Mark Geragos Defense Attorney

What gives with this guy Kaz Miura and his committing suicide…if he had Mark Geragos aka Gagagosh he was going to be found guilty anyway! (Not because he hired this guy…of course not) Now we get to watch this pathetic dog and pony show that will do as it is expected to do and get Gagagosh on all the bullshit cable shows…is business
that bad? Not on Rita’s LOL.

The coroner of Los Angeles one of the best medical examiners in the world says ‘suicide’. Gagagosh hires a private ‘independent pathologists’ and this guy says ‘murder’, Oh Please!…..I was wondering if this Kaz guy owed money on his legal fees…..what next Mark, try to bring him back to life long enough to sign a check? This guy committed suicide while in custody, plain and simple and to try and drum up a ‘murder plot’ is as ridiculous as it gets…..but what the hell, we all love PUBLICITY! In addition now how many potential new cases will come from the family of criminals all over the US who think that someone killed there little criminal while he or she was in jail? Oh, you have to love what goes on between the lines.

Gagagosh has become the material of some funny lawyer jokes and it is only going to get better with time. He is not through trying to get his puss on television, but to keep this ball rolling he is going to work real hard. I am surprised he is not giving his opinion on cooking shows and Martha Stewart…..is he trying to be the ‘male’ version of Gloria ‘get me a camera crew’ Alred? Just watch, people, you will see that I am right again.

Hey and guess what? When people are serious about killing themselves, they do it! No they dont talk about it, those that talk and call 911… Those are the ones who are not serious! Gagagosh is quoted in the Los Angeles Times that, “A lawyer from his office had visited Miura who was in good spirits … he was ready and girded for the fight”. Sure until he saw the light, did every American taxpayer a favor, put himself out of his misery, and saved us, the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of dollars in proving that he killed his wife…justice was done at his own hands and I say that is a good thing! In addition, no lawyering skills are going to reverse this event…suicide is just that. Hey how about this, maybe he was contemplating what his legal bills would be? As he tore his shirt off… (He hung himself with his shirt it is being reported)

The timing of this story is very much on target for the following reason. On one hand we have this suicide that one legal beagle is claiming through ‘his’ hired gun was murder. BAM! then we go to, ‘old get my gun Spector’ and poor Lana who his lawyers claimed killed herself when in fact we all know what really happened….is this not a funny comparison? No not funny, Ha Ha, but funny in a very sick way. In such a sick way that you would need a law degree and to have passed a bar exam to put something like this together and try and feed it to the public…were are our senses? Good riddance to the Japanese guy Kaz and what a shame for poor Lana…welcome to the American justice system!

You know I was truly shocked that good ‘ole Mark didn’t offer his services down there in Florida. People say that Casey Anthony is like the female Scott Peterson.
I have noticed that Mark has not been asked on very many shows in this past few years, maybe he has lost some of that charm? (or) Maybe some are not fooled as easily as before?

Gloria’s time has been limited also, except for when she got Britney’s ex bodyguard to speak up. Guess you might say she (Alred) was instrumental in helping Britney lose custody… I do agree that Britney was in trouble, but I swear it was postpartum psychosis after the second son. I wish that someone would have helped her sooner, though she seems to be doing much better now.

I read Sharon’s book (Laci’s mom) and went through a few boxes of kleenex before I completed it. Sharon has done some remarkable fund raising in Laci and Connor’s name.
She organized a huge event less than two weeks ago:

    http://cbs13.com/local/modesto.laci.peterson.2.838497.html
“Celebrities Help Raise Cash For Laci Peterson Fund” Oct 11, 2008
“MODESTO (CBS13) ? Celebrities and comedians came to Modesto Saturday night to help raise money for a non-profit group established in the name of Laci and Conner Peterson.

“Laughing For Laci” was organized by Laci Peterson’s mother, who founded the Laci and Connor Search And Rescue Fund. The organization has raised nearly $200,000 and given money to 37 organizations in 10 different states.

“I decided on search and rescue when I learned that… all the people with search and rescue are volunteers,” said Sharon Rocha, Laci’s mother. “They’re not paid for it.”

Saturday’s event at Modesto’s Gala Center was by far the organization’s biggest fundraiser. Hosted by Larry King, the event featured performances from comedians such as Colin & Brad from “Whose Line Is It Anyways?”

Some good people here in California, I think anyway.

