To our loyal readers and the friends we have made via Rose Speaks.com in the last 31 months, my how time flies when you are having fun and an insightful dialogue as we have had with all of you.
We were notified before noon on November 30, 2009 that a lawyer has been retained, an engagement letter executed and it was a “done deal”, to sue us for harming a peripheral person in all of this. We are AGAIN being sued This one is in Georgia for harming someone’s professional image, we are assuming it will be in federal court, but won’t know until we are served.
Over the last two years we have been hailed into a Texas federal court, we are currently battling two cases pending in Texas, Harris County and now a second case in Tarrant County with a new suit on the horizons in Georgia. They all involve our putting up pubic paperwork on the cases surrounding Anna Nicole Smith, and in the Tarrant County case part of the allegations is a conspiracy with one of the law firms in the Harris County lawsuit.
It is ironic that the “All Things Anna Nicole Smith” for the most part is over in the almost 2 million people who cross the threshold to Rose Speaks.com monthly, fewer and fewer cared about the suits surrounding Anna Nicole Smith. However we had given our word that we would continue to put up the public paperwork on the Anna Nicole Smith cases because we had promised our first posters over two years ago that for them we would see that the public filings were available to them via our website to the end of the cases. Sorry folks but it looks like that is a promise we will not be able to keep.
It has been very painful for me especially over the last couple of days to come to terms that we could not afford to go on with two active lawsuits and a third on the horizon. We were just about to undertake hundreds of hours of redesigning the site to make it more user friendly to both our old as well as our new readers as we branched out to more current high profile cases, and we were excited about doing that.
As Ken told me we can not financially or health wise afford anymore. He has come up with a great analogy, being a history buff. That many ships in history when they found themselves surrounded and unable to continue the fight they would scuttle the ship and have it go to the ocean floor before handing it over to an adversary.
Thus once the site is closed, it will show that exact time stamp on the server and on the back up, in case anything involving the site is subpoena by any of the parties of the current and new lawsuits. Ken feels that is the only way to beat off any possible allegations that the site might be tampered with to avoid discovery.
If not for that reason we would have continued forward overhauling the existing site. We shall miss all of you very much.
We are leaving the site open for all of you until midnight CST on December 5 not to write anymore articles but to allow those who want to download papers on the many suits we are following to have time to do that. All sections of our downloads will be open to all until that time, including the debunking of Rita Cosby’s book.
We had hoped to come back at a later date with the site, we will NEVER sell the site name. We thought the Anna Nicole Smith saga had just about ran it’s course, but with the newest book announced “The Murder of Anna Nicole Smith” by the ex-Judge Larry Seidlin I have to agree with one of our posters, this Anna Nicole Smith saga and ongoing and new lawsuits is NEVER going to end.
We again want to tell all of you even being pulled into many lawsuits for what we believed was freedom of speech on a public issue of interest to the public should not have brought us into the first federal court, let alone three suits now. It is ironic that we are the only site owned individually that I know of that actually never became a front or site to represent talking points by any of the people in any of these cases. We actually also enforced both the TOS and Privacy Policy of Rose Speaks.com, something rarely seen on other sites.
We wish you all the happiest of holiday seasons, continued good health and hope you continue the tradition of exchanging thoughts and dialogue on so many cases that will come out over the years. We wish you speed in finding a new blog where you feel safe to express your public view on any case of public interest you wish to comment on.
We thank all of you from the bottom of our heart for your support and readership, we thank our administrators and moderators who put in long hours free behind the scenes to make a site this large thrive while looking effortless.
I guess the appropriate ending with our gallows sense of humor is “That’s All Folks”!

