Michael Jackson, is he the Boy who Grew up to Hate Himself?

We have all been reading the bombarding of “news” reports since Michael Jackson died. Each infotainment site (TMZ and Perez Hilton) with online papers and newspapers and television all wanting those advertising dollars and so the sensational stories continue and the spin gets larger. Let’s take a look at where we are today.
1. Someone has Michael Jackson prosthetic nose? That is the creepiest one I have read.
2. Michael Jackson has still not been buried. That is very reminiscent of James Brown hanging in limbo while family members fight it out.
3. We have doctors under investigation and charges soon to follow. This time led by the L. A. P. D. and the L. A. D. A., wonder who told feel good AG Jerry Brown to stay home and OFF of news conferences, whoever did ~~ good job!
4. Rumors of custody disputes between Debbie Rowe, Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson’s oldest sister Rebbie are detailed in every media you read.
5. We have now seen the leaked video of how badly Jackson was burned in the Pepsi commercial, some say that was the beginning of his drug use and plastic surgery. So many plastic surgeries that many people said generated the impression that Jackson was just a freak in the latter years of his life.
6. Jackson’s children wore masks when out with him another nutso thing for him to do, Wacko Jacko. Was he wacko or protecting his children’s identities from the paparazzi always following him; always trying to get that picture that would sell and show an ever more eccentric Jackson as his youth passed him by?
7. There is a lot of money at stake in Michael Jackson’s Estate and with that comes even more lawsuits around the corner. Thank goodness there is a no contest clause in the trust fund papers it is said by Katherine Jackson’s lawyers. How do we know this? The infotainment business says we know this because Katherine Jackson’s lawyers asked the court if there was any “loophole” where she could contest the Will’s executors and not lose her cut of the action.
8. The paramedics allegedly said Jackson was dead when they got to the house but Dr. Conrad Murray made them take Jackson to the hospital. Rumors are flying it was so the doctor could hide things, but later he told police exactly where to find the closet of drugs. Just another example of the spin and stories circulating on the days there is no “real” news on Jackson.
9. A tormented soul Michael Jackson appears to have been one that openly talked about the abuse of his father as a child. However we read that as an adult Jackson, no matter what disarray his own life might be even including tabloid turmoil he always financially supported his mother. Think about that and how many of us had even knew about that until the AP article this past week saying the executors are filing for an allowance for Jackson’s mother as well as his children to began being paid for by the Estate.
10. Then there is the question of who are the children’s “biological” dad and mom? Easy to answer, Michael Jackson was their daddy and that is all that matters at the end of the day. He wanted to protect his children in life, let’s hope they are protected after his death.
So many questions to feed so much frenzy, I predict Anna Nicole Smith and those in her life will begin to fade from the public view and scrutiny as Jackson’s death, and wealth will take center stage any day now. It is already consuming the infotainment “news” in our new 24/7 thirst for more dirt thus equaling those much needed advertising dollars.
I have a few suggestions. Look at these pictures of Never Land and the wondrous things that Michael Jackson owned. When Never Land was being foreclosed on for taxes, Jackson made a brilliant move where a billionaire saved Never Land but Jackson kept his name on the deed as part owner. Jackson is quoted many times as saying he hated Never Land and would never return but also holding he fought to continued to hold onto his sanctuary turned hell on earth. The magnificent things that once graced the rooms and grounds of Never Land were to be auctioned off and Jackson stepped in legally, just this past March 2009, and prevented that, the boy who bought Never Land could never quite let it or the magnificence he created there go.
So here are my suggestions:
I say let the billionaire fight with the other land owners in Santa Barbara County California about how to have both, their privacy and Michael Jackson there forever. Never Land in the end should be the final resting place of the King of Pop and his wondrous things. Many of his, often over the top possessions, are now on display in Beverly Hills, both he and they should be returned to Never Land. Michael Jackson should be buried there. It takes Santa Barbara County just designating Never Land a “museum” and that waives any objections to burying the “King of Pop” on the sanctuary he so craved in life, let him have it in death. It feels like after making his life hell in 2003 with allegations that followed him to the end of his life, it is a small penance for the wealthy county to give in a tad and make it happen.
