The following news clips came from someone that I have a great deal of respect for and that is Linda Deutsch, the legend from AP. I hope that she does not mind me using them, but I have a reason.
“Under questioning by Deputy District Attorney David Barkhurst, [Dr. Harold] Schueler said he did not find the powerful sleeping medication chloral hydrate in Smith’s bodily fluids because it has a very short life of about four minutes.But he said he found metabolites showing the drug had been present in large amounts and had probably been taken for eight days straight.”
Dr. Eroshevich was beyond helpful in the early stages of this investigation, to the point of suggesting that Dr. Perper dig deeper into the buttocks of Anna Nicole Smith. When he did he found “pockets of infection,” that would have gone unnoticed.. Had it not been for Dr. Eroshevich, I too believe that it would have gone unnoticed (Wondering, if you cook a medication down in a spoon, like a junkie, and then draw it up into a less than sterile syringe and inject the same into the area of the buttocks, does that leave residual material behind to cause an infection?). It was smart that Dr. Khris assisted the coroner, and more to the point that she was being open and wanting to make sure that there was no question as to the amount of medications that were still sitting in the bottles. Lots of drugs for sure, however, lots still not used. This was very smart…
“No illegal drugs were detected by the toxicology tests, he said.”
Now if I was sitting in that jury I would be right about now saying to myself, “self, why am I sitting here?” “no illegal” drugs does it not get any simpler than that? All I have to do now is hear “therapeutic” level and I should go home. This is a twist, is it not? …Dr. Eroshevich did take a great deal of care to try and monitor and control the intake of the Blond Bomb Shell…that same “bomb” that blew these peoples’ careers right into the crapper. No matter what the outcome of this “trial,” these three will be credited with the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Sure, Drumb and Drumber and The Drum Major, “march this way and follow me, I am in complete control”…
…Under questioning by lawyer Steve Sadow, who represents defendant Howard Stern, Schueler said all of the drugs except for the chloral hydrate were present in small amounts at “a therapeutic level.”
“Therapeutic Level,” I was not present, but I bet “The Gentleman from Georgia,” Steve Sadow did one of those glances towards the jury, as to say, “did you hear that?” …
…“A chart prepared by Schueler showed the medications were prescribed by numerous doctors, including some in the Bahamas, with many of the labels showing pseudonyms for Smith, including Michelle Chase, Susie Wong and Jean Smith.”
Michele Chase is back on the “set,” girlfriend! Tell me did you ever think that this would get to this point…a simple name, “Michele Chase,” if the girls at the club could see you now. Having read a great deal over the last several months I got it, the “relationship,”… …Did they fall into a political trap? Should there not be others warming the seats? Quite frankly, Dr. Eroshevich was trying her best to try and save ANS from killing herself. …She really wanted to help, and try and get it right, it is no fun sitting and traveling with a dead celebrity, quite frankly the whole thing at some point would be a real stinker. Another good word, “stinker,” “stinks” and “scheming,” let’s do this, as this trial goes along let’s pick words that will reflect what this case is really about. These are good starters, I promise there will be some Hum Dingers when the cast of characters leaves “Hooterville.”

Here’s a little update on today’s court proceedings. I only copied the end part because I had a question as to who the boyfriend was around the time Dr Kovner said he mentioned rehab. I also found the last sentence very interesting.

Kovner says Smith had chronic pain from an unknown cause and took drugs for both physical and emotional relief. He says he once talked to Smith and her boyfriend about getting her into rehab but she refused.
He also says she had a substance abuse disorder so severe that “she could become addicted to Jello.”