Watching Mark Geragos durning the Peterson trial, was enough for me.The term Grand Standing comes to mind.like when the boat was put out by the courthouse for everyone to picture what happened .I am very happy to learn Mrs Rocha, has channled her grief,,doing productive, events.Just like Howard with his court cases,,you become so busy, the grief is put on the back burner.Lord knows it is there.I will tell you Mr Nazarian,I will never make that mistake again thinking people do not take about suicide, because I DID MAKE THAT MISTAKE.a woman kept telling me she wanted to kill herself.and like you I did not take it to heart.well she jumped off of a building.I should have known better,Never but never, when someone talks suicide, take it lightly.I believe Mr Miura, committed suicide,is it not the Japanese, that do the honorable thing,He disgraced homself and the Japanese.

  5. fifi says:

Sometimes I think the US could do with some old fasioned Common Law…. no cameras in courtrooms, no speculation in the media prior to trial etc would kill off the careers of these media scum lawyers. It would also kill off so much of the trial by media industry.

  6. mbhanson says:

You all obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Mr. Nazarian, you are a moron and should be ashamed of yourself. God help us all if any of you were ever competent enough to actually make a difference in this world. MBH

  7. JMA says:

Beth & Beverly I agree with both of your comments.

Beth I think it is great that Laci’s family is keeping her memory alive with this organization. It makes me sad every time I think about them never getting to see their grandson, not knowing what he looked like, not able to hold him and knowing that Laci was never able to be a mother to him.

fifi I agree if cameras were no longer allowed in the courtroom a lot of these attorneys wouldn’t be showboating for the cameras and instead would be doing their job for their clients.

  8. Tianna says:

Some people will do anything for fame and fortune, including making a mountain out of a mole hill. It seems like when some of these ppl get a little attention and go on TV they just want more of the spot light. If something does come out of this, of course it’s the good old tax payers that end up paying.

I agree with you fifi about the camera’s in the court room. Here in Canada we also don’t allow camera’s in the court room.

Gosh I have no idea how many hours of work I lost watching the first OJ trial and then of course all the time spent watching all the Anna saga.

Untill we the public stop our obsession with high profile cases, the media will keep it up……….Remember folks it’s us that watch the TV and buy the magazines. I am probably one of the worst so I don’t have too much room to complain, I think I spent well over 400 dollars just on books about OJ’S case……..crazy eh?

  9. JMA says:

Tianna I refuse to buy the magazines especially the “smut magazines” as I call them like the Enquirer for starters. That magazine was horrible with their articles after Princess Di died and that is when I vowed never to spend my money on any of them again. But yes I did watch the OJ trial and a few others so yes as long as the media has us watching the Attorney’s handling the high profile cases will continue to become just as famous as their clients.

We do not attack posters on this site. You don’t have to agree with what any of these ladies are saying but you do have to respect them as human beings, like yourself. You want to be treated with respect don’t you? Different opinions are welcome. Personal attacks are not. Please keep that in mind when you disagree in the future and we can all have a pleasent experience when posting.

I dont like to respond to some things but I will discuss Mr/Ms. Hanson’s comment. Sir I am certainly many things a ” moron” is not one of them. Ashamed, Hmmm, yes on some things, not this one. As for making a “difference ” in this world? Kaz did! and for that I thank him from the bottom of my heart! As for all of this other bullshit? Murder or Suicide, you sir, if you are close enough to the facts YOU will realize it was just that, get me my shirt I am going to hang myself, Japanese dude knew his ‘duck’ was cooked and took an honorable way out. As for all the other stuff…..LMAO we are all into self promotion. I would bet that Mr. Geragosian’s Phone is ringing with those mothers and fathers and relatives of scum bags and criminals who killed themselves while in jail after committing horrendous acts against our society. And now wanting to make a buck if they can say ‘murder’ vs Suicide and get some city, county or state to pay them for the useless life that is no longer on police blotters or criminal court dockets.
Oh no Mr/Ms. Hanson no moron here, these are the facts of what this society has come to, very plain and very simple.
    All my best,

You’re right JN, this is an interesting story. As far as Mark G., he is nice to look at on the talk shows, but as far as being someone I would want to represent me…no way. Has he ever won a case yet? Although I am not a Scott Pederson fan, I think it was shameful that he didn’t even attend the hearing when his client was found guilty. I agree with Beverly regarding the boat specticle.

That rant above by MBH brought an old “friend” of yours to mind. PB :) I find it interesting that his opinion was made here, instead of on your website?