Let the boy who grew up, many say, to hate himself find the peace that Never Land will give him, and remember he always held on to his Never Land and it’s furnishings so did he really hate Never Land or just the people who violated his sanctuary?
Tell Joe Jackson to take a hike back to Las Vegas and leave Jackson’s 79 year old mother and his children alone, take a hike Joe! Maybe we won’t have to see the self serving always promoting father of Jackson; the man, I think, who was the bases of the boy who grew up to hate himself the man, Michael Jackson.
Remember that Jackson bought Never Land when he was twenty-nine, a success bigger then anyone of his generation and probably generations to come. He only left Never Land in 2005, discouraged and mad at the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s department that crashed into his sanctuary. Many who have followed Michael Jackson in life say this happened only because he was eccentric and a boy who wanted to go back and redo a childhood stolen. He provided a place for countless children, and how many of those countless children told those horrid tales?
Give Never Land back to the King of Pop and his fans. Take his belongings from the Beverly Hills auction house and return them to the grand museum Never Land can be. Perhaps if they want, Never Land can provide Michael Jackson’s children a true sanctuary and a place to feel close to their daddy. After all is said and done, he was their daddy and they loved him. They grew up at Never Land and Michael Jackson wrote many a song there, has anyone asked his children what they think their daddy would have wanted?
Let’s remember the genius who wrote the music, inspired a generation of dancers with his graceful and sometimes new and never seen before moves. I was even impressed and remember his famous Moon Walk and from there on his toes like a ballerina. In his day and even now there was no one like Jackson the boy who was a man at twelve and eccentric and discouraged with a world who many say never accepted him way before he turned 50.
Let’s celebrate the life of the man who gave so much to others, when he was burned in that Pepsi commercial he built a burn unit for children when he recovered. At the age of 24 he knew great pain and perhaps that was the place where Jackson began to hate himself, the need for the ever changing look and more surgeries, more allegations, more accusations because he was “different”.
Perhaps he committed none of the sins that were lashed out at him, perhaps his only sin in society’s eyes was that he was “different”. In our society, if you are different you are either eccentric, or nuts, depending on your wealth but perhaps Jackson was eccentric and brilliant.
Jackson was a very complex man we learn now. One who was great at business investments, but horrible with personal finances. He hated his dad but loved his mom and tried to share his life’s achievements with her and she did love him. He was eccentric and a genius. Private but loved his fans. Craved his sanctuary but opened it up to children to make sure they had the childhood he never had. In the end he was just “daddy” to his children and they loved him.
Michael Jackson I think as we see this all unfold, is going to be a man always living with extremes. Which brings up my question about wealth and extremes in many talented people of the land we call Hollyweird. Do they prosecute every employee that ever picked up drugs at the pharmacy for Jackson? Do they go after the doctors? How much is Jackson responsible? Was he afraid he would not be successful or even healthy enough to do a come back tour?
This was a complex man of great talent, generosity and intrigue, and all of it is going to play out in the media and the courts for years to come. Many of us thought there would not be another infotainment frenzy story for those ad dollars for a long time after the Anna Nicole Smith ongoing court battles, go figure. This one is bigger, more complex, lots of excesses, money, fame and yet fear of this lost eccentric genius named Michael Jackson.
Yep buckle up and let’s get Never Land declared a museum; get his things back from the auction house; MY God to want to auction his MTV music awards? Has anyone asked his children how they feel about Never Land? It was their home for many years and as you look through the forty three pictures I did yesterday, tell me if you don’t see a young good looking Michael Jackson in a lot of them.
With generosity seems to come demons always with a mixture of those who will get close and betray you, or get close and give you anything you want. Even the state of California knew Jackson had problems with prescription drugs at least by 2003 and forward. Is Feel Good AG Jerry Brown an enabler because he did not use his “post” to investigate some “real” enablers and doctor feel goods, or is he not? My prediction this is going to kill any hope feel good Jerry Brown has for any bid for a run for the governorship but then I have been wrong before. By the way has anyone asked him why the generation who came of age in the 60’s and 70’s nicknamed him, Governor Feel Good Jerry Brown? That is a question left for another day and one we will ask or relate for days, weeks, months to come.