God bless and take care of each other.It is such a shame that a site that puts up both sides of a case will be shut down no matter the reason.Isn’t it funny that it is the ANS case in the end was the cause of this site being shut down when it is what started the site in the first place.An man condemned by the media to be guilty by public opinion instead of by a court of law. I’m so sorry to hear this, it is sad that it has come to this :-( I have enjoyed every moment spent here. I guess some people got what they wanted so what’s left for them, well they could always express their hatred at their reflection in the mirror then maybe they can see how truly ugly they really are. As for me, well life goes on but as for my blogging days they are done [so those who are searching me, happy hunting beotches] I refuse to post anywhere else. Well unless someone from here has any ideas as to where we all can meet up. I have met many great people here and I will miss every one of you. Folks, we have a…..thought…to put up before y’all to see how y’all feel. We think there maybe a way to stay open, but it will mean a big change and sacrifice from all on here. We will have to stop writing articles or discussing any and all things related to the ANS case and it’s “off-shoot” cases…ie, the SC case, the trial in CA. We will be able to put up the papers for y’all to read, but that is absolutely it. In order to keep from having more lawsuits filed against us (yes, there is the threats of them being held over our heads), we will have to….and I hate to say this…”control” (I refuse to use the other ‘C’ word) what is talked about on here. We would not be able to allow any talk or mention of anything related to ANS or it’s related cases. Period. It will be totally off limits and if found, will be taken off.
We felt…myself, rose, rox and heath…that in all fairness, we should come to y’all and offer up this compromise and see if y’all thought keeping the site open, with those restrictions in place, would be worth it.

NO ONE here has hurt anybody’s professional image!!!!!, The so called professionals has done that all on their own with their own actions! They put themselves front and center in a very public setting and everything discussed is public knowledge by way of public transcripts, docs and depos, If they don’t like their image maybe they should look at their own actions. Unbelievable but not unexpected. I truely feel for those of you who have been slammed over and over. And yet with much gumption held your head high.
Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me…. Through these last few years, too many times to count, I couldn’t believe what I read that passed from some fingertips. Shocking yes..some circumstances, understandable if it was a heat of the moment thing. I can only imagine how weary you are. It’s a shame that it’s come to this, with what was started as I saw it as a total sham.
There’s been so many thoughts tho that I’ve loved to read and gravitated to those posters who presented their thoughts and why they felt the way they did. Without slams and insults but gave food for thought and a reasoning to maybe look at an idea a different way. Those are the kinds of posters that I’ll miss.
All of you I feel a great fondness for and when I didn’t read your thoughts, I wondered if you were ok or just involved with life.
I’ll still wonder about you…I’ll still check in but if I’ve learned anything from following Anna’s life, I don’t want to get involved with anything like this again. As was said, so long ago, there are no heros involved anywhere. The only ones I’ve seen are those that stood up for their convictions. That were proud of the ‘fence sitter role’. That only wanted the full story and not someone’s embellishments of the facts. Having an opinion should not be a cross to bear.
In the last month, I’ve read over 10 books. Fiction can be a wonderful thing. I could tell that it could take years before ‘answers’ that I’ve been waiting for, came to be. If they never come, my life will go on. I’m still blessed to have spent time here and share this slice of cyberspace with you. So thank you Rose and Ken. Heath..I like your cool spunky spirit. There is so much more to talk about. besides there are other places where one can post about the subject which doesn’t allow the kind of things that topix allows.

Rose Speaks, as far as I am concerned, the most respectable site out there on the internet. You enforce the TOS which is more than I can say about other sites I have been on. Hello everyone, I have been truly touched by your comments here and the phone calls (I. E. Roxanne and others).
Here is the deal offered kind of and here is what I would want to do if we stay open.
I can continue to write about anything with the understanding that if it is not acceptable to one of their clients, they can call me and have me change it….. That is a no go with me so then on to what I would be willing to do.
So my thoughts are as follows… On the ANS situation we can write about documents, articles and files connected to everyone, but will ONLY do articles about my opinion on those that this one law firm does not have as a client. (I. E. if it involves one of their clients the documents will be listed and available to MEMBERS only as JMA has suggested (BTW great suggestion), if it is only about the other ppl and lawyers (I. E. the Estate’s answer in S. C. due on the 7th, I will do an article but leave out any thoughts on any of the parties that this one law firm tells us they represent).
We will branch out so there is no more than one one article and/or just papers listed if not an article out of the 7 articles on the front page that has anything to do with ANS. We can cover the criminal trial and preliminary dates included (however I feel in order to be safe and not sorry just as Ms. Barth has not received a tag for google even, we will handle it the same way on any possible attorney, clients etc of that one law firm). In fact we have a waiting list of articles some ppl have submitted as ideas, because if I cover it I am always factual with links papers etc.
I will also listen to where your interests are in cases we cover. So what I am saying there will be very few articles if any on ANS other than the “new doucments up” with a date and who filed it and a link until the site is revamp and then the links will be redo but also ONLY open to members.
We will open up the forum section to MEMBERS only where you can share chit chat and jokes recipes etc. and no one else like the “T” posters will have access.
I am still working through this but I would rather be overly cautious and not be in the position I found myself in this week, and I don’t want any of the firms involved to dictate to me… I am just WAY not comfortable with that type of rules and there are plenty of propaganda on other sites that will give the type of exposure we will not be doing.
Look I have been really torn up about this for over 2 days and I don’t ever want to go through anything like this again and I certainly as I have told all of these law firms will not promote one agenda and spin over the other. If I can’t be me, then I will just be overly cautious and list date, paper and link.

