance. I really did not know what to expect!
That morning, with overcast skies above, I walked into the boutique, and in the center of the room was a table with a pink furry throw over it, with candles on top and copies of Pol and Patrik’s book “Anna Nicole Smith: Portrait of an Icon” situated like a place mat in front of each chair on the table. On the wall was a gigantic photo of Anna, which was actually the cover of their book. On the couch were feather trimmed pink pillows with Anna’s photos in the center of each one. Also on the table there were glasses of champagne, or so one thought, but actually had water in the glasses, because as Shayne later stated “because the water is clear and Anna is clear now, Clarity”. There were also some pink wafer cookies on the table that got removed when the séance began.
Amid the cameramen (there were a few), there was Patrik Simpson, Pol’ Atteu, Shayne Goldfarb, (the Psychic), & Laura Meadows walking around the small room and getting ready for the séance. A few minutes before we started, another of Anna Nicole Smith’s friend walked in to the boutique looking extremely casual, considering everyone else looked dressy. The other friend held one of Pol and Patrik’s dogs, a small white fluffy one that had its tongue sticking out, almost like it was on tranquilizers. LOL! Anna’s friend was stroking the dog in her arms, asked if the dog was “ok” considering how laid back it was behaving. Everyone laughed! That dog was too cute, as was the Chihuahua named Anna, which was on her period and had a scarf type diaper on her back end. That dog was also very good and didn’t make a peep!
Shayne informed us all that the point of this séance was so Dannielynn, when she gets older, can hear what her mother wants her to know, and to show Dannielynn that her mother was an amazing person, with amazing friends. Shayne said that Anna wanted Dannielynn to get to know all four of us when she got old enough.
Minutes before the séance was to begin, Anna’s friend said to Patrik that she didn’t want to be part of the séance. She was going to be part but thought that after being in the room it would have been a “faux pas” on her part.
The “Séance” began! The Séance included Shayne, Patrik, Pol, Laura Meadows, and myself. We all held hands, and focused on Shayne. I was wondering if there was going to be lightning striking, “Boom”, noises, or levitating tables and such, but nothing like that happened. Shayne welcomed “friends” and “family” to the table, and introduced each one of us.
Shayne said Anna was talking through her and that we should ask questions. A lot of the questions revolved around Dannielynn. Shayne said that Anna wanted Pol and Patrik to be the parents, per se. Patrik said that Anna wanted him to sign the birth certificate. I asked if Anna wanted Dannielynn to go into showbiz and Shayne interjected loudly “No”! Pol asked if Anna missed him. I also asked if Anna has forgiven anyone since she has gone to the other side and Shayne said, “No”. (Shayne didn’t give one word answers, and did give more thorough answers to the questions we asked.) Shayne did hit on some things that were in Anna’s coffin that no one knew about, like a pillow that Pol made for Anna that was placed inside the coffin. Shayne said it wasn’t Anna’s favorite color though, Purple with other colors, because Pink was her ultimate favorite, but Anna did like it. Pol was in amazement because he said no one would have known about that pillow! Shayne also touched on the upcoming hearing as well. Anna said through Shayne that she wanted all of us seated at the table to “move on” and not dwell, and even said that Anna would like Patrik, Pol, and me to write a book together! Daniel, Anna’s son, was also discussed. Shayne, at one point of the séance, interjected “How come no one is asking about Anna’s father?” Although, Anna says “she is much happier in heaven than she was on the ground” because of all the troubles, Shayne informed us.
The cameramen circled the table and the séance actually did get intense! Actually at one point, Pol’ was sobbing with his head on the table. It was actually an “interesting” experience, but I would have liked it better if it were longer. There are so many questions one would like to ask. At the end of the séance, we each held up our glasses and saluted Anna! When I turned around, I noticed that Anna’s friend was no where to be seen. No one knew where she went, but obviously she must have snuck out I guess.
Whether you believe in “séances” or not, this was very interesting. Talk about an Anniversary! We will always love you Anna!