Michael would turn over in his grave and grab the throat of the person who buried him at Neverland. He said many times he would never go back there because it held so many bad memories and the bad outweighed the good.

That works for some people. But then there are the ’sensitive souls’. Years ago an elderly woman told me..”be careful of their butterfly wings”. Some are able to let criticism roll off their back, and some take every word to heart. “You’re too fat. Your sister is prettier. You’ll never be as smart as your brother”. That’s the replay button I mentioned before.
Does anyone remembering that Moe said that they tried to not let Anna read the comments made about her on the PC but she wanted to anyway? And you have to know that it must of hurt her. Human traits are as easy as want to be loved and to love. How could Micheal be any different? His songs were ones of peace and hope. Togetherness..heal the world. I think of him as a sensitive soul.
His fans loved him just as Anna’s fans loved her. But gossip is just so alluring. Those advertiser dollars at this point in time, keep the lights on. And then if you want free advertising dollars, comment on or create a scandel.
Funny how only doctors and celebrities have drug problems. How many billions is the pharm. industry making a year? Do you really think they want everyone to ignore their doctors advise and quit cold turkey? How long has Hollywood used pharmacuticals for their ’stars’. Wasn’t Judy Garland fed by the studios to keep her ‘on’ and then fed to shut her down? Trying to present this as a ‘new problem’ is nuts. It’s not.
Where he’s buried it doesn’t really matter except to those that find comfort in sitting by a grave. I don’t know if I would buy a MJ poseable doll at some tourist trap. But I suppose wherever they lay him to rest, that will follow.
Bewildered Great post broken bones ,black eyes and such always heal or go away but words can hurt as much if not more and are more difficult to heal if they can be healed at all.It is a fallacy to say words can’t hurt most times they are the worse hurtand do damage no one can see.

I am conflicted about Neverland. I think it would be an easier option security wise if Michael was buried there. Hate to think what would happen to his grave if not on private property. Maybe it can be a sanctuary in death when it was breached in life.
His estate will have to get his assets back and should be responsible on behalf of his children and Katherine and charities.
I always said there was some same threads running through Anna’s story and Michael Jackson’s. The media will dine off Michael for many years to come not letting the truth get in the way of selling papers and magazines.
I just hope there is a Howard out there to keep the bastards honest and hope a Rita and gang are far away. How long before a book is published??
But I also see a lot of lawyers getting richer.
We have learnt some lessons since Anna died and they will come in handy now..mainly seeing the plots and twists that weren’t so obvious before.
IMO Jerry Brown did not push the issue or investigate Michael Jackson’s prescription drug use back in 2003 due to he did not have the likes of Team Texas or Don Clark whispering sweet nothings in his ear.
Heath I am conflicted also about his final resting place.I though he was already buried. People are still making money off Graceland and it is not all going to his daughter.
This whole drug deal reminded me of some one years ago who complained of a bad migraine headache and had me drive them to an emergency room so they could get help,They were given Demerol enough to last a few days until they could see their personal physician,I found out the following Monday,this happened on a Friday evening,that this was what this person did to get Demerol.I was very good friends with this persons sister and she filled me in on how often he did this and how.That was the last time this person got away with it with me but how many others did this person take in and get to believe him.I was told he always used this ploy on weekends and went to different emergancy rooms to get enough to last.
As for Michael being buried at Never Land, I am still sorta up in the air about that since my conversation in a previous thread with DiamondGirl concerning that matter. A part of me still feels though, if Michael said he would never return to Never Land then he should not be made to spend all eternity there. Sorry DG JMHO!
In the matter of who should get custody/guardianship of Michael’s children? In Michael’s Will he names his mother Katherine “providing” she capable to raise his three children. What is being said now [via media] Michael’s sister Rebbie is helping Katherine so to me that raises the question whether she Katherine is capable of raising three young children?
IMO if Rebbie is needed to help with raising the children then that shows Katherine is not capable. Now I am left wondering, is Katherine asking the court to grant her custody/guardianship due to the money that will come with the custody/guardianship and will a judge grant her [Katherine] sole custody if it is disclosed that Rebbie is the one helping Katherine raise the children.
There is something that stays in my mind,Michael had a nutritionist(Cherilyn Lee),he had a cook,and a live in doctor,Yet Michael was 112lbs when he died,What the hell were all these people doing?It was said Michael stomach was empty,except for some pills,I would love to know what he ate and when,as meds have a different effect on a empty stomach.I am also having a hard time with some of the ME report,With all his drug use,the kidney,liver,and heart had to have been effected.You know,it is to late when a person is dead to say (I AM SORRY) Jermaine,was right,leave his brother alone,people did enough,making fun of Michael,and are now finding out the pain and heartache he was suffering.To late to say Michael we love you,I myself cannot wait to see what Brown is going to do about different names on different prescrip bottles of Michael,Arrest all those who put there name on Michael bottles,and what about all the others that have passed doing the same thing,while Jerry Brown sat for years and did nothing.?