) There will be some changes, starting saturday night, such as we talked about at the beginning of this week (the main site shutting down and moving the docs to the blog, the forums going members only, etc) Also, the idea JMA had, about the docs being members only, will go into effect. You will have to be a member of the blog to get them. That’s (moving them over and re-linking them for dl) is probably gonna be what takes the most time, but in the end, we believe it will be easier and more member friendly. The Public Forums will be going members only, completely.

It just kills me the way these high dollar law firms use their knowledge of how to spin things in courts to run the “little guy’s” down until they can no longer afford to defend themselves; much less have the funds to have a lawyer represent them in the doublespeak world of the court system. They must be so proud of themselves when they lay their heads down at night. I now truly understand why lawyers are often referred to as “shyster’s” (note: I am NOT singling out any one lawyer or firm). I refer to the many jokes that fly around about lawyers in general.
Rose, as much as I would like this site to stay open (no matter what the conditions might have to be), I don’t want to see it hurt your health or make you worry anymore. Take care of yourself first.
Ken – how do I make sure I am registered for the right places? I can now access this site and the forums, but never figured out the chat, etc. If we have to re-register will you let us know here or how? I am so happy all is not lost!

Noni [67] you would think it would be cause I know those other sites are downright nasty when it comes to certain people connected to this saga, example what about that site that alters pictures pertaining nasty stuff and no I’m not talking about Perez Hilton either but they are right up his alley.
Noni [68] The things that will be left open is this blog here, the forums (they were previously open to all except a small members only section, we are gonna make it all members only) and the chat. The only part that will be closed is the Main Site, where all the docs were housed before and the first set of forums were. We’re gonna move the docs over to the blog, make a link off of it to a download section. If anything, it’ll actually reduce the amount of pw’s and usernames you need to keep track of.

Ken [98] I don’t live in Houston or even Texas for that matter, but I was paying attention to the weather there, do I score points he-he. Seriously though if you don’t have the equipment to deal with snow it can get dangerous. If you don’t have salt to throw out on your sidewalks or steps cat litter works just as well.
they put stuff down to melt it, but, as the weather guy said, the worse is yet to come. Their temps are gonna drop to the low to mid 20’s tonight, so all that stuff that melted and now its gonna all freeze. Not good for them. One guy say they were using those boogie boards (not sure if that’s the right name…they use them to ride the waves but not as big as surf boards…you see them at wave pools and such) as sleds right now and later, they’ll probably use them as ice sleds. lol

Just to let y’all know, we will be doing updates tonight, starting around midnight CST, to the blog and the forums. So, if you cannot log in around that time, don’t worry.
For any new readers that have tried to register with the blog last couple days, I apologize. I had turned off the capablity for new registrations when we thought we were gonna close and forgot to turn it back on. It is now back on.
Also, to let y’all know. Some of the downloads will not be working, starting tonight. We will be transfering them over from the old site to the blog and putting up a page with the dl links on them, while also going into the articles they are linked to and redoing the links on them. If you need/want a document during this time, check the old articles and see if you can get them that way. It’s gonna be a long, slow process but we believe in the end, it will be a lot simplier on everyone. Also, some of the older docs will not be put back up (ie, the federal case, the HKS vs OQ in florida, etc) but if you need/want one of the, contact either webmaster at rosespeaks dot com or one of the admins/mods and we’ll try to get them to you.
I still have not been able to get into the chat (or figure out how to do it), I registered for it awhile back. I will email one of the mods after things slow down with the upgrades/changes to see if I can get that straightened out. If anyone can or wants to explain how “simply” (this old brain doesn’t work as good as it use to) I’ll check back here later and see if I can figure it out. Thanks.