After celebrating New Years 2010, and my birthday was right around the corner, I decided to keep the party going and have a “Birthday Event”! Last year was the first time I ever had a “Birthday Event”, it was called “The Celebrity Freak Show” and it can now be seen on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-YYVfaSGl0.
Last years event was such a success and had such celebrities attending such as: Kayley Gable (Clark Gable’s granddaughter) and other reality stars from Paris Hilton’s BFF show and The Pick Up Artist, plus Grammy Nominated singers as well! And of course, what would a Hollywood party be without a red carpet and paparazzi. Even TMZ came to my party and signed the poster at the door for the guests who wanted to wish me a happy birthday, and signed it “You’ve been TMZ’d!” LOL!.
Since last years birthday was such a success, I was told by many that I should do a birthday event every year, so I decided to do it again this year! Considering I am going to be “25 plus postage and handling” this year, I wanted a more grown up party… so to speak. Coming up with the right venue was pretty simple to me, Mr. Black Tuesdays at “Bardot” would be ideal. Bardot is one of the “Hot” night spots in Hollywood, just ask Lindsay Lohan. Mr. Black Tuesdays has had a myriad of celebrities party there including Debbie Harry (Blondie), Boy George, & Fergie, to name a few. Mr. Black is in NYC as well.
The title for this year’s birthday event was “Daniel DiCriscio’s Sinful Sexy Selebrity Birthday”. Considering last year was such a hit, this one blew it through the roof: there were 400 guests…WOW! Instead of a Red Carpet, I decided a “Black Carpet” would be Sinfully Sexier!

The “Black Carpet” was out of control with paps and “Selebrities” like Calista Carradine (David Carradine’s daughter) , John Barrymore, Romi Dames (Hannah Montana), Alexis Arquette, Jeana Keough (Real Housewives of Orange County), Karla Guy (Dance Your Ass Off)and more. Plus two Anna Nicole alumni, private investigator John J. Nazarian and Bobby Trendy, made appearances. Yes, I am not the biggest Bobby fan as we all know, but I decided to extend the “olive branch” to him again like I did last year, because he would have probably crashed my party anyways.
The party was hosted by the Lenora Claire and Luke Nero, plus Rusty Updegraff and Gregory Alexander who were all just amazing.
And what would a party be without “assless waiters”? Yes, you heard me right. I didn’t know about that until I saw the invite from the club three days before. I remember that the club had the waiters, but for some reason I forgot when I was planning this party. The waiters added the right “balance” to this party! What fun! But I’d have to say, I think one of the best things at the party was…. The Cake! LOL! I love sweets!
Funny thing, I was told at the end of the evening from the hosts that the crowd the came to my party was very classy and had a good energy, in which I replied, “I guess you don’t know them very well” LOL! (joking of course!)
Talk about “Over the Top”! This party to me went beyond my wildest expectations!
I would like to say “Thank You” again to all who came and to those who helped make this happen. And “Thanks” for the wonderful gifts, too! : )
This morning, I went to the preliminary hearing at the court building in downtown LA. When I arrived at the courts, out front was a small group of press awaiting for the arrivals of the Anna Nicole Smith Players (Howard K. Stern, Dr. Khristine Eroschevich, and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor). I was kind of shocked at how little interest there seemed to be from the media judging by how many were there. When I started to walk to the building, I was shot by paparazzi and TMZ did a quick interview with me. TMZ asked me what my thoughts were on all of this and so on, and at the end asked me if I was sporting an Anna Nicole Smith type of hairstyle today, and I was like “Of Course!” LOL!
When I got inside the building the line to go through the security check was unbelievably long. While I was waiting in line, Dr. Khristine Eroschevich and John J. Nazarian were entering the building as flashbulbs from the press blinded them. They ended up behind me in line at the security check in. I noticed right away that Dr. Khris muted her blond color with lowlites, and she was wearing a brown skirt suit and quite high “wedgie” platform heeled slingback shoes.