Ok I am going to chime in here, Rose great article. I see at least one correction, Jackson is not the one who wanted the children veiled. Debbie Rowe wanted that so that no-one would know what the children looked like, apparently she was afraid of the children being kidnapped. If you need a link, I will find it.
Rox, He fought so hard NOT to lose Neverland when he could have just signed over his portion of it. He stopped the auction of his personal items. Again all these things that were in Neverland. I think he stated things when he was hurt and mad at the world. But I do think he was the child who never grew up. I also think it would be fitting that his final resting place be Neverland.
I think he was waiting to get back on top of the world and for Sneddon to leave the DA’s office. Let’s just say that IMO, Sneedon had a thing in for Jackson and he didn’t like to be proven wrong.
As far as the bills he left behind, they will be paid with no problem. Didn’t you hear that 5.5 MILLION dollars (in cash) was recovered/ turned over to the executors last weekend? Seems that his last manager (who was fired a few months ago) was holding on to it as a secret for Jackson … wink wink… He owned 50% of Sony’s catalog estimated worth 2 billion dollars… his share 1 billion?? He owed what 400,00 grand? A small amount compared to the income. It was estimated that he was making 50 million a year.
IMO, Jerry Brown will be focusing on the Jackson death. CA childrens charity has much to gain… 20% of the interest on the Michael Jackson Family Trust Fund. Soon you just might hear “Anna who”? coming from Brown’s lips since his office will be the overseer of said charity money. JMO But he best arrest those who enabled Jackson also or he will look more the fool if he doesn’t. Don’t you just love those double edge swords?

Great article Rose! Regardless of how I feel about him as a man, I think he deserves respect for his many accomplishments and giving to charities etc. and his children deserve their privacy, To be a father or mother does not matter if they are his biologically his or not and I could careless either way, His children loved him and I am sure his children are going through so much and not understanding at such a young age to lose their only parent, It is heartbreaking and I hope they are just surrounded with love and not exploited in anyway shape or form. I do think he was very complex and very flawed imo.

I understand all that but he stated many many times he would never go back. I read somewhere that he wouldn’t let go of Neverland because it was a place he created and he had a real hard time letting go of things. Although all of the amusement rides are now gone and have been for a long time. It was said he was sort of a “pack rat.” From the pictures I have seen on TMZ of Neverland I believe it. Of course a lot of that could have been the mess left behind during the raid but who knows. Either way it was a LOT of stuff. I believe the person trying to hold the auction didn’t have legal authority to sell his things and that is why he won the injunction or whatever it was that stopped the auction. His mother is the hold out for burying him at Neverland because, it has been said, that she knew MJ’s feelings about it and his wish to never go back there. I can see the benefit of having him buried on private property but then again, rumor has it he’s in (can’t think of his name) the creator of MoTowns crypt right now. That isn’t on private property as far as I know and there has been no disturbance reported. Who knows. I imagine it is a hard decision for his mother to have to make and I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes.

He didn’t hate his race and he didn’t try to make himself “white”. He had a disease. He was losing his pigmentation in his skin. What would you have done in his shoes? He tried to hide it because it was NO ONE business what was going on with his health.
Do you know the story behind why he started having plastic surgery on his nose? He was a very talented man and it is a shame that he was one that has been murdered. Don’t give me that his use of drugs caused his death in this instance. I have never believed that he molested anyone. I do believe that even if his accusers came out now and stated they lied, no one would believe them.
DiamondGirl [33] I agree with you in reference to Michael’s skin condition. This disease can happen to those of a different race as well. I have a close member of my family who has what is called Vitiligo not sure, if that is what Michael had but it is possible.