  13. Beth says:

Well stated, John on your #11 comment.
I was curious if; mbhanson was in the legal field… possibly a lawyer?
Well, no matter. I do wholeheartedly believe that that it was the most honorable thing to do according to this man and his culture. I am not saying that I agree he should have done this, only that I understand why.

I do hope there will be many changes in the legal profession in years to come, similar to the changes that are happening on Wall St. with the ‘overpaid’ CEOs. Where did America’s morals go? It is a shame, wish I would have been a teenager back in the 50’s… Good people and good music!

  14. Roxanne says:

I think he probably didn’t want to go to jail. He may have done the honorable thing but I don’t think it was honorable. I think it was a chicken shit way out of the mess he created.

You know we enjoy your stories John. It’s always a pleasure.

  15. JMA says:

    Well put, John ;-)

  16. Liann says:

John, Thank you for the article, I agree with your take on Geragos and Alred too.

Roxanne #14, Those are my thoughts also.

TO nbhhanson————I do not think you are qualified to judge anyone on this or any other board, and I beg to differ with you,In the span of my nursing career,I worked at a methadone clinic, took care of Cancer pts, worked med surg floor, and i am sure delt with people like you,all mouthI know when I meet my maker,I can say, I did the best I could,WHAT CAN YOU SAY?

  18. JMA says:

I personally cannot stomach Gloria Alred. My opinion she is always looking to be in the limelight.

John I agree with your comment pertaining to those who are serious about committing suicide, you are right they do not talk about it they do it. Why do people think that just because someone did not talk about suicide means they were not suicidal? In my opinion the ones who say they are going to kill themselves are not serious and are looking for attention.

  19. hmm says:

In some cases i will agree people say they want to kill themselves in a cry for help or attention, but I knowOne of my stprsons said he waned to die,at the time people helped him but maybe 3 years later he took his own life and his mother found him in a shed the next day.So sometimes they do mean itand eventually do go thru with it. Would more help have helped him I don’t know because I never had the chance to meet the boy though I did say he could live with us because we had the room if he was not getting along with his mom and her boyfriend.

  20. savesomething says:

You know Ladys ,don’t remember the war 39-45? Japanese peoples when they know they are cook, they prefer doing harakiri. For them it HONORABLE.
For us it save money and times oupsss

  21. savesomething says:

Everyday there are suicide in a subway or up the bridge.Golden gate doesn’t have a stop suicide I am suprise!!!Autority are talking to put one.We will see more suicide during the next year if the economy is not getting better. It is hard to reconize a person who whant kill himself. If some demand help it is cause something is not going well inside.I think it is not just for attention or yes it is a special attention they need. It existe some telephone line to help these persons.
The man or woman who kill all the family ,young girls or more young boys after a break in first love, all these suicide cannot be prevent.I am suprise of the number of suicide each year. It is not something you push on a side and say they need attention. It is more then that.

  22. Sprocket says:

It’s my opinion that once Miura knew he was headed to the US, he was determined to commit suicide. I think that plan was on his mind since he was incarcerated in Saipan.

What better way to try to “tarnish” the City that accused him of murder and kept after him until he make the costly mistake of. . . leaving Japan, than to kill himself and have his attorney raise the question as to “cause of death.”

If there “are” wounds to Miura, I suspect he made them himself to try to add credence to “theory” that he was murdered in jail.

The thing is, I can’t fathom a single motive someone in the jail would have had, to kill him. He wasn’t famous here; only in Japan. He was not housed in population; from my understanding ~ correct me someone if I am wrong ~ he was in a cell by himself. Did Miura have enemies in the jail that “plotted” to kill him? Doubtful. Miura had fans as well as a media circus that followed his every move.

  23. BEVERLY says:

BETH———–It was such fun to be a teenager in the 50’s.I wish the young adults,of today could, have half the fun we did.Life was so different,I earned my money for school cloths working in the tabacco fields in the summer, enjoying going to dances every friday and saturday,we had different bands that played, now the kids have nothing but to go drinking,in my family,we all sat down for dinner at the table.I remember fighting off the boys, who wanted to get to first base, now the girls have there cloths off for a hot dog.Outdoor movies, and most of all, young and innocent, waiting for your first love,

  24. JMA says:

hmm, [19] do not get me wrong, I think anyone who mentions committing suicide should be taken seriously and looked into. On the other hand, I feel those who are serious do not say anything because they do not want anyone stopping them.