When I got to the floor where the “preliminary” was being heard, I once again had to go through another “security check”. When I made it through the check, I entered the floor only to see Howard K. Stern directly in front of me, standing alone with his hands clasped in front of him in front of the court room doors, and we made direct eye contact with one another. Then his “legal” team, led by Steve Sadow with J. Chris Smith, arrived and he went into the court room with them.
Dr. Khris and John J. Nazarian were next to arrive on the floor and Dr. Khris gave me a sweet hello, as well as John. Then everyone was to be in the courtroom and take their seats, Dr. Khris with her attorney, Adam Braun, and Dr. Kapoor with his attorney, Ellyn Garafalo Esq.! Someone said to one of the reporters in reference to Larry Birkhead, and if he will arrive…”If there is a camera, Larry will show up!”
It was a small courtroom, very nicely air-conditioned, and I was happy about that! There may have been about 20 people that were attending this preliminary hearing, not counting Howard K Stern, Dr. Kris, and Dr. Kapoor, who were all seated in front of California Superior Court Judge Robert J. Perry, with the legal teams. Today Howard K. Stern was not seated at the table with everyone else today he was seated behind them, to the right, with a “slumped over” posture.
The Preliminary Hearing started with inquiries as to why the Nannies haven’t returned calls to the defense attorneys, and Judge Perry said “They don’t have to”, and quickly wanted to move forward. He didn’t want to hear that the Nannies’ couldn’t afford to call in or “phone card” ideas, or even “collect calls”.
Steve Sadow was reprimanded and asked to delete a photograph from his cell phone from Judge Perry, so it wouldn’t end up on the internet, and Mr. Sadow said he would. Nazarian and a reporter, whom said he was from CNN, were almost kicked out of the courtroom for having an outburst of emotion from something said that they didn’t agree with, and Judge Perry made it “very” clear that there were to be none of that behavior allowed or they would be cleared out of the courtroom. Judge Perry was blood red when he reprimanded them.
Then, in walks Maurice “Big Mo” Brighthaupt who took to the witness stand once again. “Big Mo” was wearing a black plaid suit with a siren red shirt. The colors in the courtroom were very drab, and Mo’s red shirt was the only thing that kept my eyes entertained.
When “Big Mo’ started to answer questions that were “ricocheted” at him, he answered mostly ever question, it seemed, honestly and heartfelt. His temperament throughout was very even. In no way was “Big Mo” condescending or rude at all. Standing at six foot six, he at one point of the preliminary had to stand up from sitting in the witness box because his legs were cramping from being in such a small area. Judge Perry said he could stand if he wanted, but I feel that Big Mo was too polite to go against the grain.
The statements that were made from “Big Mo” regarding Anna Nicole were very sad. To hear that Anna Nicole Smith almost drowned in the pool at Horizon’s, and the way Big Mo told it, made my heart cry. It seemed that after Daniel died, Anna was very very depressed and slept a lot of her days away, plus was on heavy medication. Big Mo said she went to the pool one day and was going to go into her floater so she could relax, but Anna went outside “unsupervised” and Big Mo said they heard a big splash in the house. Stern told Big Mo to go and check on Anna, and Big Mo was saying that Anna was already at the bottom of the pool, under 7 or 8 feet of water, so Big Mo dove in to save her. He said Anna defecated herself when she was under the water. Big Mo also stated that he got Anna out of the pool and gave her CPR, and water came out of her mouth. He also said that Anna had defecated herself sometimes while she was sleeping, etc, and that the house people used to talk angrily about it because they didn’t want to clean up after her.
Also Big Mo told the courtroom of how he used to have to whisper to people so Anna couldn’t hear. He would have secret sessions with Dr. Khris, etc, in another room. He said that Anna would “explode” if she knew people were talking. Also he stated that if Howard K Stern found out of the whisperings, sometimes Big Mo and Dr. Khris, Howard would run to Anna and “tattle” on them.