Well this is not the first time I am going to disagree with John and me thinks it won’t be the last either. I don’t believe anyone wanted Anna dead but I also believe that when a doctor needs enough drugs to keep someone “knocked out” then she should consider herself to be in something way above her head. Every single one of the people that were involved in Anna’s life holds some of the responsibility of her death including her mother. Anna was a trainwreck waiting to happen and there were many that were willing to drive that train by enabling her.
Anna was in a severe depression. I believe the straw that broke her back was Daniel’s birthday had just past. That fact alone may have sent her over the edge and given to what she stated in many interviews, she felt that Daniel was lost. Maybe she thought she could show him the way. I can only imagine the dispair that she must have felt at the loss of her son. Add the stress of the DNA fight, the hormonal changes she was going through, the Horizon home fight and Daniel’s death. IMO, Anna did not have it in her to deal with anything anymore. Her rock was gone. While people had things to do, everyone left her alone that day… well ok, not exactley alone but from what I have been reading in certain blogs, Taz was busy looking into things on Anna’s computer… not surfing the internet but actually looking at files on that computer. Well at least someone is stating that is what Taz did. To hell with checking on Anna, let’s see what we can find on her computer.
You know maybe some should not ask for a trial to go back to Florida. I think people better keep in mind that those same dxrugs that killed Anna were shipped to Moe’s house. He had to have known what was in that package when he took it to the hotel. Do we not have Taz in an interview stating that she knew there were drugs in that shipment? If Stern, Dr E and Kapoor get charged for the death of Anna Nicole Smith, so should the people who delivered those drugs to Anna because without them, she might still be alive also.
JMA – ” addicted to jello” – sad isn’t it. I recall reading/seeing/hearing elsewhere that Anna had an addicted personality such as binges of fried chicken or twinkies or sex or alchohol. As an model/actress, her career depended upon being attractive and in shape. I remember watching Anna’s show and thinking how much she had changed. This was not the Anna seen in previous photos and film clips. I still say Anna never had the guidance or education needed in her growing years to function in a adult world. Anna needed love, someone to hold her, to be there for her, someone to prepare her for the world. Unfortunately, she dealt with the world the best she could while dealing with demons of the past. She never had a chance.
Sammy1 [4] yes Dr. Kovner knowing Anna had what he says “a severe substance disorder” and could in his opinion easily get addicted to something as simple as “Jell-O” but he continued to write prescriptions for her! WTH? Also if I’m reading the articles correctly in reference to the court proceeding, he was also writing prescriptions for her using aliases.
I agree due to Anna’s lack of parental guidance, love and education she was doomed from the very start. One does not [this being if the Dr. is correct] have/get a “sever substance disorder” overnight IMO!

Haven’t you realized by now that Moe was LYING about that? If the authorities involved with this case had bothered to do their research, they would know that there is no such thing as “liquifying” ground-up valium pills for injection by “cooking” them in a spoon. These type of tablets are comprised mostly of chalky binders and fillers that don’t melt down when heated. It would be almost akin to dealing with sand. For those so inclined, an alcohol-based chemical solution mixed with the pill powder in a cold process utlizing micron-filtration would be used to extract the active ingredient allowing a useable liquid to be created. “Cooking” wouldn’t work.
The only reason Moe was “given” that false claim to spew was to further damage Howard and reinforce Anna’s “drug addict” image. Note that Moe has changed the details of that story several times. Anna’s REAL injections she was receiving in the Bahamas were established to be Human Growth Hormone, Immunoglobulins, and Vitamin B12.

Did you by chance watch the video I provided? You can tell Moe is lying by look at his eyes, he doesn’t look directly at Geraldo and when he does his eye are shifty while helping Geraldo sensationalize about the supposed cooking medications/drugs on a spoon bit. Moe also seemed to stutter whenever he would say “well Howard said” anyone else notice that?
I remember now the shots, could they tell though what drugs were used in the injection sites?? ie residue. To either disprove or prove the theory. Where did cooking valium come from? It is so long ago I am not up with it all.
It is ok to disagree with me, I am however standing by what I have stated. The question you ask as to the ‘binders’ was exactly the basis of my open ended thought. Funny thing I recall as a young cop, every lie has a little bit of truth in it……in time, in time. Moe was not the only one singing that jingle if you will recall. Certainly the two nannies also made the pill-cooking claim when interviewed by the Seminole police detective. However that took place AFTER these two women had already spoken with associates of Virgie Arthur, and O’Quinn later implied to LB that they had gotten them to lie about Howard. Whoever coached Quethlie and Nadine to make this ludicrous claim also coached Moe to do the same thing for the same reasons. The “kernal of truth” in the situation is that Anna was indeed receiving injections while in the Bahamas, but of the three different supplements, not a home-made liquid sedative. (If they wanted injectable valium why not get the kind manufactured by the drug companies?) Plus Howard would have indeed been seen giving Anna these shots on occasion, while syringes would have been seen in the house.
The fact still remains it is physically impossible to create an injectable liquid that way. The sludgy silt in the spoon would clog the needle, yet on “Access Hollywood” Moe described witnessing practically the entire process of “melting” pills, implying it took only minutes, ending with Howard drawing up a pure liquid into a syringe, which is not possible. Plus Moe now claiming to have seen different burnt spoons over multiple days when Anna was “too weak to swallow”? How was she taking all these other pills then, not to mention eating and drinking? And with Dr. E standing by allowing it all to happen? Does Moe believe people are that gullible? He deserves at least one perjury charge.

There was a case we watched on tv the other night…not sure if it was Forensic Files or another show…but they did talk about this doctor who killed his gf by injecting her with liquefied pills. What caused her death, they said, wasn’t the drugs but the fillers in the pills, which over time clogged up her arteries and eventually caused her death.