Beverly, #32, I do not doubt for one minute that his childhood, (as everyone’s do shape their perspective of the world and life), But to use that for all as a excuse for adult behaviours even knowing especially after the first trial, Someone would clue him into knowing that what he thinks is just love is not acceptable behaviour in the real world. And apparently he never got the message, Sick people with predilections, (preference) can not be coerced to change their behavior no matter how society perceives them, Now having said that. I do think that credible people like Maureen Orth and her articles that were never challenged by the Jackson camp has alot of truth, and if what she has reported through the years has validity he was some sick human, imo. I hope that what he was accused of is not true, But none of us know for sure, and if it is true those children have to live with that abuse for the rest of their lives. DiamondGirl [39] something I would like to know as well, also there has been no mention as to whether Michael’s previous doctors are being looked into. I mean they did have a list that seemed to get longer but they seem to be only focusing on Dr. Murray. So far, it has not been shown or proven that Dr. Murray is the one who wrote the script or somehow got the Propofol for Michael. In addition, I do not think the toxicology report has not come back yet so how are they for sure that is what killed him.
I think LE has to deal with the death first, the cod and the mod. I think that they are finding the evidence for that before they look beyond the doctors that were involved with MJ right before prior to his death. I think you will see Brown go gung ho against any Doctor that prescribed a lot of drugs to MJ. He has to or he will lose face for sure.
As far as the molestion trial, Jordi Chandler did not testify. He refused. (I have been talking about this on many boards and supplied a link somewhere.) If you need it, I will go hunting. OK I was wrong on my assumption that nothing as of lately had been reported as to other doctors being investigated. According to TMZ there may be more than a dozen doctors under investigation and possibly that number of doctors could double.

49. I don’t know if he lied or was given a false memory when his father gave his son that drug. Only MJ and the children involve know the truth and someone will always have doubts about it. I will never ever believe that he could hurt a child in that way. Never. After the first accusation, MJ should have always had some adult around him, vidoe running at all times. But I do believe that his tour insurance company paid Jordy the money all due to $$ reasons. Can I prove it no. When the last allegation took place, I think MJ would not have taken a chance of jail time if he had done something. I think the last allegation broke him in spirit. Just go to youtube and look at it all!!, look at his interviews with Ed Bradley, Martin Bashir, all of it, and even what Chris Rock and Katt Williams says, I looked and even him handling a small baby trying to feed him shaking him incessantly and his behaviour oh and the dangle, I just not can concede that is normal behaviour. Has anyone had a major or minor surgery? I have, and when you wake up from Propofol your groggy and there is no fitful sleep, you just want to go home and sleep, and the hospital keeps you for a length of time to make sure you are ok and breathing proper (the body repairs itself in sleep mood) and to use that as a sleep aid is just mind boggling.

I also watch the trial each day and of course was on a message board posting about the entire trial. So I will agree to disagree. Apparently there was not enough evidence tp prove any guilt in the eyes of the jury. But let me ask you the standard question here, if it was your child involved would you settle for money and what amount? Or another question, since the first allegation was made public, would you allow your child to stay over at Neverland? Would two million dollars be enough to ease the the thought that you child was sexually molested? This is what does not make sense to me. I think Jackson finally got sick and tired of being threatened all the time with a lawsuit and finally said enough is enough, I will let it go public and fight these allegations. Either way it was a lose/lose situation.

Excellent questions DiamondGirl!, I must say this in all honesty, I never blogged or even discussed any case that I found of interest on the Internet until the Anna case, and I only found that because I was watching Nancy Grace or ( I am not 100% sure because I loved to watch Cathrine Crier) and I saw that from the Jackson case. ( My point is, is that so many bloggers that have opinions come from other cases and have so much more insight then I do ) I just wish I knew that in the Jackson case that there was bloggers out there that did discuss it in real time, I have very strong opinions about that case (Jackson) ( as I do now with the Anna case) because I followed it on TV, Hell, it was on 24/7, and then the Anna case and her mother 24/7, Now having said that.
About not having enough evidence to find him guilty, Imo, I think that we have seen in recent history, i.e.. OJ, Robert Blake, Phil Spector (first trial) and Michael Jackson that celebrity and what is perceived by their persona that they are not held to the same standard as the average person. Imo if Michael was just a average Joe with all of his past prior acts and behaviours and pay offs he would have been found guilty, but because money and fame and recognition and Damn good Lawyers he would have been found guilty again celebrity a is excused, I think it is high time for our society to NOT put people on a pedestal and glorify them and just because of one’s position or how much we recognize them to hold them in esteem they should be accountable for their actions and yes I am saying this, The playing field should be the same for us all in America but it is not!