Judge Perry said at one point regarding the silly questions being asked by assistant D. A. Renee Rose, “This is a preliminary hearing not a trial, to see if there is probable cause exists, not a circus sideshow!”
Big Mo talked about the Anna that no one really saw except for the people close to her at this time. He spoke about her deep depression after Daniel’s death, how she was a “manipulator”, her moods, and her medications she was taking. Pills would be on a tray that she would take, that either she or Howard laid out for her. He also stated that Larry Birkhead gave Anna Nicole Smith “Ecstasy” one time when she was going to the World Music Awards. He also said that Anna was drinking Crystal at the same time.
Big Mo talked about boxes, Fed Ex size, that had medications in them that he would bring to her from California. Big Mo did say that Dr. Kapoor was never in the Bahamas, and Dr. Kapoor was grinning after he heard that statement.
Another issue was brought up in reference to Anna Nicole Smith and Dr. Khris’ relationship; Were they lovers? This idea was toyed with for quite a bit, and Dr. Khris’ face was contorting in such a way, and looked to me like she was trying hard not to say anything in her defense. Judge Perry said in reference to this allegation., “What does that have to do with it?” He wanted to drop the subject, but one Renee Rose said that another witness brought this up, and that this relationship may have made Anna more accessible to drugs, per se.
Another sad story told by Big Mo was that Anna was in Vegas another time and had gotten a 105 degree fever and flu like symptoms. Big Mo wanted to get Anna to the hospital but said that Dr. Khris, Alex (Dr. Khris’ friend), and Howard K Stern wanted to put Anna into a cold bath with ice, and the three of them did. Big Mo was saying that someone with an extreme temperature shouldn’t have such a sudden change in temp, it should be gradual. Big Mo said Anna refused to go to the hospital because she feared the paparazzi would be there when she arrived.
Big Mo actually got a little sentimental at one point and wiped his left eye, and said he sometimes felt he blamed himself for Anna’s demise.
Big Mo said that Howard K Stern had “suicidal thoughts” when Anna died.
Another subject was “Spoons”. Big Mo said because there was a spoon that was burnt on the bottom, and if you take Vitamin B12, there is no need to heat it up. Anna’s use of Chloral Hydrate was also in discussion. Plus, the fact that Anna at times was taking “Placebo’s”.
Steve Sadow, Stern’s lead attorney, must have had a hundred “I Object’s”, he was like a puppet that kept going up and down from his seat! At one point during the preliminary hearing, one reporter looked like they were taking a little nap, but woke up in a few minutes, LOL! Most of us here covering this hearing felt like we were intruding on something very private, I was sitting next to the ET reporter, Kevin Frazier, and the AP gold standard reporter, Linda Deutsch was sitting in front of me. I found that almost in unison we would turn to look at the clock I for one felt like we each wanted to be somewhere else and not prying into this very private world of Anna Nicole Smith.
Unfortunately, I had to leave early; too much Apple Pie will make you throw up, get my drift? Although, I wish it was Apple Pie!
Anna Nicole took some of the most beautiful pictures during her days, but hearing all of this testimony left you with a picture that was not so pretty. So I left early with a tear and a heavy heart I just could not stay any longer.

The definition of “Friend” in Hollywood doesn’t usually mean the same thing as it does in other parts of the world, or in other parts of the USA for that matter. Hollywood has been known to be “two-faced” and full of “users” trying to find ways to get fame off of someone that they think has it. You have to be careful. As one of my celebrity friends once told me, “If someone is too nice, or “syrupy sweet”, BEWARE!”
I come from the east coast originally and I have grown up with “preppy” wolves, but Hollywood isn’t at all the same; it is a thousand times worse. The thing is when I was growing up with “the wolves”, “Fame” wasn’t the issue at hand because there wasn’t any showbiz there.
Yes, there may be exceptions to this “friend” rule in Hollywood, and Alana Stewart may fall into this category. The thing that happens though in Hollywood is, and I have said this before, the circles are very, very small.