Well Justme….. the thing is that no one but a few believe that VA never made any money. These documents prove that when she was on the witness stand in the burial hearing and she had to “stop” for a moment, in my opinion to think about what she was going to say, and she pointed her at HKS and said “HE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS MADE MONEY IN THIS.” Well…… she was lying even at that point. Look, NO ONE is innocent in this thing. THEY HAVE ALL LIED ABOUT SOMETHING. I personally think that HKS is a narcassitic bastard BUT, he did NOT murder or cause the death of anyone. I do believe he enabled Anna’s drug use by picking up the meds or handing them to her but then again….. I have had drug addicts and alcoholics in my family. I have given my drug addicted cousin money before to get a hotel room or something to eat and I knew in my heart he was going to buy drugs with it again but…… you enable the ones you love and sometimes that is a VERY hard habit to break.
While they are discussing money Virgie made let s not forget ,her share of Rita Cosby book sales ,where the guest of Honor contributed to her book Can anyone believe this so called mother took money from a book which she had been a part of calling her own daughter a tramp.Vergie now wants more tv time as a griving mother and grandma.

You are right at some point and time we do enable someone and sometimes we don’t know that we are. With that said, I’ve been there done that!! I gave a relative who came to me, money. Yeah heard the sad story how they were having problems making ends meet and if they didn’t come up with X amount of dollars they were gonna loose their vehicle and there was only a few payments left and then it would be paid off. Now what I did was, because of knowing why they didn’t have the money I didn’t hand the money to them directly, I paid off the vehicle.
Yes I still enabled them in two ways…
One: I bailed them out by paying the vehicle off…
Two: by paying their vehicle off for them, it freed up more money for them to feed their habit with.

VA gets 1/2 of picture/video sold to other media outlets. With Exh Q and transaction sheets in Exh R – VA has basicallly collected in the neighorhood of $400k for materials produced in early pictures of Anna and Daniel, Daniel’s Memorial service in Texas, picture visiting Daniel’s grave in the Bahamas along with others.

JMA – yes, many if not all have in some way enabled someone we loved. My ex was an alcoholic. I never bought the booze or gave him a drink and when the drinking became unbearable demanded that alcohol was not to be brought into the home under any circumstances. That said, I enabled in other ways, taking all phone calls, making excuses for him, rejecting dinner invitations with family and friends, paid all the bills (allowing him to spend his), took on more responsibilities around the house, took on mowing and trimming of the yard. Hell, I even painted the exterior of a contemporary tri-level all cedar house to the tune of 35 gallons of paint because he was never home. He stayed away, drinking at the Eagles or at his shop. Friends would drive him home so they in turn became enablers. Yes, he went through rehab, stayed his full month and 3 weeks later was drinking again. With that, I filed for divorce. And before the other site claims there were hidden bottles – no there weren’t any to be found when I cleaned out the house and sold it. In regards to medications, yes, others have handed me pills and I willingly took them. Family members have picked up medications from the local pharmacy using my credit card or cash without any questions from the pharmacist. To my knowledge, no family member has a medication/drug problem but one doesn’t always know.

I remember I think Swims writing that the money made from Anna’s stolen pics and interviews would pay easily for the Law Suits and thought it a bit interesting but apparently it is true in a way.. Virgie used Anna to destroy Anna and her memory and reputation. Probably the SC crew did the same thing.
So thats how the Lawyers were paid.
I’m willing to bet that a very small amount went to lawyers BEFORE O’Quinn came on board. As a matter of fact, I believe the depo says that somewhere. O’Quinn has a contengency deal like HKS had with Anna on the Marshall stuff.

The Texas case must cost a packet and the payout to Howard in Florida must have been a bit, let alone costs, but then they settled instead of showing the balance sheets, now we know they had debts of $90 million, according to gossip
I can’t see how the O’Quinn law firm can recoup costs on this case.

#39 Grammy – I believe Clark was a CNN paid consultant for a period of time. On other shows he was a guest.
It’s my understanding that guests on various talk shows are not paid for the interview but if video/pictures are provided by the guest then payments are made/ Just as VA was paid for video/pictures through Splash as a result for interview appearances. As far as attorneys go, I rather doubt it unless they are appearing as paid consultants.

VA hasn’t paid a penny to O’Quinn in my opinion and she won’t. They believed they could cook up some kind of conspiracy and get the big money to settle instead of fight it but in this instance that didn’t happen. there is no way they are going to recoup any money from this and they are way to far into it. IMO O’Quinn took on VA not to seek justice for the *cough* grieving mother/grandmother, IMO O’Quinn wanted a slice of the Marshall pie and the only way to get it was to take Virgie Author mother of the deceased Plaintiff to the Marshall lawsuit on as a client. I’m sure when O’Quinn contacted VA and offered his legal representation he thought it would be simple as pie [Marshall pie] that’s until he/they found out Anna left Howard as Executor of her Estate.
IMO that is when Plan B went into effect, get charges against HKS and if he’s convicted of a crime he will no longer be Executor of the Estate.

I read both sides and even friends,at the time ,of the Marshall’s finially told the truth about what the son did to Anna and by the way to his brother also.JMO Took me forever to read thru the supreme court records.Everyone jumped on Anna but those people were are scum bags for how they treated Anna.One way or another it seems the Marshall family took everything away from Anna that the father gave her..I saw the pictures of the man having fun with Anna.She may not have gotten half but she certainly deserved some compensation as his wife.JMO

I have always believe VA never really thought HKS hurt her daughter other than getting the prescriptions and giving her her meds.I think O’Quinn put that in her head and just kept it going.I also have family members pick up my meds for me and use my debit card to pay for them,Sometimes I am home bound and the weather affects whether I can go out or not.IMO VA is just along for the ride and hopes for some money eventually.The non suit tewlls it all no insurance you get dropped,insurance you are added.

LOS ANGELES — A hospital psychiatrist testified Friday that medication given to Anna Nicole Smith by a doctor now on trial was “overkill” for the kind of pain she was describing.
Dr. Nathalie Maullin said she believed Smith had “a borderline personality disorder” and was addicted to prescription medications.
Maullin said she was on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in April 2006 when Smith was brought in pregnant and in withdrawal from anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the pain killer Methadone. The celebrity model told her she had gone “cold turkey,” discontinuing her medications all at once because she was concerned for the welfare of her expected baby.
By doing that, Maullin said, she had actually endangered the baby and herself. The doctor said she quickly resumed her medication with Methadone and began weaning her off Xanax, both of which had been prescribed by Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, a defendant in the drug conspiracy case.
“My thoughts were these were very hard core medications to be giving for the kind of pain she was demonstrating,” said Maullin. “She was on medication that seemed like overkill for the type of pain she was in.”
She said it was difficult to get a medical history from Smith because she was “putting on a show” and was deferring questions to her lawyer-boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, who was with her at all times.
Kapoor, Stern and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich have pleaded not guilty to conspiring to provide excessive opiates and sedatives to Smith. They are also charged with prescribing drugs to an addict, but are not charged with causing her 2007 overdose death.
Maullin said Stern told her Smith had been suffering from back pain for five years. She said the former Playboy model also complained of pain in her upper back and arm.
Another doctor who testified earlier this week said Smith suffered from chronic pain syndrome all over her body.
Maullin said she conferred with Kapoor by phone, gave him her plan for weaning Smith off Xanax and any drugs known as benzodiazopines which can be addictive. She said he agreed and told her he would leave the prescribing of Methadone to her.
“Did you see any pain that needed treatment with opiates?” asked the prosecutor.
“No,” Maullin said.
The problem was that Smith showed no enthusiasm for the plan, the doctor said.
“It was like pulling teeth to get some response from her,” she said. “She was compliant but not really interested. She was not wholehearted.”
Five days after Smith checked in to the hospital, Maullin said she received a page at midnight from a nurse that said Smith’s eyes had rolled back in her head.
That sounded like a drug reaction and a one-time dose of Benadryl was prescribed, Maullin said. However, the next day, she received another call saying Smith was having hallucinations.
“The nurse said that she was flossing her teeth with no floss and was out of it,” Maullin said. “This was a radical change.”
Under questioning by Deputy District Attorney David Barkhurst, Maullin said she did not consider this an emergency and she tended to other patients before going to see Smith five hours later.
“In psychiatry, we are used to seeing patients do strange things,” she said.
Upon her arrival, Stern told Maullin that Smith “was generally acting goofy.” Smith was angry and made no eye contact but seemed lucid, Maullin said.
The psychiatrist said she suggested that Smith go into an inpatient facility that deals with addicts. But Smith wasn’t interested and told Stern she wanted to leave the hospital.
Maullin said she informed Kapoor and he said he would go to her house.
“I thought that was unusual,” she said. “Physicians generally see patients in the office or the hospital. There was no reason she could not leave her home to come to see him. Just in terms of proper boundaries with patients, you see them in your office.
“She needed to participate in her care,” Maullin said. “It’s not a home delivery service.”

Whatever happened to compassion for a patient?, Anna was there wasn’t she trying to do what she could out of concern for her unborn baby but oh chit her Dr. finds a problem with her enthusiasm are you kidding me?, What a crock. imo.