I went to Alana Hamilton’s Book signing on August 17, 2009, at The Grove in Los Angeles. Alana was promoting her new book “My Journey with Farrah”. She did a reading, and she actually was a very good reader, and signed copies of her new book! I am one of Farrah Fawcett’s biggest fans plus I appreciated Alana’s “closure” on Farrah’s death. I think it is very admirable that Farrah’s death was documented. This was, everyone knows the truth of her demise and no rumors could be started. I also have such admiration for Alana and her commitment to Farrah as a “true friend”. Yes, I have heard many times at how people aren’t really into hearing sad news, but I am someone who likes reality: good and/or not so good.
I can see how Farrah would like Alana: they both hail from Texas, both blond (which sometimes may be a “friend” no-no in Hollywood), and both are in the mainstream Hollywood spotlight. Also, Alana has an amazingly soft and “caring” voice, and sometimes her “Texas drawl” comes through. A thirty year friendship is hard to discount, that is how long Farrah and Alana were friends.
I am pretty sure Farrah had her guard up with letting people into her life. With Farrah, I am sure a lot of people had an agenda trying to get to know her.
Alana really did do something incredible though, taking 3 years of her life and helping Farrah. I see that Farrah “chose” Alana over what seems family and other friends. Maybe Alana was like a sister to her and Ryan couldn’t give her “maternal” care, per se. I know that Alana said that Farrah and she were like “soul-sisters”. Only Farrah would know the answer to why Alana was chosen.
The thing about this situation is that some may be wondering why Alana put out a book and that maybe she was capitalizing on Farrah’s death. Alana cleared up any of those ideas by telling us at the signing that she was offered to write a book about her “journey” with Farrah and she asked Ryan O’Neal etc, and Ryan said that he felt that she should since a lot of books on Farrah will be coming out, and she would tell the truth. So Alana did it!
The thing is Hollywood is that the word “Friend” is sometimes easily thrown around. I have been in a lot of celebrity circles, scandals, etc, and have seen the misuse of that word all too much. But I feel that Alana is the “real deal” and I am glad that she was Farrah’s “Friend”, to the end.

It seems that sometimes life is hard enough, especially when it comes to “Celebrity”, but now it definitely seems that death can be just as cruel as well. With Michael Jackson’s death comes a whole new string of problems, per se. How come when “death” comes around it brings out the best, and worst, in people.
Not only now with Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson, who won’t be controlling Michael’s estate, it seems another can of worms has been opened up. It seems “death” is a messy business and Wills are always a surprise to many, even to the closet of kin. Have you noticed that “Wills” are never really clear to the individuals that are family? Are only the lawyers aware of what is in them? Why is that? It is like a “faux pas” to ask someone to see their Will or talk about them. Wills are right up there with things not to talk about like Religion, Money, and Sex.
Now with Michael Jackson’s death, all the “vultures” are circling, and seem to be circling “hard”! What really surprises me is that I have yet to see a single tear come out of anyone’s eye regarding Michael’s death, in particular his family. Jermaine Jackson was on Larry King Live at the Never Land Ranch and seemed to be in a pretty good mood, with smiles and not one single tear shed. Although, I didn’t finish watching the show because of Jermaine’s surreal behavior, so if he did cry towards the end of it, then so be it, I stand corrected.
Another strange incident was Nancy Grace’s interview with Michael Jackson’s “UK friend”. The friend blamed the media on Michael’s prescription drug diet and his way of life. Also, Michael was prescribed medications under different names, sound familiar? Not only did I feel like I heard what he said before, but I think I said the same thing about Anna Nicole Smith. To paraphrase, I think he said something like “You can’t tell a celebrity, they do as they want, and people do what the celebrity wants, and so on.” Although Nancy Grace did not appreciate his “Media” slam and she let the “UK friend” know it!
And now on this coming Tuesday, July 7, 2009, Michael Jackson will have his Public Memorial Service at The Staples Center in downtown LA. I, for one, cannot believe how many fans are remembering Michael Jackson in Los Angeles and Hollywood. The Staples Center is most likely going to bring pandemonium. I recently visited Michael Jackson’s Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. I went to it because I was in a Celebrity Fashion Show that was at Hollywood and Highland which is right there next to Michael’s Star. It was midnight and there must have been 300 people and many “Remembering Michael” T-shirt vendors surrounding his star. I pushed my way through and got a picture by the star. Fans left so many flowers and memorabilia, it was very sweet and overwhelming.
Farrah Fawcett’s Star on the Walk of Fame is a block away from Michael’s on the same side of the street. I decided to go to hers and see what was happening over there. To my dismay, there was only one guy there who looked homeless, lighting a candle for her site, and a couple walked by and took a quick look. I took a photo at her star as well. Farrah did have stuffed toys, handwritten letters, and many photos of Farrah in her “Glory Days” but nowhere as much as Michael. And remember, it is only a block away.
I am sure the Jackson family is mourning, and I send them my condolences if they are reading this. I know it is great to remember and show the good times and memories of Michael Jackson, but I would like to see some “real” emotion come from someone. It is never easy when “death” comes around, obviously!

Remember the song “It’s a Family Affair”? Well, it seems that Michael Jackson’s death is bringing this true to some of The Jackson clan, especially when lights, cameras, and the word “Action!” are part of the carrot dangled in some of their faces, or so it seems. I personally do not know how I would be handling such a situation if I were in their shoes, and I can only surmise.
Death brings out strange personality traits, behaviors, & actions when a celebrity dies, and sometimes even when they aren’t celebrities. The vultures start circling sometimes. LOL!
In this case with Michael Jackson, I am shocked at how soon Joe Jackson and Janet Jackson have spoken so quickly under very odd “show-bizzy” situations. I mean, let’s be real….The BET Awards? Is this the proper thing that should have been done? Yes, the press said Janet seemed “visibly shaken” but I thought that is was very tasteless for Janet and especially Joe to be at this Red Carpet event, and dressed to the nines, both of them. I felt it was sort of “too soon” for any kind of celebratory event to be attending. A video montage is one thing honoring Michael without their involvement. I was thinking more of the “mourning” phase to be more appropriate.
Joe Jackson, not supposedly on Michael’s best side …nor the public’s or the press’ for that matter, didn’t fail everyone’s expectations when he arrived with his fedora and black suit and shades, yet not shedding a tear! Some would say they saw $$$ signs thru his shades! Although, it really doesn’t shock me. I remember being invited to and attending Joe Jackson’s Birthday Party in 2004 in Las Vegas. ( I sent in Rose a picture from that event with Joe.) The birthday party was a little odd because not one of Joe’s family attended, and it was a huge event at a private mansion, that had Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s parked in the driveway. Although, to make it even stranger than you can imagine, Joe hired a Michael Jackson Look-alike for the party! And the impersonator performed as well!
At the premiere for Bruno, Universal decided to cut out the LA Toya Jackson’s part from the movie last minute http://www.thecelebritycafe.com/features/29658.html. Jeez, talk about quick editing! (I also sent Rose a photo of La Toya and Me in Vegas), as well! Universal thought that they were being “respectful”" to the Jackson clan during this terrible time, yet Janet and Joe feel being seen in a showbiz situation was the right thing to do….I’d like to hear what you think of Joe and Janet at the BET Awards.
It is tough being in the “the Biz”, but for some reason “ethics” doesn’t play a role in it usually, it is usually “everyone’s out for themselves” mentality. With families, dysfunctional comes with the turf and really, we don’t know what has gone down between Michael and his family members, all we can do is surmise. I met Michael Jackson backstage at a music special filming that included Whitney Houston and found Michael to be a very mannered and sweet smiling soul. I really didn’t feel any evil kind of energy from him, but remember, everyone has a bad side to them.
The one thing that did shock me when I met Michael was that I was much taller him – LOL!
